Aplasia cutis congenita (ACC) is a rare congenital disorder characterized by skin defects involving the epidermis, dermis, subcutaneous tissue, bone, and sometimes dura. It commonly affects the scalp in approximately 70% of cases, but the neck, trunk, and the extremities can also be affected. ACC can occur either as an isolated condition or associated with other anomalies and congenital syndromes, and it can be acquired either genetically or sporadically. Morbidity and mortality are associated with the defects of skull bone, dura, and other multiple anomalies. We herein report the case of a female infant, with a large scalp defect accompanied by a skull defect noted at birth, who developed mental retardation in the preschool years.

A patient with central post-stroke pain was treated for 4 weeks with scalp acupuncture and traditional Korean medicine (following a cerebral infarction in 2013). The patient presented at Chungju hospital in January 2019 with left side weakness and tingling, numbness in the left hemisphere, chronic pain and dysarthria. Initially, herbal medicine, acupuncture, pharmacupunture, indirect moxibustion, and physiotherapy were administered together with Western medicine, with no improvement in the patient's condition. On Day 5, scalp electroacupuncture (MS1, MS5, MS10, MS11) was introduced. The numbness feeling in the patient's head resolved, and the pain in his upper body decreased. Grip force difference between the left and right hand improved from 3 kg to 0-0.5 kg. Sleep disturbance was resolved after 4 weeks treatment, and his average numeric rating scale score for pain improved from an admission score of 10, to a discharge score of 5. The patient could walk unaided after treatment.

The simple and effective analytical method for the quality control of a novel scalp tonic formulation has been developed and optimized in terms of HPLC conditions and sample preparation method, meanwhile, the optimization of preparation condition was using response surface methodology (RSM) based on central composite design (CCD). Oleanolic acid was selected as marker compound because of its bioactivities for alopecia therapy. The developed analytical method and extraction condition were successfully qualified. Coefficient of determination ($r^2$) for the calibration was 0.9997 with a line passing through the origin point in the range of 0.1-100 mg/mL. The limit of detection (LOD) and the limit of quantitation (LOQ) were 17.5 ng/mL and 55.0 ng/mL, respectively. The intra-day and inter-day precision of the method were 0.5-1.4 % and 0.7-1.8 % in relative standard deviation, respectively, while those accuracy were 99.5-100.9 % and 100.0-102.2 %, respectively. The repeatability of oleanolic acid in samples ranged of 0.3-1.9 % based on peak area and 0.3-0.7 % for retention time. Recoveries from samples were 95.0-99.4 % with lower than 1.8 % in relative standard deviation. Overall, the developed analytical method will be used for quality control of this commercial scalp tonic products successfully.

It is considered to be important to create aesthetically beautiful style through the change of external shape, however for the hair stylists, whose beauty expression is through hair, the role of hair doctor is becoming even more important with focus to improve the hair healthiness. Hair clinic is management of hair and scalp. It is the management process of preventing damages, while improving and cultivating healthy and shiny hair. The current concept in hair management is moving from simple hair styling to emphasis at hair management. As far as hair management is concerned, it usually includes treatment tools such as shampoo, conditioner, hair treatment and scalp scaling system, which is used for diagnosis of hair condition in order to treat the scalp. As the interest of hair healthiness becoming more wide spread, so does the breadth of clinic menu. The wide choice is to fulfill the profound desire of people, whose demands are simply to have variety in their choice. This is resulting in faucets of new value-added and differentiated products. The values that make-up the hair styles consist of mainly design (trend, preference), function(styling, management convenience) and clinic(hair quality improvement, damage repair). Shampoo and conditioner have gone beyond their original function of cleansing to providing combinational functions of treatment, to care and remedy, and advanced massage effectiveness. These are, to name a few that seem to go beyond their original function to satisfy the mental healthiness in people, the King Kong shampoo of shampooings in forward-backward manner, 5-minute shampoo massage that applies sports and relaxation massage, scalp acupunctural message and aural(ear) massage. More and more people are complaining about the damaged hair and hair loss problems due to perms, dyeing and bleaching of hair, in addition to natural scalp and hair damaging factors. Such complaints have stimulated many beauty products and various hair treatment systems being introduced with focus to provide nutrition and prevent damages to scalp and hair. As the living standards improve and the desire of people is to pursue differentiated lives, their demand also increases in hair styling products to fulfill the needs of healthy and aesthetical aspects of their lives.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the difference of scalp and hair care behaviors according to DiSC behaviors of beauty consumer. For the study, 251 questionnaires were analyzed using the SPSS v.18.0 statistical package program. First, there was statistically significant difference in psychological stability, favorable image, and maintaining state of scalp and hair management according to DiSC behavior type. In case of Shin Jung - hyung (C), psychological stability, Positive images, and maintaining good condition. Second, DiSC and hair management behaviors according to DiSC behaviors showed statistically significant difference in state cognition management and product use management. In the case of cognition type (C) and social type (I) Product use management. The results of this study suggest that hair management awareness and behavior, which is dependent on DiSC behaviors of consumers, are provided as basic data for corporate marketing strategy.

Objectives : The main purpose of this study is to investigate the efficiency of Gagamchengyoung-tang (Ji$\bar{a}$ji$\check{a}$nq$\bar{i}$ngy$\acute{i}$ng-t$\bar{a}$ng) and examine the febrile tendency in the alopecia patients Methods : Of the patients who have visited Balmers Korean Medicine clinic for alopecia from December first 2012 to December 31st 2012, we enrolled 30 patients and performed heat and cold diagnosis, examine scalp and check hair density. We administrated Gagamchengyoung-tang(Ji$\bar{a}$ji$\check{a}$nq$\bar{i}$ngy$\acute{i}$ng-t$\bar{a}$ng) and acupuncture to all patients. The effect was assessed by scalp condition and hair density Results : The scalp disorder index decreased and hair density increased in alopecia patients with febrile tendency Conclusions : All patients had febrile tendency and Gagamchengyoung-Tang(Ji$\bar{a}$ji$\check{a}$nq$\bar{i}$ngy$\acute{i}$ng-t$\bar{a}$ng) can be effective in the scalp disorder and alopecia.

In this study, we tried to investigate the efficacy of combined light therapy using low-power lasers at 655 nm and LEDs emitting wavelengths at 625 ± 5 nm and 850 ± 10 nm in hair loss and scalp. A total of 33 subjects were enrolled in this clinical trial. Each subject used the LLLT and LED device on the scalp for 10 min on a daily basis for 12 weeks. After 12 weeks of LLLT and LED device use, there were significant improvements in redness, elasticity, and hydration of the scalp. Additionally, hair luster and tensile strength were improved. A remarkable decrease in total shed hairs was observed in all subjects at 4, 8, and 12 weeks without any serious adverse event. Combined light therapy using LLLT and LEDs proved to be an effective treatment for reducing hair loss and improving scalp condition.

In order to examine the clinical effects on male pattern hair loss, the oriental medicine extract composed of Polygoni multiflori Radix, Angelica gigantis Radix and Lycii Fructus was tested to balding people. 40 males and 10 females were participated in this experiment, and they had spread the extract on their scalp themselves one time a day for 18 months. After 18 months, all participants submitted the reports that had questionnaires to determine the effect of topical oriental medicine extract on hair growth and/or hair loss preventing in balding people. In the results, ir was found that hair density on the entire scalp was gradually increased during the spreading period of the extract in most of balding people. The hair loss was observed about 1 week or 2 months after extract treatment and hair growth was observed about 6 months after extract treatment. In the reports, 74％ of participants answered that the extract was effective on hair growth and hair loss preventing, and improvement of scalp condition. From these results, it is suggested that the extract composed of Polygoni multiflori Radix, Angelica gigantis Radix and Lycii Fructus may be an effective medical care to hair growth and hair loss preventing in human.

Acupuncture has been clinically used to treat patients suffering from eye disease. It has been used in efforts to help preserve vision for those with a wide range of eye conditions including glaucoma and intraocular hypertension. High intraocular pressure (IOP) is usually associated with glaucoma and conventional treatment is focused on lowering IOP. Controlling this risk factor should help hasten the onset of glaucoma for those patents that are suspect or borderline candidates for glaucoma. In review of the limited scientific research there are not many studies that support conclusive evidence for the use of acupuncture on eye diseases and particularly glaucoma and ocular hypertension. For the information that does exist, diverse results from various interventions make it difficult to draw clear conclusions. The existing studies use different acupoints, techniques, frequencies, and durations. Individual treatment strategies according to the practitioner's subjective experience, patient condition, and the use of other complimentary and natural strategies is ideal for taking a more dynamic and wholistic approach to getting results. Until more pragmatic research models are funded and implemented, case reports can offer good examples of experiential and objective outcomes. This case report presents a 61 year old healthy female patient diagnosed with open-angle borderline glaucoma with elevated IOP. The patients IOP was successfully reduced with 12 treatments over three months using scalp electro-acupuncture and distal Master Tung points.

본 논문에서는 AI Hub의 개방 데이터인 '유형별 두피 이미지'를 사용하여 두피 상태에 대한 신경망을 학습한다. 이 두피 상태에는 6가지 상태가 있는데, 각각의 상태들에 대한 평가를 양호(0)부터 심각(3)까지 분류하여 학습한 신경망 모델로 실제 어플리케이션으로 구현하여 사람들의 두피 사진을 찍어서 두피 상태를 진단한다. 이 과정에서 기존 개방 데이터에서 사용했던 값 비싼 두피 진단기를 사용하는 것이 아닌 값싸게 구할 수 있는 스마트폰용 현미경을 사용하여 좀 더 효율적으로 두피 상태를 진단 할 수 있는 어플리케이션을 만들었다. 몇백만 원 상당의 비싼 두피 진단기로 촬영한 사진과 비교하였을 시 평균적으로 65%의 정확도를 보여주고 있으며 데이터가 많은 유형은 77%의 정확도까지도 보여주었다.
