This study aims to investigate and analyze the current status of book curation operation in elementary school libraries in Busan and the perception of librarians, and then to propose a plan to activate book curation in school libraries. A list of 304 school libraries in the Busan area was secured using the current status of school libraries in the 2021 National Library Statistical System. And then after selecting 121 school libraries with librarians, 83 schools that decided to participate in the survey were selected as final research subjects. Based on the current status of book curation operation and the results of the librarian's perception survey, the following are proposed as a way to activate the book curation of the school library: 1) expansion and provision of specialized formal education on book curation, 2) development and dissemination of materials related to the operation of school library book curation, 3) continuous efforts of librarians to strengthen the capacity for book curation, 4) between school library librarians collaboration and information sharing.

The purpose of this study is to investigate if there is a relationship between reading to schoolchildren picture books on a library and its effects on their library use. 14 library-related picture books and 64 students in third grade of an elementary school in Suwon were selected for reading activities for 7 weeks to students with once a week program. The survey was conducted to those students to observe the changes in students' recognition on a library and a librarian before and after reading activities. As a result, it appears to be some improvements on reading attitude, understanding and awareness of function and using ways of school libraries, and the role of a school librarian. However, no changes have been made on the recognition of reading activities and a librarian. Based on these results, the study suggest that reading picture books to children could be continuous and highly effective methods to library education system.

This study is supposed to institutionalization's strategies of information literacy instruction(LAI) and library assited instruction considering national level curriculum. The national level curriculum is composed five elements with subjects matter's goal, objects, instructional contents, teaching & learning method, evaluation. Supposed curriculum added cooperative system 'library and information use' subject between other subject, it composed of total 6 elements.

The purpose of this study is to identify elementary school teachers' needs for access points when searching for picture books to be used as teaching media, and suggest ways to improve DLS(Digital Library System) in school libraries. To achieve this purpose, the study examined the access points provided by OPAC(Online Public Access Catalog) systems in seven domestic and foreign libraries. In addition, it conducted an online survey with elementary school teachers, and a total of 220 responses were finally analyzed. It was found that the most needed access points were topic, grade/age, content, subject/chapter, and cross-curricula learning topics, etc. Based on the results, this study suggests providing the most needed access points in DLS, developing controlled vocabulary tools, and improving system functions or the interface to enhance accessibility to picture books.

Through the present training condition of Korean teacher librarians and their supply-demand prospects, this paper pointed out problems both of the educational system and of its supply-demand and suggested the solution as well. Particularly, focusing on the educational system of teacher librarians and the present condition of the training organizations, this paper predicted their supply ability in the future and analyzed the demand which is necessary, when applying the standards of Korean Library Association and School Library Promotional Law with the selective situation of teacher librarians. In this way, the problems of supply-demand imbalance were indicated and, as a method for training the proper number which is required for the future demand, the rearrangement of the approval number of a course of study for the teaching profession and the establishment of Library and Information education department in education college were proposed.

This system can perform efficient administration in a searching, lending and returning books. And also with this system, many styles of reading education is possible by considering properties of Elementary School. Using the system teachers and students can exchange a information about books or reading together. We organized the system to aid teachers in administration and assistance to students by joining the admittance of use, and to manage a library efficiently in consideration of understanding one another and several conditions in use of library. Besides, students can be appraised their reading process, so with the result that they will be a good reader.

The bibliographic records have been built up following the Digital Library System (DLS) cataloging rules in the school libraries. But it is hard to use DLS cataloging rule as the standardization guidelines in building up the bibliographic records in school libraries because it is not the detailed cataloging rules, has inconsistency in its own rules, and disagrees with KCR4 rules. Therefore, this study is to suggest the new amendment for DLS cataloging rule to improve the bibliographic records quality and to produce the standardized bibliographic records. To grasp the problems of the DLS cataloging rules, DLS cataloging rule was analyzed with KCR4 rule and the interviews were conducted to the 9 school librarian that have experienced over 3 years. The result showed that it was needed to correct the terms to accord with KCR4, and to amend the DLS rule in each area.

High speed PC-based digital I/O system, PCI-bus master and slave. set is developed, which features are distributed structure, input/output function interchangeability by switch settings, and high speed(20Mbps). 21st century is called as a knowledge based society. It means that a society has to build an efficient information system to store and retrieve their knowledge and information. I think a school library is a base educational institution to teach information skill and a student has to be trained very well to treat information in 21st century. However school library has not been developed enough in Korea, and so I suggest the strategy of school library development for the new millennium. For the purposes, I divide the environmental elements of school library into two parts -external and internal elements of school library environment- and examine them to suggest some policies. Even though the suggestions are still a little fantastic in the situation of scl~ml library in Korea, they should bc objects to be achieved in someday.

The study has developed the scope and sequence of information literacy instruction's curriculum for integration strategies of traditional reading education, library use education and information literacy. For this purpose, this study compares and analyze the scope and sequence of reading education, library use education and information literacy instruction's curriculum in Korea, American and Japan. Basing on the comparative result, it proposed the scope and sequence of information literacy instruction's curriculum in Korea. The scope and sequence which it proposes based on the skill and process of information literacy model, it includes contents of traditional reading education, library use education.
