Rural life improvement programs (RLIPs) have been implemented with a central goal of improving the quality of rural life and promoting rural welfare and cultural life. However, different factors may influence the effect of rural life improvement programs on rural communities or households. This study aimed to investigate the determinants of perceived effects of RLIPs on quality of life of rural women in South Korea. We used a mixed research design to generate data for this study. We collected survey data from 311 rural women who participated in the RLIPs and also conducted a focus group discussion. We analyzed the quantitative data using descriptive statistics and hierarchical regression to identify the variables that predicted effects of RLIPs on quality of life of rural women. Our study finds that age, type of residence in the community, leadership experience, level of education, community satisfaction and community participation influenced respondents' perceived effects of RLIPs. The results imply that the benefits of a development intervention could not be uniformly reaped by residents of a community.
This study aimed to examine the impact of grit and problem-solving skills on clinical competency among fourth-year nursing students who had experienced clinical practice. This descriptive survey research was conducted from March 1, 2024, to March 31, 2024. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 24.0 statistical program. Out of a total of 130 respondents, 124 participated, yielding a response rate of 95.4%. The results showed that grit scored 3.11, problem-solving skills scored 3.07, and clinical competency scored 3.27. There were significant positive correlations between grit and problem-solving skills (r=.510, p<.01), clinical competency and problem-solving skills (r=.381, p<.01), and clinical competency and grit (r=.522, p<.01). Factors influencing clinical competency included grade point average (𝛽=.240, p=.002), motivation for further study (𝛽=-.149, p=.041), satisfaction with clinical practice (𝛽=-.199, p=.011), and grit (𝛽=.329, p<.001), with these factors explaining 24.4% of the variance. Therefore, based on the findings of this study, it is necessary to develop tailored educational programs considering various characteristics to enhance students' grit within the nursing curriculum.
This study was attempted to analyze the effect of a note-taking strategy applied to blended learning adult nursing education. Data were collected from September 17 to October 15, 2021, and analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 26.0 program with a single group pre/post design targeting 33 nursing students. As a main result, learning motivation rose from 3.27 before class to 3.40 after class, but there was no significant difference(t=-1.501, p=.143), and class participation significantly increased from 2.95 before class to 3.27 after class(t=-2.669, p=.012). Motivation for learning before class was pre-class participation(r=.838, p<.001), learning motivation after class(r=.545, p=.001), and class participation after class(r=.462, p=.007) and each showed a significant positive correlation. Learning motivation and class participation according to gender(Wilks'𝛌=.866), class interest(Wilks'𝛌=.632), and class satisfaction(Wilks'𝛌=.822) were all higher than the significance level of .05, so they were no significant difference. Based on these results, applying a note-taking strategy to blended learning adult nursing education was effective in improving class participation. In a future study, it is necessary to verify the effectiveness by applying a note-taking strategy customized according to academic achievement.

To survey the different view points about food service programs among parents and teachers, 2 types of questionnaires, which consisted of attitude, perception, satisfaction and demand of the food service program in child education centers, were used. The data was collected from 2450 parents and 450 teachers who attended a child education center in 16 provinces, nationwide. SPSS was used for descriptive analysis and ANOVA test and X2−test. The frinding results were as follows. 1. The average serving size of meal (lunch) were 80 meals per day and 167 meals per day at large institutions. Mean cost of snacks was 14,709 won per month and mean costs of lunch were 29,319 won per month. The mean price was not significantly different according to the scale of institution. The numbers of servings of lunch, morning snack and afternoon snack were 5, 3.4 and 3.5 times per week each. 56.4% of the institutions served meals to children in classrooms, but the national/public institutions, which were attending elementary school, served meals in a dining place in the elementary school. 2. Teacher controlled serving portion size of snacks (79.6%) and lunch (88.8%)and30.1% of teacher did not allow leaving lunch food. The ratio of knowing about preserved meals of the teacher who worked at a small institution was significantly higher than the teacher who worked at large institutions (p<0.01). 3. Between parents and teachers, several different view points about school lunch programs were detected. Most parents and teachers wanted that the school lunch to be fully cooked and served at the child education institution itself, but 12.2% of parents and 14.4% of teachers wanted a catering service. The teachers group preferred 'lunch box from home' and 'home partially prepared lunch' as an ideal meal serving type than the parent groups (p<0.01). And there were significantly different view points about price factors in school meals, teachers group highly answered that operating expenses must be added in meal prices. 4. The teacher groups' priorities of education activities during meal time were a significantly lower score than parents group in overall education activities. Teacher and parent groups pointed out that individual sanitation activities were most important of the education activities during meal time, but promoting good eating habits was the lowest score in both groups. 5. 'Improving taste and food quality' was most urgent in food service at child education centers, but there were significantly different view points between parent groups (64.5%) and teacher groups (43.8%)(p<0.05). They answered at a lower percent in 'employee qualified person' and 'cost control' point to improve food service, but there were also different opinions between the two groups (p<0.01). 6. As to the matter of the advantages and disadvantages of catering services, two group answered that the advantages of a catering service were 'convenience' and 'to solve facilities and labor problems', disadvantages were 'lower in food freshness' and 'sanitation problems'. There were also several different view pionts in catering services, the parents groups were more anxious about food sanitation than teachers. This study found several different view points about school food services among parents and teachers. To improve food services at child education institutions, there is a need to adjust the differences between the two groups through interactive communication channels and education and to employ dietitians as taking charge of adjusting roles between the two groups.

In this study, the effects of street improvement projects in particular regions are carefully scrutinized, classified, and compared based on the types of citizen participation in those projects which are offered as one of several urban regeneration methods. The Wonju and Siheung Street Improvement Projects were selected for case studies, and in-depth interviews and a survey are conducted in both regions. As a result of in-depth interviews, the Wonju project is the community initiative type in which the community has responsibilities and decision-making abilities. On the other hand, Siheung is the community participative type in which the opinions of the community have been limited The survey targeted more than 100 local merchants, and they were asked to answer to the questions which were categorized into 21 items with a 5-point Likert scale. The analysis method was carried out through a reliability test, regression. average analysis on each group, and a T-test by SPSS 18.0. Factor analysis results show four factors: physical, partnership, community, and economical revitalization. These results reveal that the social factor can be sub-divided into a community factor and partnership factor. As a result of revitalization factors by citizen participation type, the resident initiative type is more revitalized than the resident participative type in all four factors, and shows positive responses in physical and economical revitalization factors. In particular, the physical revitalization factor has a big impact on resident satisfaction regardless of type. The community revitalization factor also has an impact on two types. It reveals that the communication is as important as physical improvement. However, it shows that no type of project affects partnership revitalization. As a result of this study, if we considered only physical improvement as project achievement, you can achieve the desired outcome without consideration of residents' participation types. Furthermore, if regional revitalization is the goal of a street improvement project, we must consider other factors such as a partnership and community revitalization.
Recently, the high value added business is steadily growing in the culture and art area. To generated high value from a performance, the satisfaction of audience is necessary. The flow in a critical factor for satisfaction, and it should be induced from audience and measures. To evaluate interest and emotion of audience on contents, producers or investors need a kind of index for the measurement of the flow. But it is neither easy to define the flow quantitatively, nor to collect audience's reaction immediately. The previous studies of the group flow were evaluated by the sum of the average value of each person's reaction. The flow or "good feeling" from each audience was extracted from his face, especially, the change of his (or her) expression and body movement. But it was not easy to handle the large amount of real-time data from each sensor signals. And also it was difficult to set experimental devices, in terms of economic and environmental problems. Because, all participants should have their own personal sensor to check their physical signal. Also each camera should be located in front of their head to catch their looks. Therefore we need more simple system to analyze group flow. This study provides the method for measurement of audiences flow with group synchronization at same time and place. To measure the synchronization, we made real-time processing system using the Differential Image and Group Emotion Analysis (GEA) system. Differential Image was obtained from camera and by the previous frame was subtracted from present frame. So the movement variation on audience's reaction was obtained. And then we developed a program, GEX(Group Emotion Analysis), for flow judgment model. After the measurement of the audience's reaction, the synchronization is divided as Dynamic State Synchronization and Static State Synchronization. The Dynamic State Synchronization accompanies audience's active reaction, while the Static State Synchronization means to movement of audience. The Dynamic State Synchronization can be caused by the audience's surprise action such as scary, creepy or reversal scene. And the Static State Synchronization was triggered by impressed or sad scene. Therefore we showed them several short movies containing various scenes mentioned previously. And these kind of scenes made them sad, clap, and creepy, etc. To check the movement of audience, we defined the critical point, αand β. Dynamic State Synchronization was meaningful when the movement value was over critical point β, while Static State Synchronization was effective under critical point α. β is made by audience' clapping movement of 10 teams in stead of using average number of movement. After checking the reactive movement of audience, the percentage(%) ratio was calculated from the division of "people having reaction" by "total people". Total 37 teams were made in "2012 Seoul DMC Culture Open" and they involved the experiments. First, they followed induction to clap by staff. Second, basic scene for neutralize emotion of audience. Third, flow scene was displayed to audience. Forth, the reversal scene was introduced. And then 24 teams of them were provided with amuse and creepy scenes. And the other 10 teams were exposed with the sad scene. There were clapping and laughing action of audience on the amuse scene with shaking their head or hid with closing eyes. And also the sad or touching scene made them silent. If the results were over about 80%, the group could be judged as the synchronization and the flow were achieved. As a result, the audience showed similar reactions about similar stimulation at same time and place. Once we get an additional normalization and experiment, we can obtain find the flow factor through the synchronization on a much bigger group and this should be useful for planning contents.

For this study a sample of 205 people, 66 males and 139 females, over 65 years of age, residing in C-gu of S-si and utilizing senior centers, were selected, The objective of the study was to provide basic data for health promotion program development provided by health centers. A questionnaire was used to collect date on general characteristics, health status, social health status and utilization rate for health services. The instruments used in this study were the Lawton scale, to measure daily routine function, the MMSE-K developed by Folstein and modified to fit the Korea situation, for mental health status, and the CES-Dtool developed by Radloff, for emotional health status. the SPSS Window program was used to calculate percentages. Tests of significance were done using t-test and ANOVA. Multiple regression analysis was used to identify variables influencing the use of health services. The results are as follows : Of those utilizing senior citizen centers, 40.9% of males and 17.3% of the female thought they were healthy. The average score for IADL was 7.4. The daily routine of female respondents consisted of buying household articles and drugs, and other IADLs such as riding the bus or subway alone. These resulted in a higher score compared to males. For emotional health, 7.6% of the males reported depression compared to 21.6% of the females. For mental health, 48.5% of the males and 28.8% of the females were found to be in the group suspicious for dementia. On social health, 57.6% of the males and 62.6% of the females reported no intimate human relations. Of those older people who had close human relations, 52.5% of the males indicated a friend as the closest person and 53.8% of the females, their children. On use of health services, there was a significantly higher need for mobile medical care services treatment for those with lower education levels and status of window/widower. There was a significantly higher need for health exmination services for those with lower levels of exercise, greater satisfaction with sleep, higher levels of oral health care, and higher social contacts. In conclusion, there is a need to provide varied programs for the promotion of health, along with parallel resolution of social, psychological and economic issues. It is recommended that health services for elderly people provided by the health centers be implemented with full recognition of these characteristics and differences.
