The purpose of this paper is to integrate various models of price formation and let the data choose the most proper model. After the data choose the proper model, one can analyze the price formation process and demand structures for fishery resources under the restriction of Korean fisheries regulations. This study suggests the integrated model including quasi-linear price formation model, Translog price formation model, AIDS price formation model and Lewbel price formation model as level variables. It also suggests another integrated model including AIDS price formation model, Rotterdam price formation model, Latinen-Theil price formation model and Neves price formation model as difference variables. The empirical results show that the AIDS price formation model is the most preferred in both level and difference variables of fishery resources. The estimated parameters show that all sample species have (-) sign of price flexibilities, thus following the law of demand. The scale flexibilities of all species are estimated as (-) sign, thus being adapted to the theory. The contribution and results are summarized as follows. First, the integrated model of fishery market demand has been developed and the data can choose the proper model without arbitrary choice of the researcher. Second, the fishery market demand structure could be analyzed in a way different from the ordinary demand analysis, which is based upon price flexibility and scale flexibility. Third, the integrated model for fishery resources can be used easily when catching restrictions are imposed by policies.
We introduce new methods to measure distance in precision using large scale structure formation. The accuracy to determine geometrical factors is enhanced in comparison to the previous method known as BAO. We determine both D_A and H simultaneously as well as structure of growth of density fluctuations and peculiar velocities. Our method is independent of any given prior on large scale structure formation such as the shape of spectra.
Scale is formed when hard water is heated or cooled in heat transfer equipments such as heat exchangers, condensers, evaporators, cooling towers, boilers, and pipe walls. When scale deposits in a heat exchanger surface, it is traditionally called fouling. The objective of the present study is to investigate the formation of fouling in a heat exchanging system. A lab-scale heat exchanging system is built-up to observe and measure the formation of fouling experimentally. Water analyses are conducted to obtain the properties of HAN river water. In the present study a microscopic observation is conducted to visualize the process of scale formation. Hardness of HAN-river water is higher than that of tap water in Seoul.
Fouling by inorganic scales needs to be prevented to effectively operate sea water reverse osmosis(SWRO) membrane systems. The extents of inorganic scaling with different array designs including one-pass, two-pass and several hybrid designs were evaluated using seawater from southern sea near the city of Chang-Won. The used methods for evaluation were Stiff and Davis Index(S&DSI) calculation and several laboratory experiments. The formation potential of inorganic scale fouling was quite great under the examined conditions, which was confirmed by the laboratory experimental results. The inorganic scale was not avoidable fouling if any anti-scaling measures were not applied. The RO showed decreased flux under the scale formation conditions. The increases in S&DSI from 1.43 to 5 made small decreases in flux, which indicated that formation of inorganic scales had more substantial effects on RO flux than amount of inorganic scales.

In this paper, the effects of scale formation in engine water jacket upon the thermal durability of engine itself and its component parts were studied. To understand the effect of quality of water, a full load engine endurance test for 50 hours was carried out with not-treated underground water. The followings were found through the tested engine inspection after the endurance test; 1-2 mm thick scale formation in the engine water jacket, valve seat wear, piston top land scuffing, piston pin stick, and cylinder bore scuffing in siamese area. In order to understand the causes of above test results, the heat rejection rate to coolant, the metal surface temperature of combustion chamber, and the oil and exhaust gas temperatures were measured and analyzed. The scale formed in the engine water jacket played a role as thermal insulator. The scale formed in the engine reduced the heat rejection rate to coolant and it caused to increase the metal surface temperature. The reduced heat rejection rate to coolant increased the heat rejection rate to oil and exhaust gas and increased the oil and exhaust gas temperature. Also, the reasons of valve seat wear, piston top land scuffing and cylinder bore scuffing, and piston pin stick quantitatively analyzed in this paper.

The electroless plating process largely consists of substrate cleaning, seed formation (activator formation), and electroless plating. The most widely used activator in the seed formation step is Pd, and Sn ions are used to facilitate the formation of this Pd seed layer. This is problematic because the Sn ions interfere with the reduction of Cu ions during electroless plating; thus, the Sn ions must be removed by a hydrochloric acid cleaning process. This method is also expensive due to the use of Pd. In this study, Cu electroless plating was performed by forming a seed layer using a silver nanosol instead of Pd and Sn. The effects of the Ag nanosol concentration in the pretreatment solution and the pretreatment time on the thickness and surface morphology of the Cu layer were investigated. The degrees of adhesion to the substrate were similar for the electroless-plated Cu layers formed by conventional Pd activation and those formed by the Ag nanosol.
An electrodialysis process was operated for a long period to investigate the scale formation on the membrane surface. During the desalination process, concentration of $Ca^{2+}$ and $SO_4^{2-}$ ions increased continuously in the concentrate compartment and eventually caused precipitation on the cation exchange membrane (Neosepta CMX) surface. During the initial scale formation, the performance of the process and membrane characteristics did not show significant changes, except the decrease in limiting current density of the CMX membrane occurring due to increase in the salt concentration in the concentrate compartment. Eventually, the limiting current density of the fouled CMX membrane dropped significantly to $300\;A/m^2$ as water dissociation occurred in the CMX membrane. It was concluded that the fouling was caused mainly by the scale formation on the cation exchange membrane surface in the concentrate and consequent water dissociation. Also the scale formation was reasonably predicted by the solubility of $CaSO_4$.
During the hierarchical formation of large scale structure in the universe, the progressive collapse and merging of dark matter should inevitably drive shocks into the gas, with nonthermal particle acceleration as a natural consequence. Two topics in this regard are discussed, emphasizing what important things nonthermal phenomena may tell us about the structure formation (SF) process itself. 1. Inverse Compton gamma-rays from large scale SF shocks and non-gravitational effects, and the implications for probing the warm-hot intergalactic medium. We utilize a semi-analytic approach based on Monte Carlo merger trees that treats both merger and accretion shocks self-consistently. 2. Production of $^6Li$ by cosmic rays from SF shocks in the early Galaxy, and the implications for probing Galaxy formation and uncertain physics on sub-Galactic scales. Our new observations of metal-poor halo stars with the Subaru High Dispersion Spectrograph are highlighted.

Scale is formed when hard water is heated or cooled in heat transfer equipments such as heat exchangers, condensers, evaporators, cooling towers, boilers, and pipe walls. When the scale deposits in a heat exchanger surface, it is conventionally called fouling. The objective of the present study is to analyze the process of the fouling formation in a heat exchanger according to different types of water using visualization techniques. In order to experimentally investigate the formation of the fouling, this study built a lab-scaled heat exchanging system. Using the visualization techniques of Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and X-Ray diffraction method, the three dimensional configurations of the fouling formation could be successfully obtained. Based on the experimental results, it was found that the configurations of the fouling formation were different when using tap water compared to river water.
It is yet to be understood what controls the star formation activity in high-redshift galaxy clusters. One recently proposed mechanism is that the star formation activity in galaxy clusters are fed by gas and galaxies in large-scale structures surrounding them, which we call as "web feeding model". Using galaxies in the COSMOS2015 catalog, with mass completeness at log(M/M⦿)≥9.54 and reliable photometric redshift data (σΔz/(1+z) ≲ 0.01), we study the star formation activities of galaxy clusters and their surrounding environment to test the web feeding model. We first identify the overdense regions with number density exceeding the 4σ-level from photometric redshift data as galaxy clusters, and we find that they are well matched with clusters identified in the X-ray extended source catalog. Furthermore, we identify galaxy large scale structures, and will present the correlation or anti-correlation between quiescent galaxy fraction, an indicator of star-forming activity, and the prevalence of galaxy large scale structures.
