The purpose of this study is to clarify the difference between the scoring results by scorer(doctors and standardization patients) and examination dates. A total of 101 students in the fourth grade of medical school participated in four clinical practice test. Students were randomly assigned to either day-1 or day-2, which was consisted of a standardized patient scoring set or a physician scoring set. Station checklists consisted of history taking, physical examination, patient education, physician-patient relationship and clinical courtesy. The achievement scores of each case and each domain were converted to the standard score, and the differences between groups were compared. Female students' achievement scores were significantly higher than male students' achievement scores in all domains. There was no significant difference between means by the standardized patients' group and doctors group. Day-2 group was significantly higher than day-1 group in both of history taking and physical examination domains. If the principles of checklist are clearly defined, the scorer status (either physician or standardized patients) does not determine the difference of students' practice test scores.

Although there are many patients who suffer from cold hypersensitivity and have a difficult time in living daily lives due to feeling cold at room temperature, it is about true that an accurate diagnostic method and an effective remedy for a cold hypersensitivity have not been developed yet. Therefore, in order to develop traditional medicine equipment for cold hypersensitivity, we have designed new oxygen chamber system which can diagnose cold hypersensitivity with multiple bionic sensors and supply a patient optimum amount of oxygen adaptively to the extent of their illness. In particular, diverging from conventional diagnosis based on the experience of doctor and subjective statements of patient, we introduced accurate method for diagnosis in comparing between output of multiple sensors and threshold derived from clinical trials. After all, the proposed oxygen chamber system will contribute to achieving scientific evidence and manufacturing of korean traditional medicine.
When large-scale oil spill happens, it will put the fatal impact on the ecosystem, ultimately harm human being seriously. Accordingly every coastal country invests to improve response technologies, of which oil removal by use of bioremediation agent is taken to be secondary or alternative cleanup method in a specific spilled area In this regards, the author attempts to find out the efficiency and effectiveness of bioremediation agent to oil slick by laboratory experiment as well as the possibility of bioremediation application to future spill accident and gets the some results. In this study, the effectiveness and efficiency of bioremediation agent to oil slick is examined by short-term laboratory test and it is found that bioremediation agent am degrade oils effectively. however, considering the environment c! spill site is quite different from that of lab, the author will carry on the on-scene test of bioremediation for longer period to look into the possibility of biorediation agent as one of oil spill response methods.
Stroke patients need regular medical treatments and rehabilitation training from their doctors. However, severe aftereffects caused by stroke allow them minimum activities, which make it difficult for them to visit doctor. Recently, electric brain stimulation treatment has been found to be better way compared to conventional ones and many are interested in using this method for the treatment of stroke. In this study, we have developed a remote medical treatment system using wireless electric brain stimulator that can help the stroke patients to get a treatment without visiting their doctors. The developed remote medical treatment system connects the doctors to the brain stimulator implanted in the patients via the internet and ZigBee communication built in the brain stimulator. Also, the system receives personal information of the connected patients and cumulates the total records of electric stimulation therapy in a database. Doctors can easily access the information for better treatment planning with the help of graphical visualization tools and management software. The developed remote medical treatment system can be applied to the electric stimulation treatments for other brain diseases with a minor change.

Zhang Yuan-Su(張元素) was a doctor of the Jin(金) period, who was followed by Li Dong-Yuan(李東垣) and Wang Hao-Gu(王好古), creating the Yishui School(易水學派). The most notable aspect of his theory is the internal organs(臟腑)-based diagnostic system. He organized previous methods based on the internal organs and applied the same methodology in treatment as well. The Zangfu-biaoben-xushi-hanre-yongyaoshi(臟腑標本虛實寒熱用藥式) is one of his major publications in which diagnostic and treatment methods are organized in a simple manner. In this book, the diseases of the organs are divided into the tip and root(標本). This paper investigates the standards of categorizing tip and root diseases through analysis of all symptoms of both tip and root diseases of the five internal organs. Then the results of the analysis were used in grasping the similarities and tendencies of the root disease and tip disease. Conclusively, root diseases indicate disorder in the internal organs themselves. Tip diseases indicate disorder in the channels and collaterals, diseases caused by exterior pathogens or symptoms that manifest in the exteriors of the body. Such categorization is thought to have been established to eliminate diagnostic error that could occur from using the same expressive means in describing symptoms with different causes, in the process of forming an uncomplicated diagnostic system.
Purpose: This retrospective chart review study was carried out in order to examine the frequency of delirium, and to identify the risk factors associated with the development of delirium in elderly patients with arthroplasty. Methods: Data were collected from medical records of patients who received arthroplasty during one and half year in a hospital. Three hundred sixty five patients were selected for the study. The onset of delirium was reviewed based on the result of psychological doctor's consultation or nurse's assessment with Confusion Assessment Method and delirium onset risk factors were examined. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, $x_2$-test, Fisher's exact test and logistic regression analysis. Results: Delirium occurred with 31 patients (8.5%) out of 365 patients who underwent arthroplasty. There were statistically significant differences between incidence of delirium and gender ($x_2$=6.11, p=.025), age ($x_2$=32.81, p<.001), hearing difficulty ($x_2$=8.08, p=.012), albumin level of preoperational day (t=-3.43, p<.001), albumin (t=-2.20, p=.028) and hemoglobin level (t=-2.83, p=.005) of operational day. Age and gender were the most significant predictive factors with regard to the incidence of delirium. Conclusion: Through understanding of these results, nurses will be able to identify those patients who may be at risk for developing delirium in early stages.
Objectives: This study investigated the relationship between smoking status and depressive symptoms among Korean adults. Methods: We used the data of 17,871 adults aged 19 years or older from the fifth Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey(2010-2012). The subjects were classified as nonsmokers, former smokers, and current smokers by gender. Logistic regression analysis was used to calculate the odds ratios(ORs) and the 95% confidence intervals(CIs) for the effects of smoking status on depressive symptoms, and depression diagnosed by a doctor. Results: Compared to nonsmokers, the ORs of depressive symptoms for current smokers were 1.11(95% CI, 1.11-1.12) among males, and 1.64(95% CI, 1.63-1.64) among females. Compared to former smokers, the ORs of depressive symptoms for current smokers were 1.05(95% CI, 1.05-1.05) among males, and 1.89(95% CI 1.88-1.90) among females. Compared to nonsmokers, the ORs of depression for current smokers were 0.94(95% CI, 0.94-0.95) among males, and 1.40(95% CI, 1.39-1.41) among females. Compared to former smokers, the ORs of depression for current smokers were 1.09(95% CI, 1.09-1.10) among males, and 0.99(95% CI, 0.99-1.00) among females. Conclusions: Smoking is associated with depressive symptoms among Korean adults. Therefore, it is necessary to consider depressive symptoms with the management of tobacco control policies.

Electrocardiogram and phonocardiogram acquired from ECG and stethoscope by a non-invasive method are bio-signals which laue been a great role in patients diagnosis and used extensively by doctors. And these are mainly used at the examination room or first-and room of hospital. When the patients are located at some places far away from hospital like a car, an airplane and a vessel under way, there are some difficulties in confirming their cardiac sound Especially the patient of ocean going vessel might not have a medical treatment from the professional doctor at times. In this paper, we developed the digital ECG and stethoscope system based on personal computer which can easily measure the patient's cardiac sound and ECG signal, and this might shorten the appearance of the remote maritime telemedicine.
