In this study we analysed time allotment and the contents of a health textbook and its teacher's guide book of the 7th elementary curriculum. We intended to offer the basic data needed to establish the single health education. So the analysed results are as follows according to the health education model developed by the korean nursing association and health teachers' meeting and the teaching time allotment presented by the teacher's guide book. It's goal is practice in regular class time of the subjects for the time and contents of health education in the 7th elementary curriculum. The total class periods of health education of the 7th elementary curriculum are 229 hours and annual periods of health education per year are an average of 38 hours. The health education of the 7th elementary curriculum is separated into the 9 following subjects: Wise life, Pleasant life, Righteous life, We are 1st grade, Physical education, Science, Social studies, moral education and Practical course. The health education of the 6th elementary curriculum was combined with the units of physical education, but in the 7th curriculum it must be separated by a single, required health subject. The contents of health education of the 7th elementary curriculum is mostly dominated by units of community and environmental health with a total of 55 hours (24%). Therefore, the units of home health and social health, development of physical strength are fairly insignificant. The newly added contents in the 7th curriculum are "pregnancy and child birth, the protection and counterplan from rape, the reasons and prevention of stress, the reasons and the treatment of obesity, the damage of smoking and drinking, etc. According to the result above, we must establish the criteria for each year's health education in the 8th elementary curriculum. The contents of mental health, home health and social health should be revised and added new items. The health education that is separated in some subjects now must be established as a systematically integrated health education.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the satisfaction level toward school sex education and its effect on character cultivation by reconstructing a unit, sex and health, included in the current health education curriculum. Methods: The study is a mixed research which utilized both two-way ANOVA & MANOVA methods, and qualitative content analysis. A total of 279 middle school students participated in the pre-test and the sex education program using the reconstructed curriculum. Then, a total of 253 participated in the posttest. Results: The results showed an increase in the satisfaction level toward school sex education (p<.05) and in character (p<.05) in both male and female students. There was no significant difference between male and female students. In the total test for character cultivation, there were no interacting effects between the test and gender (p>.05). Also, in the qualitative analysis, the program helped students to build character including self-care skills Conclusion: By revising the unit of sex and health to meet the needs and demands of the students, curriculum reconstruction increased the students' satisfaction and had a positive effect on their character cultivation.
The purpose of this study was to analyze field application of science subject competences of the 2015 revised curriculum for the second year of application. For this purpose, a survey with 133 elementary school teachers, and in-depth interviews with 10 teachers were conducted. According to the results, elementary school teachers had a positive awareness toward the science subject competence, which is a characteristic of the 2015 revised science curriculum, and teachers were applying the science subject competence to their own classes. This tendency was stronger in teachers in science-leading schools than in teachers in regular schools. Teachers wanted support for applying science subject competencies to their classes. To support this, it is necessary to provide the curriculum materials focused on science subject competencies, reinforce teacher training on competence-related curriculum, and activate the professional teacher community.

To figure out the present status of Korean middle school science curriculum in the national level is not an easy job. especially in the restricted condition such as this research project. Therefore, to achieve a meaningful result, the case study type of research was adopted In the study five middle schools (2boy's and 3girl's)were selected and examined intensively. In this study, two major works were done. One was the analysis of the present middle school science curriculum and the other was to examine the current status of the administration of the curriculum in schools. This first study focused on the evaluation of the current Curriculum. Acording to the result, the objectives stated in the teachers guide and implied by the testbook were heavily concentrated on the knowledge level in Boom's taxonomy. Achievement on the objectives which were selected as important were very low. The average pass rate for the selected objectives was less than 50% of the students. This means the content level of the present science curriculum is not appropriate. The study suggested that the present middle school science curriculum should be revised and the content should be replaced with easier topics to match the students cognitive level. The study also suggested further studies to measure the cognitive level of Korean students in national scale.

ACM's CSTA has drafted standards for computing curricula and recommended them to schools in the United States. The five core concepts of the US elementary school computing curriculum are computing systems, network and the Internet, data and analysis, algorithms and programming, and impacts of computing. In 2005, Korea prepared ICT education guidelines, including five fields, their subfields, and achievement criteria for each subfield. In the 2015 revised curriculum, software education was introduced and five achievement standards were set. The ACM CSTA has 18 achievement criteria up to K-2 and 21 achievement criteria up to K-5. If we compare the 39 achievement standards of the US to Korea, Korea's 2005 ICT education guidelines include 25 of these, and the 2015 revised curriculum includes 5 of them. In this study, we aim to study the CSTA achievement criteria that second graders should know and the achievement criteria that fifth graders should know. This is compared and analyzed with Korea's 2005 ICT Guidelines and 2015 Software Curriculum. In comparison with the number of achievement standards, the US elementary school's computing achievement standards are much higher than in Korea. Comparing with each standard, there are many areas that are not covered in Korean curriculum, and we can see that the 2015 curriculum has rather receded from 2005.

The Purpose of this study was to analyze STS contents in elementary school science textbooks according to 6th, 7th and revision 2007 national curriculum. The contents of STS were analyzed by the STS elements of Yager and the STS topics of Piel's standard. Major findings from the analyses are as follows: (1) The STS contents in the science textbooks of the 6th curriculum took up 13.7% and increased to 18.3% in the 7th and 19.0% in the revision 2007, which showed that the textbooks followed the goal of the national curriculum faithfully. (2) Based on the STS elements by Yager's standard, most of STS content is focused on 'Application of science', 'Social problems and issues' and 'Local and community relevance'. (3) Based on the STS topics by Piel's standard, most of STS contents are focused on 'Effect of technological development' and 'Society of science'. These results indicate that recent STS education trends are reflected on the 6th, 7th and revision 2007 textbooks well. However, it is suggested that some improvement is needed, such as diversification of topic.
In recent years there has been a growing recognition that presenting principally environmental issues in environmental textbooks is a form of local, national, regional, and global issues. The environmental textbook in the 7th environmental curriculum is to be composed of contents that could encourage the inquiry of value and change of attitude to take part in environmental preservation on the foundation of the comprehension about ecosystem. Therefore, the present study analyzed the difference of the contents of the environmental issues between the 7th national curriculum and textbooks in the middle school environmental education. The analytical results of this study are as follows: Firstly, there are total 4 sections related to environmental issues in environmental curriculum of middle schools. The content areas that are included ‘Environmental Preservation and Development’, ‘Getting the Hot Earth’, ‘Decreasing Forest and Increasing Desert’, and ‘Pleasant Surrounding and Quality of Life’. Secondly, an environmental textbooks that are used in school education edited for direction that coincide in motive that is ‘real life-centered education’ that is presenting in the 7th environmental curriculum. Specially, introduction to local environmental issues coincides the intent of the curriculum revisions that are ‘environmental education within everyday life’ and ‘contents of local-centered environmental education’. These findings have implications for teaching about environmental issue in school environmental education.
This study analyzed content on education for sustainable development in middle school science curriculum of $6^{th}$, $7^{th}$, 2007-revised and 2009-revised. Analyses criteria were developed based on literature reviews. This study developed 8 criteria such as health, climate change, urbanization and rural development, water, biodiversity and ecosystem, energy, disaster reduction and management. The results showed that 6th middle school science curriculum has 4 criteria, $7^{th}$ has 2 criteria, 2007-revised has 8 criteria, and 2009-revised has 7 criteria. This study suggests the need for developing systemized teaching material on education for sustainable development that can be integrated in the science curriculum by pursuing the following tasks: First, the goal of education for sustainable development and its need should be stated in the science curriculum. Second, the class content, themes, objectives, teaching-learning programs on education for sustainable development should be produced. Third, within science curriculum, the content should deal with perspectives and topics, and learning goal must pursue value education.

The contents of the guide have been sufficiently detailed and clarified in such a way that can increase understanding of school health education as pursued by the nation. Methods: This is reported research as its contents have been finalized through analysis of documentary records concerned with health education available at both home and abroad, a council of health education experts and public hearings organized for extensive collection of opinions from professor and teachers. Results: The guidebook has been prepared in 5 areas covering respectively "background of revision to health education curriculum", "how health education curriculum has been changed over time", " focus on health education curriculum", "explanations on health education curriculum" and "comparison of new and previous curriculum". Also developed were key initiatives on 6 health related subjects. Conclusion: The greatest significance of this research lies in the fact that it has come up with the first guide book for health education ever prepared in our history. It is also meaningful for the guide book to enable teachers to teach their classes better by providing them with easy interpretation of the contents notified by the government and to have set guidelines for directions in which health of our youths should be promoted. Since this is the first work, continuous research and development should further be carried out in the future.
