In this paper, we propose an algorithm, an optimized architecture, and an implementation for an improved performance of image downscaler. The proposed downscaler uses two-dimensional digital filters for horizontal and vertical scalings, respectively. It also improves scaling precisions and decreases the loss of data, compared with the 1/32 scaler 〔1〕. In order to achieve the optimization, the digital filters are implemented by the multiplexer -adder type scheme 〔2〕. The scaler is designed by using the Verilog-HDL. It is synthesized into gates by using the Samsung 0.35 um STD90 TLM library.

This exploratory study outlines the rationalization of why Ontology's taxonomy requires a strong hierarchy, accuracy, and interoperability in order to be used as a successfully re-useable information management system. Finding the relevant information in a plethora of possible resources by bridging the gap between the user's needs and the resources of the information technology system is the goal that the information management field should find a way to achieve. This study is based on discussions and interviews with a taxonomist, information architect, and information manager, whose discussions were based on the usability and interoperability of the knowledge based information systems. These professional perspectives are necessary as they are the liaison between users and the information technology group. We found that in order for information managers to ensure successful sharing of knowledge across the end users, a common sense language must be issued in order to achieve reasoning for the artificial intelligence system.

This research surveyed college students in Korea on their satisfaction for e-book services provided by university libraries. Their usage behavior was investigated, and the satisfaction rate for e-book usage and its service quality were analyzed to comprehend the status of e-book usage. The analysis showed that overall satisfaction for e-book service of university libraries was 2.93 on average. Moreover, the more frequently a student used the service, the more satisfied the student was; junior/senior-level and graduate school student groups showed higher satisfaction for e-book service than freshman and sophomore students. The most influential factor for satisfaction based on the e-book service quality was the content of the service, followed by the library support service system. Based on the findings, reinforcement of library public relations and user education, and the maintenance of the variety and up-to-date status of the contents were proposed to stimulate future university library e-book services.

Lately, most of the libraries subscribe electronic resources such as e-journals, under the license contracts for the access and use of these electronic resources. It was found that the management of licensed electronic resources in the library has become one of the major problems due to the lack of proper metadata elements in the existing management system of electronic resources. The purpose of the study is to establish metadata for licensed electronic resources.

Recently, various kinds of daylight system are recognized as an important and useful strategy in energy-efficient building designs. However, a large amount of direct sunlight can make many problems. Therefore, it is necessary to control daylighting through louver systems for high quality visual environment. The purpose of this study is to analyze daylighting performance in the reading room of a library according to different azimuths and louver systems. The results evaluated daylight performance based on the RADIANCE lighting software.

정보환경의 변화에 따라 도서관과 웹 검색엔진의 차별성이 있음에도 불구하고 이용자들은 인터넷의 자원과 학술데이터베이스의 자원을 혼동하고 있다. 특히 구글스칼라가 갖는 검색속도와 조작의 편의성이라는 장점에 따라 데이터베이스의 학술적 가치에도 불구하고 구글스칼라를 가장 많이 이용하고 있다. 이 연구에서는 구글스칼라가 갖는 장점을 반영한 메타서치시스템의 특성과 가치를 조사하였다. 조사 대상은 메타서치시스템이 갖는 인터페이스 측면과 전자정보원 측면에서 비교 분석하였다. 이러한 새로운 검색채널로써 메타서치시스템을 이용하는 기관의 이용통계를 분석하여, 이를 바탕으로 구글스칼라와 같은 웹 검색엔진이 갖는 이용자선호가치를 수용하는 상황에서 이용자 이용행태 패턴과 주제별 전자정보 탐색 행위 등을 조사하였다.

School library concentrates its focus on how information literacy is implemented through the collaborative efforts of classroom teachers and teacher librarian. The role of teacher librarian and the competencies they need in order to succeed have changed over many years. However, current LIS education for teacher librarian has limitations in terms of institution, curriculum. In this research, I designed and implemented an Internet-based educational contents development and evaluation for teacher librarian's competency. This system was development by lecture authoring tool(LectureMAKER v2.0). This study tested the effectiveness of the system was verified by survey by 51 college students. The test paper consisted of 20 items(5 scale) for measuring teaching competencies of college students. This study verified effectiveness of the Internet-Based Educational Contents by two dependent samples t-test, Levene test.

This study aims to theoretically examine the educational and living elements that are needed for social education in the school system and suggest an approach to apply this result to the environmental aspects of the space in schools. To do this, characteristics of space in exemplary middle school oversee were analyzed. Also, the characteristics and status of the school space environment that foster socialization were examined. In order to increase students' social skills, the following community space should be considered. 1) teaching and learning spaces facilitating a variety of teaching methods, such as lecture, discussion, seminar classes, 2) open-spaces for communication among students, such as home base, hall, library, museum, and restaurant, 3) open-spaces for STEM education, 4) transparent windows located in the boundary wall between classrooms and hallways, 5) a large performance stage for presentation of student activities and experiences, 6) smart-learning spaces for fluent ICT system in classes and in public spaces, 7) restaurants and libraries located in the middle space of the school, and 8) ecological environments for student learning.

This study aims at examining the ways which a school librarian uses SNS when performing tasks and the use of SNS with the features of the task and the organizational system run by one person affect task performance. In this study, for objective explanation of the interrelation among a librarian's tasks and the use of SNS and performance, the model of a Librarian's Task-SNS Technology Fit was suggested through the combination of the Technology Acceptance Model and the Task-Technology Fit. Based on the result of the survey analysis, their utilization of SNS is not just limited to personal taste nor interferes with their work. Rather, it enhances task performance owing to the characteristics of the tasks or the organization such as the organizational system run by one person.

This article examines the trend of research on mathematical modeling of Yin-Yang and the Five Elements. Through the search engine Google and the library search service of Kyung Hee University, papers that mathematically studied the Yin-Yang Five Elements were searched. Among them, 7 cases published in academic journals were selected and briefly mentioned in the table. And we introduced specific details about four of them. The model format expressing the five elements as a nonlinear system of differential equations was discussed and evaluated.
