테스트 수행시간을 고려한 임베디드 소프트웨어의 적합성 테스트 시나리오 추출 기법 (Conformance Test Scenario Extraction Techniques for Embedded Software using Test Execution Time)

  • 임베디드 소프트웨어의 적합성 테스트는 소프트웨어의 기능이 명세를 따라 정확히 구현되었는지 검사하는 것이다. 적합성 테스트에서 테스트 시나리오는 소프트웨어의 전체 기능을 테스트할 수 있도록 추출되어야 한다. 일반적으로 테스트 시나리오는 단순히 전체의 기능들을 한 번씩 테스트해 보는데 초점이 맞춰져 있다. 하지만 테스트 시나리오는 테스트 수행의 효율성을 고려할 필요가 있다. 이 연구에서는 각 함수들을 테스트하는데 걸리는 시간과 사용자 입력으로 인해 발생하는 대기 시간을 고려하여 최적화된 테스트 시나리오를 추출하는 기법을 제안한다. 테스트 시나리오를 추출하기 위해 상태 머신 다이어그램과 테스트 케이스를 바탕으로 그래프 형태의 테스트 모델을 생성한다. 테스트 모델에는 테스트 수행 시간과 사용자 입력에 대한 정보가 포함되어 있다. 최적화된 테스트 시나리오는 테스트 모델을 기반으로 수정된 최단거리 알고리즘을 이용하여 추출한다. 제안하는 테스트 시나리오 작성 기법을 이용하면 테스트 수행 시간을 줄일 수 있고, 테스트 자동화를 향상시킬 수 있다.

Neural Network based Video Coding in JVET

  • After the Versatile Video Coding (VVC)/H.266 standard was completed, the Joint Video Exploration Team (JVET) began to investigate new technologies that could significantly increase coding gain for the next generation video coding standard. One direction is to investigate signal processing based tools, while the other is to investigate Neural Network based technology. Neural Network based Video Coding (NNVC) has not been studied previously, and this is the first trial of such an approach in the standard group. After two years of research, JVET produced the first common software called Neural Compression Software (NCS) with two NN-based in-loop filtering tools at the 27th meeting and began to maintain NN-based technologies for the common experiment. The coding performances of the two filters in NCS-1.0 are shown to be 8.71% and 9.44% on average in a random access scenario, respectively. All the material related to NCS can be found in the repository of the JVET. In this paper, we provide a brief overview and review of the NNVC activity studied in JVET in order to provide trend and insight for the new direction of video coding standard.

Bayesian Optimization Analysis of Containment-Venting Operation in a Boiling Water Reactor Severe Accident

  • Containment venting is one of several essential measures to protect the integrity of the final barrier of a nuclear reactor during severe accidents, by which the uncontrollable release of fission products can be avoided. The authors seek to develop an optimization approach to venting operations, from a simulation-based perspective, using an integrated severe accident code, THALES2/KICHE. The effectiveness of the containment-venting strategies needs to be verified via numerical simulations based on various settings of the venting conditions. The number of iterations, however, needs to be controlled to avoid cumbersome computational burden of integrated codes. Bayesian optimization is an efficient global optimization approach. By using a Gaussian process regression, a surrogate model of the "black-box" code is constructed. It can be updated simultaneously whenever new simulation results are acquired. With predictions via the surrogate model, upcoming locations of the most probable optimum can be revealed. The sampling procedure is adaptive. Compared with the case of pure random searches, the number of code queries is largely reduced for the optimum finding. One typical severe accident scenario of a boiling water reactor is chosen as an example. The research demonstrates the applicability of the Bayesian optimization approach to the design and establishment of containment-venting strategies during severe accidents.

핵융합 공정주기에서의 생산 계획 최적화 (Mathematical Modeling of Scheduling Problems for the Fusion Fuel Cycle)

  • 본 연구에서는 화학공정 최적화에 사용되는 생산계획최적기법을 도입하여 핵융합 공정에서의 삼중수소 재고량을 최소로 유지하는 수학적 모델을 구축하여 최적 운전 시나리오를 도출하였다. 핵융합 발전을 위한 공정 중 연료주기 공정(fuel cycle)은 반응연료인 중수소와 삼중수소를 저장 하고 공급하는 시스템과 핵융합 반응 배가스로부터 이를 회수 및 분리하는 세부 공정들로 구성되어 있다. 이들 공정들은 삼중수소가 방사성 물질이라는 것을 제외하면 대부분 촉매반응과 분리공정으로 이루어져 화공플랜트에 적용된 기술과 유사한 특성이 많아 화학공정에 사용되는 스케줄링 기법을 통해 최적 운전 시나리오를 도출 가능하다. 본 연구에서는 핵융합로의 다양한 장치의 특성을 반영해서, 펌프내부의 삼중수소량을 최소로 하는 최적 재생주기를 구하고, 구해진 최적 재생주기 결과를 반영하여 후단의 트리튬 플랜트에서의 최적 운전 시나리오를 확인해 보았다. 구축된 모델은 실제 토카막 시나리오에 적용되어 ITER 연료주기 내 공정의 연료흐름 및 밸런스 분석에 활용되었다.

인공지능 쇼핑 정보 서비스에 관한 탐색적 연구 (An Exploratory Study for Artificial Intelligence Shopping Information Service)

  • Purpose - The study was AI as exploratory study on artificial intelligence (AI) shopping information services, to explore the possibility of a new business of the distribution industry. For research, we compare to IBM of consumer awareness surveys an AI shopping information service for retailing channel and target goods group. Finally, we present to service scenario for distribution service using AI. Research design, data, and methodology - First, to identify possible the success of the information service shopping using AI, AI technology for the consumer is very important for the acceptance of judgement. Therefore, we explored the possibility of AI information service for business as a shopping. The experimental data were used to interpret the meaning of the relevant literature and the IBM Institute of Business Value (IBV) Report 2015. This research is based on the use of a technical acceptance model (TAM) to determine whether the consumer would adopt the 'AI shopping information service' technology. Step 1 of the process assumes that the consumer adopts AI technology. In step 2, consumers find their preference channels and goods targeted at them as per their preferences. Finally Step 3, we present scenario for 'AI shopping information service' based on the results of Step 1 and 2. Results - Consumers have expressed their high interests in the new shopping information services, especially the on/off line distribution channels can use shopping information to increase the efficiency in provision of goods. Digital channel (such as SNS, online shopping etc.) is especially high value goods such as cars, furniture, and home appliances by displaying it to an appropriate product group. Conclusions - The study reveals the potential for the use of new business models such as 'AI shopping information service' by the distribution industry. We present seven scenario related AI application refer from IBM suggestion, and the findings would enable the distribution industry to approach target consumers with their products, especially high value goods. 'Shopping advisor' is considered to the most effective. In order to apply to the other field of the distribution industry business, which utilizes AI technology, it should be accompanied by additional empirical data analysis should be undertaken.

동시성을 포함한 액티비티 다이어그램 기반 테스트 시나리오 생성 기법 (A Test Scenario Generation Method from Activity Diagram with Concurrency)

  • 소프트웨어 테스트에 대한 중요도는 오늘날의 산업 전반적으로 커지고 있으며 효과적인 테스트를 지원하기 위한 많은 방법들이 연구되고 있다. 이에 테스트 설계를 위해 시스템의 요구사항을 정형화하는 방법으로 모델 기반 테스트가 주로 사용되고 있는데, 반복과 동시성 작업을 포함하는 복잡한 시스템의 경우 경로 폭발을 야기하기 쉬운 문제가 있다. 특히 동시성 작업의 경우 Thread가 추가될수록 기하급수적인 수의 테스트 시나리오가 발생하게 되는데, 기존의 방법으로는 이를 해결하기 어렵다는 문제가 있다. 본 논문에서는 동시성 경로가 가지는 작업적 특성에 주안점을 두고, 이를 탐색하는 새로운 기법으로 경로 폭발 문제를 회피하는 방법을 제안한다. 사례 연구에서는 동시성 작업을 포함하는 시스템을 액티비티 다이어그램으로 표현하고, 기존의 기법이 생성할 테스트 시나리오의 수와 비교하여 본 기법의 효과를 보인다. 본 방법은 적은 수의 테스트 시나리오를 통해 반복과 동시성 작업의 결함을 효과적으로 발견할 것임을 기대한다.

Generic Training Set based Multimanifold Discriminant Learning for Single Sample Face Recognition

  • Face recognition (FR) with a single sample per person (SSPP) is common in real-world face recognition applications. In this scenario, it is hard to predict intra-class variations of query samples by gallery samples due to the lack of sufficient training samples. Inspired by the fact that similar faces have similar intra-class variations, we propose a virtual sample generating algorithm called k nearest neighbors based virtual sample generating (kNNVSG) to enrich intra-class variation information for training samples. Furthermore, in order to use the intra-class variation information of the virtual samples generated by kNNVSG algorithm, we propose image set based multimanifold discriminant learning (ISMMDL) algorithm. For ISMMDL algorithm, it learns a projection matrix for each manifold modeled by the local patches of the images of each class, which aims to minimize the margins of intra-manifold and maximize the margins of inter-manifold simultaneously in low-dimensional feature space. Finally, by comprehensively using kNNVSG and ISMMDL algorithms, we propose k nearest neighbor virtual image set based multimanifold discriminant learning (kNNMMDL) approach for single sample face recognition (SSFR) tasks. Experimental results on AR, Multi-PIE and LFW face datasets demonstrate that our approach has promising abilities for SSFR with expression, illumination and disguise variations.

온톨로지 매핑 기반 엔지니어링 정보 검색 (Engineering Information Search based on Ontology Mapping)

  • The participants in collaborative environment want to get the right information or documents which are intended to find. In general search systems, documents which contain only the keywords are retrieved. For searching different word-expressions for the same meaning, we perform mapping before searching. Our mapping-based search approach has two parts, ontology-based mapping logic and ontology libraries. The ontology-based mapping consists of three steps such as character matching (CM), definition comparing (DC) and similarity checking (SC). First, the character matching is the mapping of two terminologies that have identical character strings. Second, the definition comparing is the method that compares two terminologies' ontological definitions. Third, the similarity checking pairs two terminologies which were not mapped by two prior steps through evaluating the similarity of the ontological definitions. For the ontology libraries, document ontology library (DOL), keyword ontology library (KOL), and mapping result library (MRL) are defined. With these three libraries and three mapping steps, an ontology-based search engine (OntSE) is built, and a use case scenario is discussed to show the applicability.

The key equations on estimating evacuation time have to be known. In Japan There are many experience of PBD according to the Architectural law.   • Crashworthy design of a train is a systematic approach to ensure the safety of passengers and crews in railway transportation for the prescribed accident scenarios. This approach needs new structural arrangements and designs to absorb higher levels of impact energy in a controlled manner and interior designs to minimize passenger injuries. In this paper, an evaluation method for crashworthiness of Korean tilting train express is introduced. Crush characteristics for each part of tilting train express are evaluated numerically through 3-dimensional shell element analysis with LS-DYNA. Based on a head-on collision and a level crossing collision scenarios, the crash behaviors of tilting train express are evaluated numerically using full-rake collision simulations.
