  • Privacy is one of the most important and difficult research issues in ubiquitous computing. It is qualitative rather than quantitative. Privacy preserving mainly relies on policy based rules of the system, and users cannot adjust their privacy disclosure rules dynamically based on their wishes. To make users understand and control their privacy measurement, we present a scheme to quantize the personal privacy. We aim to configure the person's privacy based on the numerical privacy level which can be dynamically adjusted. Instead of using the traditional simple rule engine, we implement this scheme in a complex way. In addition, we design the scenario to explain the implementation of our scheme. To the best of our knowledge, we are the first to assess personal privacy numerically to achieve precision privacy computing. The privacy measurement and disclosure model will be refined in the future work.

  • The aim of this study was to develop and apply a nursing process simulation scenario for cerebral infarction patients using HPS for nursing students. The effects of this simulation were evaluated and compared with the effects of traditional teaching methods. This study was conducted on 3rd grade students at the College of Nursing from December 7 to December 26, 2018. This study examined 38 subjects in the experimental group and 39 in the control group. This research went through the analysis phase, design phase, and development phase for the development and application of the scenario. The confidence, knowledge, and performance before and after the intervention in the experimental and control groups were analyzed using a t-test. This study developed a simulation scenario based on a nursing process for cerebral infarct patients and was designed to infer three nursing diagnoses. Both groups showed significant pre-post scores except for the clinical performance. The experimental group had higher post-score scores and greater difference between the post-test and pre-test. This study is meaningful in that a standardized scenario of nursing process of infarct patients was developed. In addition, the developed scenario shows the possibility of developing teaching and learning methods that can integrate theoretical learning and practice.

  • As the number of cases of applying IT systems to the existing isolated ICS (Industrial Control System) network environment continues to increase, security threats in the ICS environment have rapidly increased. Security threat scenarios help to design security strategies in cybersecurity training, including analysis, prediction, and response to cyberattacks. For successful cybersecurity training, research is needed to develop valid and reliable security threat scenarios for meaningful training. Therefore, this paper proposes a case-based security threat scenario development methodology for cybersecurity training in the ICS environment. To this end, we develop a methodology consisting of five steps based on analyzing actual cybersecurity incident cases targeting ICS. Threat techniques are standardized in the same form using objective data based on the MITER ATT&CK framework, and then a list of CVEs and CWEs corresponding to the threat technique is identified. Additionally, it analyzes and identifies vulnerable functions in programming used in CWE and ICS assets. Based on the data generated up to the previous stage, develop security threat scenarios for cybersecurity training for new ICS. As a result of verification through a comparative analysis between the proposed methodology and existing research confirmed that the proposed method was more effective than the existing method regarding scenario validity, appropriateness of evidence, and development of various scenarios.

  • Ground-based interceptors(GBI) comprise a major element of the strategic defense against hostile targets like Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles(ICBM) and reentry vehicles(RV) dispersed from them. An optimum design of the subsystems is required to increase the performance and reliability of these GBI. Propulsion subsystem design and optimization is the motivation for this effort. This paper describes an effort in which an entire GBI missile system, including a multi-stage solid rocket booster, is considered simultaneously in a Genetic Algorithm(GA) performance optimization process. Single goal, constrained optimization is performed. For specified payload and miss distance, time of flight, the most important component in the optimization process is the booster, for its takeoff weight, time of flight, or a combination of the two. The GBI is assumed to be a multistage missile that uses target location data provided by two ground based RF radar sensors and two low earth orbit(LEO) IR sensors. 3Dimensional model is developed for a multistage target with a boost phase acceleration profile that depends on total mass, propellant mass and the specific impulse in the gravity field. The monostatic radar cross section (RCS) data of a three stage ICBM is used. For preliminary design, GBI is assumed to have a fixed initial position from the target launch point and zero launch delay. GBI carries the Kill Vehicle(KV) to an optimal position in space to allow it to complete the intercept. The objective is to design and optimize the propulsion system for the GBI that will fulfill mission requirements and objectives. The KV weight and volume requirements are specified in the problem definition before the optimization is computed. We have considered only continuous design variables, while considering discrete variables as input. Though the number of stages should also be one of the design variables, however, in this paper it is fixed as three. The elite solution from GA is passed on to(Sequential Quadratic Programming) SQP as near optimal guess. The SQP then performs local convergence to identify the minimum mass of the GBI. The performance of the three staged GBI is validated using a ballistic missile intercept scenario modeled in Matlab/SIMULINK.

  • Based on spent fuels characteristics from domestic nuclear power plants and a disposal scenario from the current basic plan for high-level radioactive waste management, an improved disposal system has been proposed that enhances disposal efficiency and economic effectiveness compared to the existing disposal system. For this purpose, two disposal canisters concepts were derived from the length of the spent fuel generated from the nuclear power plants. In the disposal scenario, the acceptable amount of decay heat for each disposal container was determined, taking into account the discharge and disposal times of spent fuels in accordance with the current basic plan. Based on the determined decay heat of the two types of disposal canisters and the associated disposal system, thermal stability analyses were performed to confirm their suitability to the proposed disposal system design requirement and disposal efficiency assessment. The results of this study confirm 20% reduction in the disposal area and 20% increase in disposal density for the proposed disposal system compared to the existing system. These results can be used to establish a spent fuel management policy and to design a viable commercial disposal system.

  • Most of the shipbuilding scheduling researches so far have been conducted with stress on the dock plan. That is due to the fact that the dock is the least extendable resource in shipyards and its overloading is difficult to resolve. However, once the dock scheduling is completed, it is also important to make a plan that make the best use of the rest of the resources in the shipyard, so that any additional cost is minimized. This study automates block allocation process by analyzing the existing manual process that designates production bays for the blocks during the midterm planning. Also, a planning scenario validation method is suggested, where block allocation scenarios based on diagrams are edited and simulated.
