Purpose : This study aimed to investigate the public's perception of reimbursement for the education and counseling services provided to advanced practice nurses in intensive care units. Method : This was a secondary data analysis study. The original data were collected utilizing an online panel. The sample comprised 615 individuals aged between 19 and 49 years nationwide. The study variables included the public's perception of reimbursement for education and counseling services, age, gender, education level, income, and health status. Variables such as past experience of being admitted to an intensive care unit by self, family, or relatives and the recognition of advanced practice nurses were also examined. Results : The mean of the perception score was 3.15 on a 4-point scale ranging from 1 (strongly disagree) to 4 (strongly agree). Among the participants, 89.2% answered "somewhat agreed" or "strongly agreed" to the question about the education and counseling services being covered by the National Health Insurance. Moreover, education level, past experience of being admitted to an intensive care unit by self, family, or relatives, and recognition of advanced practice nurses were significantly associated with the perception score. Conclusion : Efforts should be made to publicize the need for the education and counseling services that are provided to advanced practice nurses in intensive care units.
Purpose: The purposes of this study were to verify the effects of aromatherapy on labor pain and perception of the childbirth experience. Methods: This study was a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. The subjects of this experiment consisted of forty eight primiparas without problems during the gestation period. Twenty four primiparas in the experimental group were given general obstetric nursing care with aromatherapy every two hours. Twenty four primiparas in the control group were given general obstetric nursing care only. Data was collected for labor pain measured by a labor pain expression scale, uterine contraction activity measured by Montevideo units in the latent phase, active phase, and transition phase and the perception of childbirth experience 24hours after birth. Data was analyzed by t-test, and repeated measures of ANOVA with an SPSS program. Results: No significant group effects were found, but significant time effects were found for labor pain, and uterine contraction activity. There was no significant difference in postpartum mothers' perception about childbirth. Conclusion: In this study, effects of aromtherapy decreasing labor pain expression, and increasing the perception of childbirth was not found.
Background: To compare pain perception during palatal injection administration in children aged 7-9 years while using pre-cooling of the injection site versus application of topical anesthesia as a pre-injection anesthetic during the six months. Method: A prospective randomized split-mouth crossover trial was conducted among 30 children aged 7-9 years, who received topical application of either a pencil of ice (test group) or 5% lignocaine gel (control group) for 2 min before injection. The primary and secondary outcome measures were pain perception and child satisfaction, measured by the composite pain score and the faces rating scale, respectively. Unpaired t-test was performed to determine significant differences between groups. Results: The test group had significantly lower pain scores for self-report and behavioral measures (P < 0.0001). The changes in physiological parameters at the baseline (P = 0.74) during (P = 0.37) and after (P = 0.88) the injection prick were not statistically significant. Children felt better by the pre-cooling method (P < 0.0001). Conclusion: Ice application using a pencil of ice for 2 min reduced pain perception significantly compared to the use of a topical anesthetic. Moreover, ice application was preferred by children.

The purpose of this study is to identify the effects of leisure sports participants' leisure attitudes on immersion and fun perception. As of 2021, the subject of this study was set as a population of adult males and females aged 20 and over who participate in leisure sports in Gwangju and the South, and then the cluster random sampling method was used. A total of 300 people, 150 boys and 150 women, were collected. A questionnaire was used as a survey tool, and a questionnaire whose validity and reliability were recognized in previous studies was modified and secured according to this study. In addition, all questionnaires were constructed on a 5-point scale. The statistical analysis used for data analysis was frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, and multiple regression analysis using SPSS Windows 21.0 Version. The conclusions obtained in this study through data analysis by such methods and procedures are as follows. First, it was found that leisure sports participants' leisure attitudes partially affect immersion. Second, leisure sports participants' leisure attitudes were found to have a partial effect on their perception of fun. Third, it was found that the immersion of leisure sports participants partially affects the perception of fun.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of risk perception and opportunistic behavior on project performance and the moderating effect of cooperation in this relationship through literature review to identify factors affecting the performance of large-scale nuclear power plant construction projects. Methods: This study conducted a survey on nuclear power plant construction project participants and verified the hypothesis using statistical methods. Results: The results of this study are as follows; First, risk perception appeared to have a positive effect on opportunistic behavior, and it was confirmed that opportunistic behavior among participating companies could occur even in nuclear power plant construction projects. Second, it has been proven that risk perception has a negative effect on project performance as suggested in previous studies. Third, in the relationship between opportunistic behavior and project performance, it was found that opportunistic behavior had a negative effect on project performance. Finally, cooperation was found to have a moderating effect on the relationship between performance risk and project performance. Conclusion: This study is a case of empirical analysis targeting nuclear power plant construction project workers, and provided a basis for reference in future related academic research and project implementation.

This descriptive study was designed to find out the relation between nurses' perceptions of job-related empowerment, job satisfaction and organizational commitment. The data was collected from 390 staff nurses in a tertiary hospital located in Seoul during the period of 2 weeks from October 6 to October 19, 2000 by means of structures questionnaire. Five instruments were used in this study included the Job Activity Scale(Laschinger et al., 1994, 1999), the Organizational Relationship Scale(Laschinger et al., 1994, 1999), The Conditions of Work Effectiveness Questionnaire(Chandler, 1986), the Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire(Weiss et al., 1967) and the Organizational Commitment Questionnaire(Mowday et al., 1979). The results were summarized as follows: 1) The mean of the CWEQ was 49.56percentile, and the support was perceived higher(56 percentile) than the other subscales, opportunity, information and resources. The mean of the MSQ was 49.4 percentile and the OCQ was 54.02 percentile. 2) Nurses' perception of job related empowerment was significantly related to job satisfaction(r=.650, p<.001), and organizational commitment(r=.458, p<.001). And the job satisfaction was related significantly to organizational commitment(r=.426, p<.001). Job satisfaction(r=.583, p<.001) and organizational commitment(r=.426, p<.001)have higher relation with the opportunity subscales of the CWEQ than the others. 3) The significant difference was found in the nurses' perception of the empowerment, job satisfaction and organizational commitment according to the age group, length of nursing career and ward. 4) Results of the stepwise multiple regression shows that the nurses' perception of the empowerment and organizational commitment explained 52% of job satisfaction, and also, the nurses' perceptions of the empowerment and job satisfaction explained 35% of organizational commitment. In conclusion, nurses' perception of the empowerment, job satisfaction and organizational commitment have a strong relationship. The finding suggests the importance of the empowering nurses to increase job satisfaction and organizational commitment.
This study was designed to investigate effects on cognitive perception. health promotion activity and life satisfaction of elderly. The participants for this study were 292 in senior citizen's center in S-city. The participants were categorized by two groups. one have taken exercise regularly. at least more than one a week for 6 months, the other have not. The measurement tools were the Perceived Benefit Scale developed by Walker, et al. and translated by Kim. Hee Ja(1994), the Life Satisfaction Index developed by Neugarten. etc. and translated by Lee. Ga Ok(1994) and Self efficacy Scale developed by Kim. Hee Ja (1994). The data were collected by personal interviews. which were taken from January 11 to 16. 1999, and analyzed by SAS 6.12. The major results of this study were as follows 1) Scores of self-efficacy were higher regular exercise group than irregular group. 2) Regular exercise group have taken exercise such as jogging, climbing and the other hands irregular group have not. 3) When the participants were categorized by smoking, other health promotion behavior (weight control. diet), both scores of life satisfaction index were higher smoking group than non-smoking group, other health promotion behavior than non-health promotion behavior. 4) There was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of perceived benefit, life satisfaction, From these findings, regular exercise program will be able to provide elderly with opportunity to change positively their lives in cognitive perception. health promotion activity.
The purpose of this study was to develop a perception of importance on patient safety management scale (PI-PSM) for Hospital Employee. The PI-PSM was developed and vallidated as follows: item generation, vertification of content validity, pilot study, and test of validity and reliability. In order to verify preliminary instrument, data was collected from 280 hospital employees. Data were analyzed by Varimax factor analysis and Cronbach's ${\alpha}$. There were 21 items in final instrument categorized into 4 factors as 'concern about patient safety management (7 items)', 'confidence about patient safety management (5 items)', 'will for patient safety management (5 items)', and 'recognition about patient safety management (4 items)'. The total varience explanined was 60.4%. The internal consistency, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$. was .86, and reliability of the sucscales ranged from .69 to .87. The results of this study may useful to assess the perception of importance on patient safety management.
The object of this study was to investigate the relationship between stress and the extent of coronary artery stenosis in 101 patients with coronary artery diseases. Global assessment of recent stress(GARS) scale and perceived stress response inventory were used to measure perception for stressors and stress responses. Biological variables such as the extent of coronary artery stenosis, the number of the affected lesions on coronary angiography, serum Low Density Lipoprotein(LDL)-cholesterol, High Density Lipoprotein(HDL)-cholesterol, and total cholesterol were measured in all the subjects. Scores of perceived stress related to changes in relationship and overall global scores on GARS scale had significantly positive correlation with the extent of coronary artery stenosis. On the other hand, scores of percieved stress related to changes in relationship and changes or no changes in routine had significantly positive correlation with the number of the lesions. Scores of perceived stress related to change or no change in routine also positively correlated with serum level of LDL-cholesterol and total cholesterol. In contrast, general somatic symptoms negatively correlated with the extent of coronary artery stenosis. Impulsive-aggressive behavior negatively correlated with the number of the lesions. However, impulsive-aggressive thinking positively correlated with LDL-cholesterol. The above results suggest that perception for stressors may negatively affect the extent of coronary artery stenosis, the number of the lesions, serum LDL-cholesterol and total cholesterol. However, some stress responses showed inconsistent effect on the above biological variables. Thus, strategies designed to modify perception for stressors and some stress responses are likely to help the patients minimize the extent of coronary artery stenosis and prevent the diseases.
This study was conducted to acquire data in order to institute an effective industrial accident compensation insurance(IACI) system. The subjects were employers and employees in small scale industries which have less than 5 employees. The questionnaires consisted of questions on perception and need for IACI. A total of cases were 181 employers and 105 employees participated in the study. Perception and need of employers and employees were assessed using the ANOVA, t-test. The results were as follows ; 1. Workplaces examined mostly in manufacturing(78.9%), industries with one employee(44.1%). Beneficiary rate of IACI 4.4%. 2. 60.0% of employees had experienced an industrial accident and in most cases employers paid the cost of medical treatment. 45.0% of employers nd 50.0% of employees were not aware that IACI had been put into effect starting July, 1, 2000. 52.0% of employers had no type of industrial accident compensation. 3. The need of outcome measures, especially of employers and employees who had an IACE, were higher than those without an IACI. Employers and employees who had experienced an industrial accident outnumbered those who hadn't. The results of this study reveal that there is a great need for the institution of an IACI and health promotion policy in small scale industries.
