Background: Happiness is one of the most important indicators of health, wellbeing, and quality of life among older adults. The objective of the study was to investigate factors associated with happiness among senior citizens residing in rural areas using the 2017 National Survey of Older Koreans. Methods: A cross-sectional analytical study was conducted among 3,149 senior citizens living in rural areas using secondary data from the 2017 National Survey of Older Koreans. Happiness was measured by a single question and responses were recorded dichotomously. Descriptive and inferential statistics were computed at a 5% level of significance. Results: In all, 64.5% of the participants considered themselves as happy most of the time in the last 1 week. In the study, socio-demographic factors did not predict happiness except age. Satisfaction with a health status, financial situation, relationship with children, cultural satisfaction, and satisfaction with friends and society were positively associated with happiness among senior citizens residing in rural areas of Korea. Odds of reporting happiness were higher among those who traveled in the last 1 year, visited elderly welfare centers, and were involved in voluntary work than among those who did not. Conclusion: Happiness among senior citizen was significantly associated with life satisfaction with regard to health, finance, relationship with family, friends and society, and social activity participation.

The purpose of this study was to examine the variation in professors' satisfaction with faculty development programs and in their teaching efficacy according to their demographic characteristics and the rate of participation in faculty development programs in a medical school. The data were collected from 59 faculty members who participated in the Professor's Seminar. The questionnaire consisted of three parts: general background of the respondent; satisfaction with the faculty development program; and teaching efficacy. The data were analyzed by methods of descriptive analysis, analysis of variance, and the Mann-Whitney U-test. The program satisfaction of faculty members was significantly different by the years of educational career but it was not different by job status, specialty, gender, and the participation level in faculty programs. The faculty members' teaching efficacy differed significantly by gender and the participation level in faculty programs, while it did not differ by educational career, job status, or specialty. The results of this study suggest that various faculty programs should be developed to increase the satisfaction level of different groups of faculty members, and that they should be more focused on teaching efficacy, as it is considered to be one of the most effective way to increase the quality of education.
Purpose: This study was to identify the influence of sexual behavior, body image, social support, and other characteristics on sexual satisfaction in patients with breast cancer according to their participation in a support group. Method: Data was collected by self-report questionnaires. Participants included 63 patients attending a support group and 76 patients who did not participate in the support group. The questionnaire sections consisted of sexual satisfaction, sexual behavior, body image, social support and information on general characteristics, disease-related characteristics, and sexual life-related characteristics. Result: There was no statistically significant difference in sexual behavior, body image and sexual satisfaction between the two groups. Social support scores were significantly higher in the support group. Sexual satisfaction was positively related with sexual behavior, post-op change of sexual intercourse frequency, body image, and patient's education level, and negatively related to age in the support group. Sexual satisfaction was positively related with sexual behavior, social support and body image in the non support group. Sexual behavior is predictable 37.0% of sexual satisfaction in the support group. Sexual behavior, body image, and social support is predictable for 38.0% of the sexual satisfaction in non support group participants. Conclusion: Implications point to the need for the development and implementation of programs that focus specifically on sexual life issues for breast cancer patients, as well as further research measuring the effects of such intervention programs. Continuous education and counseling through participation in support groups can contribute to promote and affirm a healthy sexual life for patients with breast cancer.
This study aims to identify the effect of the mental health and leisure competence of senior citizen through participation in archery activity on satisfaction in their life. To achieve the purpose, the study interviewed members of the Archery and Sports Association living in Gwangju, Jeonnam and Jeonbuk using a questionnaire and collected 328 valid responses. The questions as measuring instruments such as leisure competence, depression, self-esteem, and satisfaction level which were developed by previous studies were revised for this study. For a statistics, a frequency analysis, a descriptive analysis, a correlation analysis, and a structural model analysis were conducted. As a result, first, the higher self-esteem of the subjects, the more they participated in archery and were satisfied with their life. Second, the lower depression they had, the more they participated in archery and were satisfied with their life. Third, as leisure competence of the subjects was not a main factor of archery participation, the related assumption was rejected. The mental health of the senior citizen such as self-esteem and depression was a factor of participation in archery and their satisfaction with their life grew higher through participation in archery.
So far the study on college graduates has been concentrated on employment and wages. But if college graduates get a job, this study want expanding to the study of the suitability of their level to the job or the job satisfaction. For this study, structural equation model was built up to verify the influencing factors on the job suitability and job satisfaction of college graduates by using data of '2007 Graduates Occupational Mobility Survey(GOMS)'. To put it concretely, job suitability and job satisfaction were analysed based on the leading factors such as vocational value of graduates and the participation of employment supporting program in university. Analyses showed that the vocational value has a positive influence on the job suitability and the job satisfaction as well as the participation of employment support program. And the participation of employment supporting program influenced positively on the job satisfaction and the job suitability while in work. Besides we found that the job suitability has a positive impact on the job satisfaction. These confirmed that the vocational value while in school is very important and plays an important role in the job suitability and the job satisfaction with their jobs while in work. Also those who have a higher vocational value take part in the various employment supporting programs and experience the job satisfaction and the job suitability while in work. Therefore we found that the various employment supporting programs play an important role for the graduates. Accordingly, the school authorities and job centers have to strengthen the value education for the enrolled student to plant a vocational value and improve and reinforce the employment supporting program in university.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of reading activity of employees in public libraries on their job satisfaction and organizational commitment which was suggested by previous studies proving the relationship among the variables in the business area. The results from the survey indicate that there were significant differences in job satisfaction, satisfaction with human relationship, satisfaction of self-realization, affective commitment, and continuance commitment in terms of the frequency of participation in a book club. Additionally, the number of employees' reading books and hours spent for reading significantly influenced their job satisfaction and the hours spent for reading significantly influenced affective commitment. It was also found that participation continuity for a book club influenced on satisfaction level of social recognition, continuance commitment, and normative commitment. Job satisfaction level had a complete mediation effect between reading hours and affective commitment, and satisfaction from social recognition had a complete mediation effect between participation continuity in a reading meeting, continuance commitment, and normative commitment. Based on these results, this study suggests a plan for constructing a good environment for employees to read through introducing a reading management as follows. Firstly, managers of public libraries need to take an active interest in reading management and various programs to encourage employees to read need to be provided. Secondly, public libraries are required to encourage their employees' participation in book clubs and support them, so that the employees are able to participate in the book club consistently. Finally, institution-level consistent motivation is needed for an active reading activity.

This study aims to examine the relationship between teachers' parcitipation levels in the decision making process and the organizational effectiveness in the middle schools. To achieve this objectives, 559 teachers of 18 middle schools in Busan were involved through a questionaire. The results are as follows: First, teachers consider their participation in decision-making to be low. Second, teachers view the effectiveness of school systems higher than average. Third, the correlation between teachers' participation and the system effectiveness (including job satisfaction, organization adaptability and job achievement) was positively high. When teachers' participation levels were divided into 3 groups - low, middle, and high-, the system effectiveness appeared highest with the high- level participation group. These results suggest the need for teacher participation in decision making to enhance the effectiveness of school systems.
Recently, interest in rural tourism for urban dwellers has increased, and rural communities are chosen as tourist destinations. Under these circumstances, the study was designed to analyze the effects of the quality of service at rural stay sites on customer satisfaction and recommendation intention. The analysis method analyzes the demographic characteristics of the survey participants and characteristics of participation in rural stay. And the quality of service for the experience of rural stay was analyzed with SERVQUAL'S five-dimensional type, reliability, assurance, responsiveness, empathy, tangible and customer satisfaction, intent of recommendation and regression. Major analysis shows that the survey subjects were found to have an average age of 41.8 years, 49 to 59 years old, and a high degree of university graduation. And as characteristic of participation, the form of company was family and relatives, the form of family meeting was many summer, the reservation was Internet, and payment by cash and card were many. As a result of the hypothesis testing, reliability, assurance, responsiveness, and empathy among the quality of service of rural stay were affected in customer satisfaction. In addition, the quality of service and the intent to recommend it were statistically significant, reliability, assurance and empathy. Therefore, it is deemed necessary to make efforts to improve service quality as the quality of service at rural stay places has relevance to customer satisfaction and recommendation intention.
This study was to find out relations among sports values of participants in sport for all, satisfaction of participation and intention to adhere to exercise. Objects of study were participants in sport for all and data had been collected by convenience sampling method. Among 250 copies of data, 233 copies had been used for final analysis. Collected data had been analyzed with frequency analysis, correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis by using of SPSS 21.0. The results from those processes are as below. First, value of personality, physical value, psychological value, and social value have positive effects on satisfaction of participation. Second, value of personality, psychological value, value of entertainment and physical value have positive effects on intention to adhere to exercise.

The engineering knowledge and technology is core driving forces of continuous growth in knowledge based society. Companies, the government, and universities are the subjects of an innovation and the cooperation between them is very important. Nowadays, the main purpose of industry-university cooperation moves to train experts and develop a new product. A shift of the paradigm came from the change of recognition that the final consumers of the program are companies and the universities are supporters of the program. In this paper, we investigate the purpose, participation and satisfaction of companies to industry-academy technology cooperation through empirical studies. The need to expert training, product development and process development makes companies participate industry-academy technology cooperation and companies have different purpose of participation by the business type. Companies often feel that expert training, subsidiary purpose of industry-academy technology cooperation, is more important than product development or process development. This result is caused by the real world environment of small and mid-size companies, lacking of technology experts. The participation of companies to each technology cooperation program (technology transfer, joint technology development, consigned technology development, technology consulting, co-op. lab.) is also different by business type. The companies' satisfaction with the purpose of process development is relatively higher than that with the purpose of product development and companies show also different satisfaction value by business type and participating program. The results of this study can give a contribution to the design of demand oriented industry-academy technology cooperation model.
