Sb-doped $SnO_2$(ATO) thin films were prepared using electrospinning. To investigate the optimum properties of the electrospun ATO thin films, the deposition numbers of the ATO nanofibers(NFs) were controlled to levels of 1, 2, 4, and 6. Together with the different levels of deposition number, the structural, chemical, morphological, electrical, and optical properties of the nanofibers were investigated. As the deposition number of the ATO NFs increased, the thickness of the ATO thin films increased and the film surfaces were gradually densified, which affected the electrical properties of the ATO thin films. 6 levels of the ATO thin film exhibited superior electrical properties due to the improved carrier concentration and Hall mobility resulting from the increased thickness and surface densification. Also, the thickness of the samples had an effect on the optical properties of the ATO thin films. The ATO thin films with 6 deposited levels displayed the lowest transmittance and highest haze. Therefore, the figure of merit(FOM) considering the electrical and optical properties showed the best value for ATO thin films with 4 deposited levels.
Solution-based Sb-doped $SnO_2$ (ATO) transparent conductive oxides using a low-temperature process were fabricated by an electrospray technique followed by spin coating. We demonstrated their structural, chemical, morphological, electrical, and optical properties by means of X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, field-emission scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, Hall effect measurement system, and UV-Vis spectrophotometry. In order to investigate optimum electrical and optical properties at low-temperature annealing, we systemically coated two layer, four layer, and six layers of ATO sol-solution using spin-coating on the electrosprayed ATO thin films. The resistivity and optical transmittance of the ATO thin films decreased as the thickness of ATO sol-layer increased. Then, the ATO thin films with two sol-layers exhibited superb figure of merit compared to the other samples. The performance improvement in a low temperature process ($300^{\circ}C$) can be explained by the effect of enhanced carrier concentration due to the improved densification of the ATO thin films causing the optimum sol-layer coating. Therefore, the solution-based ATO thin films prepared at $300^{\circ}C$C exhibited the superb electrical (${\sim}7.25{\times}10^{-3}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$) and optical transmittance (~83.1 %) performances.

The p-type $(Bi_{0.2}Sb_{0.8})_2Te_3/(Pb_{0.7}Sn_{0.3})$Te functional gradient material (FGM) was fabricated by hot-pressing the mechanically alloyed $(Bi_{0.2}Sb_{0.8})_2Te_3$ and the 0.5 at% $Na_2Te-doped$$(Pb_{0.7}Sn_{0.3})Te$ powders. Also, the n-type $Bi_2(Te_{0.9}Se_{0.1})_3/PbTe$ FGM was processed by hot-pressing the mechanically alloyed $Bi_2(Te_{0.9}Se_{0.1})_3$ and the 0.3 wt% Bi-doped PbTe powders. With ${\Delta}T$ larger than $300^{\circ}C$, the p-type $(Bi_{0.2}Sb_{0.8})_2Te_3/(Pb_{0.7}Sn_{0.3})Te$ FGM exhibited larger thermoelectric output power than those of the $(Bi_{0.2}Sb_{0.8})_2Te_3$ and the 0.5 at% $Na_2Te-doped$$(Pb_{0.7}Sn_{0.3})Te$ alloys. For the n-type $Bi_2(Te_{0.9}Se_{0.1})_3/PbTe$ FGM, the thermoelectric output power superior to those of the $Bi_2(Te_{0.9}Se_{0.1})_3$ and the 0.3 wt% Bi-doped PbTe was predicted at ${\Delta}T$ larger than $300^{\circ}C$.
0.5 at% $Na_2$Te-doped ($Pb_{0.7}Sn_{0.3}$)Te and ($Bi_{0.2}Sb_{0.8}$)$_2$$Te_3$ powders were fabricated by mechanical alloying process. 0.5 at% Na$_2$Te-doped ($Pb_{0.7}Sn_{0.3}$)Te powders were charged at one end of mold and ($Bi_{0.2}Sb_{0.8}$)$_2$$Te_3$ powders were charged at the other end of a mold. Then these powders were hot-pressed to form p-type ($Pb_{0.7}Sn_{0.3}$)Te/($Bi_{0.2}Sb_{0.8}$)$_2$$Te_3$ functional gradient materials with the segment ratios (the ratio of ($Pb_{0.7}Sn_{0.3}$)Te to ($Bi_{0.2}Sb_{0.8}$)$_2$$Te_3$ ) of 1:2, 1:1, and 2:1. Power generation characteristics of the ($Pb_{0.7}Sn_{0.3}$)Te/($Bi_{0.2}Sb_{0.8}$)$_2$$Te_3$ were measured. When the temperature difference ΔT at both ends of the specimen was larger than $300^{\circ}C$, the ($Pb_{0.7}Sn_{0.3}$)Te/($Bi_{0.2}Sb_{0.8}$)$_2$$Te_3$ with the segment ratios of 1:2 and 1:1 exhibited larger output power than those of the ($Bi_{0.2}Sb_{0.8}$)$_2$$Te_3$ and 0.5 at% $Na_2$ Te-doped ($Pb_{0.7}Sn_{0.3}$)Te alloys. The maximum output power of the ($Pb_{0.7}Sn_{0.3}$)Te/($Bi_{0.2}Sb_{0.8}$)$_2$$Te_3$ predicted with the measured Seebeck coefficient and the estimated electrical resistivity was in good agreement with the measured maximum output power.

Thermal stability of $Ge_2Sb_2Te_5$ (GST) and $SiO_2$ doped GST (SGST) films for phase change random access memory applications was investigated by observing the change of surface roughness, layer density and composition of both films after isothermal annealing. After both GST and SGST films were annealed at $325^{\circ}C$ for 20 min, root mean square (RMS) surface roughness of GST was increased from 1.9 to 35.9 nm but that of SGST was almost unchanged. Layer density of GST also steeply decreased from 72.48 to 68.98 $g/cm^2$ and composition was largely varied from Ge : Sb : Te = 22.3 : 22.1 : 55.6 to 24.2 : 22.7 : 53.1, while those of SGST were almost unchanged. It was confirmed that the addition of a small amount of $SiO_2$ into GST film restricted the deterioration of physical and chemical properties of GST film, resulting in the better thermal stability after isothermal annealing.
By using the spectroscopic ellipsometry, we have measured and analyzed the optical characteristics of P $r^3$$^{+}$-doped selenide glasses of Ge-Sb-Se system, a strong candidate material for U band fiber amplifiers. The ellipsometric spectra measured in the transparent wavelengths range of the material were all fitted to a model consisting of ambient/roughness/thin fil $m_strate structures to obtain simultaneously the optical properties such as refractive index, in terms of Sellmeier parameters and film structure of P $r^3$$^{+}$-doped selenide glasses. Repeated measurements on different positions in both polished faces rendered to verify positional dependence of measured spectre-ellipsometric data. Hence, the model made possible the analysis of the optical characteristics of the glasses. Even though surface roughness was mainly responsible for the position dependencies, the averaged refractive indexes were as precise as to reflect the minute compositional change tantamount to 1 mol%. The measured refractive indexes are useful for design of core and clad compositions of single-mode selenide optical fibers.

In ours study, we investigated the various properties in Te-light doped $Sb_{85}$G $e_{15}$ thin films such as the change of reflectance and transmittance according to phase change from amorphous to crystalline states In all films the transmittance was decreased, but the reflectance was increased by annealing. Particularly, the reflectance between as- deposited state and annealed state showed the largest change in the T $e_{0.5}$($Sb_{85}$G $e_{15}$ )$_{99.5}$ thin film at 780nm, which was about 40% in as-deposited state and about 70% in annealed state. Therefore, it might be considered that the T $e_{0.5}$($Sb_{85}$G $e_{15}$ )$_{99.5}$ thin film is recording medium showing to a good optical properties if it is used to optical recording of the phase change type. change type.ype.
The photoelectrochemical properties of the reduced $TiO_2$ceramic electrodes are investigated varying the thickness of the electrodes and the amounts of $Sb_2O_3$ as dopant. As the thickness of the undoped. $TiO_2$ceramic electrode increases the photocurrent tends to decrease. However for the R-F sputtered $TiO_2$ thin film electrodes the photocurrent tends to increase to about 1$\mu\textrm{m}$ thick and then decreases with increasing thickness. For the $TiO_2$ ceramic electrodes doped with $Sb_2O_3$ the photocurrent decreases with inreasing the amounts of dopant and in the case of rapid cooling in air without reduction treatment the photocurrent shows lower value. Also visible light excitation is observed at 500~550(nm) wavelength for the $TiO_2$ ceramic electrodes doped with $Sb_2O_3$comparing wtih the $TiO_2$ ceramic electrodes (~420nm)

Sb(111) is a spin textured surface due to the strong spin-orbit coupling, often viewed as a proto-type topological insulator. We used scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) to characterize various Mn-induced subsurface defects existing at the surface of Mn-doped Sb at 50 K. Our STM images show that every defect exhibits 3-fold symmetry with a single rotational orientation and can be categorized by their shapes and sizes. We found more than 10 types of subsurface defects with distinctive orders, which allows the resolution of the vertical positions of the magnetic dopants lying more than 10 layers down from the surface. We will discuss about our findings in comparison with theoretical results.

Ni-doped $CoSb_3$ was prepared by the encapsulated induction melting and hot pressing, and its doping effects on the thermoelectric properties were investigated. Single phase $\delta-CoSb_3$ was successfully obtained by the subsequent heat treatment at 773K for 24 hours. Nickel atoms acted as electron donors by substituting cobalt atoms. Thermoelectric properties were remarkably improved by the appropriate doping.
