Academic Research Inspired Design of an Expository Organic Chemistry Lab Course

  • In this paper, we present fortified instructional methods that contributed in improving students' interest toward the expository organic chemistry laboratory course. Reformed TA (Teaching assistant) training and allocation method, a thorough course orientation session, text-light/graphics-heavy results PPT reports, and journal article templated-term papers have improved students' satisfaction in the organic chemistry laboratory course. These methods could be implemented while maintaining the traditional organic chemistry laboratory instruction styles and hence could be broadly applicable.

  • 본 연구는 웹 기반 학습 상황에서 전자 텍스트 문서 공간에 대한 시각적 이해를 돕고 네비게이션을 지원할 수 있는 시각적 조직자(visual organizer)의 구현에 관한 것이다. 선행 연구된 시각적 조직자의 설계원리에 따라 시각적 조직자를 개발하고 방향감 상실, 인터페이스 만족도, 지각된 유용성과 사용 용이성, 지속적 이용의도 측면에서의 효과를 분석하였다. 그 결과 기존 웹 기반 학습 프로그램에 비해 모든 면에서 긍정적인 효과를 볼 수 있었다.

운동선수의 지도행동유형이 선수만족 및 운동몰입에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of the Leadership Style on Player Satisfaction and Exercise Flow of Athletic Players)

  • 본 연구는 운동선수의 지도행동유형이 선수만족 및 운동몰입과의 관계를 규명하여 선수의 능력을 향상시켜서 경기력을 높이는데 목적이 있다. 표집방법으로 비확률표본추출법을 이용하였고, 설문지의 총 381부를 자료 분석에 사용하였다. 설문지는 SPSS/PC+ Window용 21.0 version 통계프로그램을 이용하여, 연구 대상자의 빈도 분석과 요인분석, 상관관계 분석, 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 첫째, 운동선수의 지도행동유형인 훈련과 지도행동, 민주적 행동, 긍정적 피드백, 사회적지지에서 선수만족 및 운동몰입에서 상호관련성은 정적(+)인 상관관계가 나타났으며, 지도행동유형의 권위적 행동에서는 운동몰입에 상관관계가 나타나지 않았다. 둘째, 운동선수의 지도행동유형이 선수만족에 대한 결과는 사회적 상호작용은 훈련과 지도, 사회적 지지에서, 과제 수행은 훈련과 지도에서, 코치의 지도성은 훈련과 지도, 긍정적피드백에서 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 운동선수의 지도행동유형이 운동몰입에 대한 결과는 인지몰입은 훈련과 지도, 긍정적 피드백에서, 행위몰입은 훈련과 지도, 긍정적 피드백, 사회적 지지에서 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 선수들의 운동수행만족과 운동에 몰입하여 경기에 임하게 된다면 좋은 운동기술수행을 통하여 최상의 경기력을 발휘할 수 있을 것이다.

고위험 신생아간호에 관한 시뮬레이션 실습과 신생아집중치료실 실습의 스트레스와 만족도 (Stress and Satisfaction from Simulation-based Practice and Clinical Practice on High-risk Newborn Nursing)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare practice stress and practice satisfaction between clinical practice and simulation-based practice groups. Methods: A total of 159 nursing students (85 in the simulation group and 74 in the NICU group) participated in the study. Research tools measuring practice stress and practice satisfaction were used. Data was analyzed utilizing a t-test, Mann Whitney U-test, and descriptive statistics. Results: The simulation group showed a lower level of practice stress(practice instruction, practice evaluation, interpersonal relationship) a higher level of practice satisfaction compared with the NICU group. Conclusion: Simulation-based practice is an effective learning method for high-risk newborn nursing and can be used as an alternative to clinical practice.

대학생의 우주 교육을 위한 라즈베리 파이 기반 캔위성 수업자료 개발과 적용 (Development of CanSat Instruction Materials using Raspberry Pi for Space Education in University and Its Application)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop Raspberry Pi-based CanSat instruction materials for liberal arts classes to be used in university space education. The educational satellite simulation program is developed by applying the ADDIE program consisting of analysis, design, development, execution, and evaluation of 15 lessons per semester. The usefulness of the instruction materials is evaluated by a validity test of a total of 6 experts. The proposed materials are applied to 100 college students from various majors. To analyze the impact on creative problem-solving ability, a questionnaire is conducted before and after class, and as a result, it is confirmed that there is a significant improvement in all areas after class. The class satisfaction survey is conducted for a total of 10 questions, and the average score is 4.41 out of 5, which is high. In conclusion, the proposed instruction materials make it possible to achieve successful space education using Raspberry Pi and improve creative problem-solving ability in universities.

스토리텔링 활용 과학 수업이 초등학생의 학업 성취도, 과학 관련 태도 및 흥미도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Science Instruction with Storytelling on the Achievement, Science related Attitude and Interest in Elementary School)

  • The aim of this study was to find out the effect of instruction with storytelling on the achievement, attitude and interest in science. For this study, two classes were divided into experimental class and comparative class. All the results were analyzed quantitatively. Results of this study can be described as follows. First, the experimental class didn't have a significant difference in scholastic achievement compared with the comparative class. However, the results of the t-test for the academic achievement due to achievement level showed a positive effect in the average level of students. And experimental group was statistically significantly higher in the section of 'Combustion and Extinguishment' than that of the other group. Second, There was a significant difference in the aspect of the effect of instruction with storytelling on the student's science-related attitudes. As a result of analysis by sub categories of science-related attitudes, storytelling was effective in attitude toward science, but no significant differences were found in scientific attitude. Third, instruction with storytelling didn't show a meaningful difference in scientific interest. However, in the sub-part, they showed a meaningful improvement in attention and satisfaction.

일반계고의 창의공학설계 수업을 위한 아두이노 기반 STEAM 수업자료 개발과 적용 (Development of STEAM Instructional Materials using Arduino for Creative Engineering Design Class in High Schools and Its Application)

  • The purpose of the study was to develop the Arduino based STEAM instruction materials for creative engineering design class. PDIE model was used in this study. We developed a STEAM lesson plan and a STEAM lesson worksheet for a total of six sessions through the steps of preparation, development, implementation and evaluation. The validity of the instruction materials was evaluated by the 10 experts using a survey. The instruction materials were applied to the class (52 students attended) of the creative engineering designs unit in technology and home economics subject. The class satisfaction and the creative solving-problem ability were examined after the calss. The class satafacition was high as the average of 10 item was 4.57 (out of 5). The paired t-test was conducted to compare the means of the creative solving-problem ability. It was observed that 'understanding and mastery of knowledge, thought, function and skills in a specific domain', 'divergent thinking', 'critical and logical thinking' and ' motivational factors' were significantly increased after the class. The instruction materials develped in this study were successfully designed to enhance the creative solving-problem ability by designing creative tasks and to intrique the interest by adding visual and auditory stimuli with the Arduino.

일부 대학생 심폐소생술교육에서 노래.동영상 자가 학습과 동영상 자가 학습(VSI) 간의 교육 효과 비교 (Comparison of the Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation(CR) Education Effects Between the Song.Video Self-Instruction and CPR VSI (Video Self-Instruction) Among College Students)

  • Objectives: This study is a quasi-experimental research with nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design study to compare and verify the educational effects between CPR Song.Video Self-Instruction and CPR VSI. Method: We selected total 58 subjects who were freshmen at the Dept of Emergency Medical technology, G College in G Metropolitan City and 28 of them were experimental group which had no experience to have CPR instruction and consented to take part in this research and 30 students were control group. Data were collected from Apr. 27 to 29, 2009. Data were analyzed with SPSS/PC+(version 14.0). and all significance level was set as p<0.05. Results: 1. In the knowledge of CPR, the knowledge level before CPR instruction was 2.17 out of 10 in experimental group and 1.86 in control group. After CPR instruction, experimental group got 9.07 and it meant the increase of 6.89 and control group showed increase to 7.16(p=0.000). 2. Self-efficacy of CPR showed 2.61 out of 10 in both experimental and control groups, and after CPR instruction, experimental group showed increase of 3.93 as 6.55 and control group showed increase of 3.91 as 6.52(p=0.000). 3. Accuracy of CPR performance was 0.32 out of 10 in experimental group and 0.40 in control group. After CPR instruction, experimental group got 9.25 and showed increase of 8.92 and control group got 9.20 and showed increase of 8.80(p=0.000). 4. Study satisfaction was 4.22 out of 5 in experimental group and 3.04 in control group, and experimental group was higher than control group. there was no statistically significant difference. Conclusions: This study found that CPR Song;Video Self-Instruction achieved better results than CPR VSI. With these results, it is considered that CPR instruction for college students through mass communication or video will be very helpful.

치주질환자 구강관리능력 향상을 위한 치면세균막관리(잇솔질교육)에 관한 연구 (The effect of plaque control (tooth brushing instruction) for oral health improvement on periodontitis patients)

  • Objectives : The aim of the trial was to study the effect of plaque control(tooth brushing instruction) for oral health improvement on periodontitis patients. Methods : 30 patients(35~65 years) with advanced periodontal disease were subjected to a baseline examination including assessment of oral hygiene status(O'leary index), gingival condition(bleeding). the assessment were repeated after 2, 4, 6 weeks. cognitive, behavioral and clinical outcomes were assessed in the primary care setting by questionnaire and clinical oral examination. Results : The oral hygiene status expressed as the individual mean percentage of tooth surfaces with plaque 59.3% at baseline and 21.2% after 6 weeks(p<0.001). The gingival bleeding status expressed as the individual mean point of interdental papilla 3.8 at baseline and 1.9 after 6 weeks(p<0.001). Also, the patients self-assessment about correct tooth brushing behavior was 3.9(5-point likert scales), satisfaction of plan practices 4.1(5-point likert scales), efficacy of tooth brushing instruction 8.7(10-point likert scales). Patients wanted to continuous participation. Conclusions : A verification of effect after individualized oral health instruction and repeated dental plaque control represented to significance on plaque control score, oral care practice and oral health recognition. The important oral care step against periodontal disease is to establish good oral health habits. Also, oral health behavior recognition is more important for the practice of oral health. Therefore professional plaque control and tooth brushing instruction absolutely need in improving oral health.

Keller의 ARCS 동기모델을 적용한 비즈니스문화 수업과정 설계 및 효과에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Application and the Effect of Business Culture Class Using Keller's ARCS Motivational Model)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 ARCS 모델을 적용하여 비즈니스문화 수업을 설계하고 그렇게 설계된 수업이 문화에 대한 관심과 지식 그리고 문화 인식 및 태도에 미치는 효과를 조사하는 것이었다. 이를 위해 주의집중, 관련성, 자신감, 만족감을 유발시켜 비즈니스문화 학습에 대한 동기를 높일 수 있는 여러 전략들을 사용하여 비즈니스문화 수업을 설계하였다. ARCS 모델 적용의 효과를 알아보기 위해 전통적 강의식 수업으로 이루어진 2016년 비즈니스문화 수업 수강자 대상의 비교집단과 ARCS 모델에 의해 설계된 수업이 이루어진 2017년 비즈니스문화 수업 수강자 대상의 실험집단에 대해 사전-사후 설문조사를 실시하였다. 조사 결과에 따르면 두 집단 모두 문화 지식 향상에는 효과가 있었던 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 문화에 대한 관심, 다른 문화를 가진 사람들에 대한 이해, 문화 창출에 대한 의욕, 문화 중요성에 대한 인식, 문화 교육의 필요성에 대한 인식을 높이는 데 있어서는 ARCS 모델 적용 수업은 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났지만 전통적 강의식 수업은 효과가 있는 것으로 볼 수 없었다.
