  • IM(Instant Messenger) chatting service can carry user's various information including life style, geographical position, and psychology & crime history and thus forensic analysis on the IM service is desirable. But, forensic analysis for KakaoTalk's chatting service is not well studied yet. For this reason, we study KakaoTalk's forensic analysis focusing on chatting service. This paper first details a general method of IM forensics investigating the previous articles about IM forensics although there are not many articles. Second, we discuss methodologies for IM forensics wherein we present analysis of table structure and method for reconstruction of chatting message. These result in the basic element of forensic tools of KakaoTalk chatting message. Last, we compare artifacts of KakaoTalk with that of WhatsApp. We conclude that these applications are, at least, different in that table structures and the ways to reconstruct chatting messages are not same and therefore digital evidences or artifacts are not same and somewhat distinct.

  • Scientifically gifted students' argumentation characteristics in science instruction using the internet messenger was investigated. Participants in this study were five 9th grader in middle school in Seoul. They attended a program offered by the Science-Gifted Education Center, Seoul National University. Internet messenger (instant messenger) was used for instruction, and data were collected by saved messages. Toulmin's argument model was used as a tool for analyzing students' argumentation, and the argumentation patterns were categorized by sequence of argument operations. The results showed that in case of learner-centered instructions, there were lots of relatively higher-level argumentations appeared. On the contrary, teacher-centered instruction ended up with few or lower-level argumentation. Also there were four types of argumentation patterns emerged throughout the whole instructions. Findings suggest that the development of an instruction models and the selection of an appropriate topic be necessary for promoting the interaction between teacher and students as well as enhancing the students' ability of argument.

  • Recent, cyber violence is increasing in a school and the severity of the problems encountered day by day. In particular, the severity of the cyber force using the smart phone is recognized as a very high and great problems socially. Cyberbullying have long damage degree and a wide range time duration against of existed physical cyber violence. Then student's affects is very seriously. Therefore, we analyzes the relationship and languages in the classroom for students to use to identify signs of cyber violence that may occur between friends in the class. And we support this information to identified parent, classroom teachers and school sheriff for prevent cyberbullying accidents in the school. For this research, we will design and implement a messenger in the cyber classroom. It have many components that are Big-data vocabulary, analyzer, and communication interface. Our proposed messenger can analyze lingual sign and friendship between students using Big-data analysis method such as text mining. It can analysis relationship by per-student, per-classroom.

  • The Korean distribution line currently consists of overhead ground wires (OHGW), overhead distribution lines, neutral wires (NW), and messenger wires (MW). The MW is installed under the NW. The lightning protection system in Korea is focused on OHGW and lightning arrester and the MW are not considered. Therefore, this paper proposes the applicability of MW for purpose of lightning protection. For this, we analyzed the effects of lightning overvoltage according to the existence of OHGW and MW and the grounding conditions of the MW in the Korean distribution system. The grounding conditions of the MW that we took into consideration were the common or separate grounding of the MW and NW. The analysis based on the equivalent circuit of the distribution pole at each condition was performed. The distribution lines and lightning were modeled using the Electromagnetic Transients Program (EMTP). For each of the installation conditions of the OHGW and MW, the various lightning conditions were simulated and analyzed for both direct and indirect lightning. The simulation results showed that, if the OHGW was not installed in the Korean distribution system, the lightning overvoltage could be reduced by the common grounding of the MW and NW.

  • The visual presentation is one key feature which gives much consideration in designing mobile applications as it acquires attention from the end user. It takes only a few milliseconds to form an impression on a person and this is not any different to the web and mobile application designs. The first few milliseconds are a crucial time for developers as the impression produced would indicate further engagement of the service. Developers should continuously update the designs based on human needs. A few of these contents have actually paved its way to being continuously used. By synthesizing results of preceding researchers, this paper considers layout, color, and font as UI design elements of SNS messenger, and illustration and animation as the graphic image of it. In this study, the preference for messaging application chat layout was being surveyed and analyzed. As a result, there has been little significance identified since the instant messaging, so chat layout shows very minimal variance in their design.

  • Purpose: The Purposes of this study are (1) to examine why users are communicating through MIM (2) to understand what factors impact these users' satisfaction and loyalty. Methods: We use a questionnaire survey to collect 256 data on users' perceptions of Kakaotalk. We also use a structural equation modeling method by using AMOS 18.0. Results: Company trust, communication voice, connectedness, and perceived network size are found to be statistically significant factors affecting. Also, satisfaction influence on word of mouth and intention to switch. Conclusion: This study develops a research model from the MIM context. We suggest three points of view as company characteristics, device interactivity, and social factor. We examine the determinants of users' satisfaction and loyalty. The results can offer valuable insights for future mobile services research.

  • Since the first detection of gravitational-wave (GW), GW150914, September 14th 2015, the multi-messenger astronomy added a new way of observing the Universe together with electromagnetic (EM) waves and neutrinos. After two years, GW together with its EM counterpart from binary neutron stars, GW170817 and GRB170817A, has been observed. The detection of GWs opened a new window of astronomy/astrophysics and will be an important messenger to understand the Universe. In this article, we briefly review the gravitational-wave and the astrophysical sources and introduce the basic principle of the laser interferometer as a gravitational-wave detector and its noise sources to understand how the gravitational-waves are detected in the laser interferometer. Finally, we summarize the search algorithms currently used in the gravitational-wave observatories and the detector characterization algorithms used to suppress noises and to monitor data quality in order to improve the reach of the astrophysical searches.

  • Dynamic characteristics of a catenary that supplies electrical power to high-speed railway is investigated. The catenary is a slender structure composed of repeating spans. Each span is in turn composed of the contact and messenger wires connected by the hangers in regular intervals. A finite element based dynamic model is developed, and numerical simulations are performed to determine the dynamic characteristics of the catenary The influence of the structural parameters on the response characteristics is investigated. The structural parameters considered include tension on the contact and messenger wires, stiffness of the hangers, and the hanger and span spacing. The hanger characteristics are found to be the dominant factors that influence the overall dynamic characteristics of the catenary.
