Background and objectives: One-person households are the fastest growing family type in Korea. They bring social concerns such as weakened social integration, increasing poverty and social isolation. They are not homogeneous but heterogeneous groups depending on their socio-demographic characteristics including generation. This study compared the life satisfaction level as well as factors affecting it among the three one-person household generations Methods: The 13th wave of the Korea Welfare Panel dataset with 1,187 respondents was utilized. For data analysis Chi-square test, analysis of variance and hierarchical regression analysis were employed. Generations are divided into three, namely young adult (20-39), the middle-aged (40-64) and the elderly (65 and over). Result: The life satisfaction level was highest among the young adult one-person household generation, followed by the middle-aged and the elderly generation. The common factors affecting life satisfaction of the three generations were physical as well as mental health, including self-esteem and depression. However, there were more factors different from generation to generation. As for the young adult, age, religion, and smoking were significant. As for the middle aged and the elderly, gender (male) and income were significant. Additionally, age, home-ownership and drinking were significant to the elderly generation. Conclusions: As there are differences as well as similarities among the three generations, policies for one-person households need to be devised considering these findings. For all generations, both physical and mental health policies are needed. For young adult strengthening social relations, providing decent jobs, and promoting anti-smoking policy are major agenda, and for the middle-aged and the elderly, assisting in social capital accumulation (for male), providing stable jobs and diverse leisure activities, and securing income. Additionally, for the elderly, expanding the social security system and housing support are needed.
The purpose of this study was to develop a ratio scale to measure job satisfaction of nurses and health workers in health centers. Of the 224 health centers in Korea, 105 were drawn as the sample using disproportion리 stratified random sampling. The data collection period was from May 1 to June 30, 1990 and 771 nurses and health workers working at 75 health centers participated. Subjects were instructed to rate, according to the level of satisfaction, from one to four points, 42 items revised from the tool made by Stamps et. al. (1978). The internal consistency reliability of the tool was measured by Cronbach $\alpha$ and the corrected item-total correlation coefficient. As a result of the item analysis, one item was excluded since the item had negative correlation with total items. As a result of factor analysis on the 41 items with varimax or above. Labeling and numbering of 6 factors were as follows ; factor 1 (8 items) ; Professional status of job. factor 2 (6 items) ; Interaction. factor 3 (8 items) ; Autonomy. factor 4 (8 items) ; Administration. factor 5 (7 items) ; Pay. factor 6 (4 items) ; Job(Task). Further studies are needed to identify the relationship between this tool and the effectiveness of the health center and more research is needed for generalization.
Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of participation in social activities on the subjective health satisfaction of the elderly in groups with and without chronic diseases. Methods : Data were used from the "2014 the Korean Elderly Survey" and the subjects were 10,451 persons aged 65 years or older. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS 18.0 statistical package. Results : The results of this study were as follows. In the case of the elderly without chronic diseases, only the employment status (${\beta}=.135$, p<.01) had a significant effect on the health of the elderly. In the case of elderly people with chronic illness, participation in lifelong education (${\beta}=.183$, p<.001), participation in social group (${\beta}=.277$, p<.001), volunteer work experience (${\beta}=.060$, p<.05), and employment status (${\beta}=.342$, p<.001) had a significant effect on health. Conclusions : Policies and systems are needed to actively encourage and support the social activities of the elderly. Additionly, care and attention are needed to provide social jobs for the elderly and build a sustainable network.
Purpose: The present study is an analysis of the extents of class satisfaction of college students who had applied the design thinking technique to capstone design class. Methods: The experimental method involved an analysis of 122 cases of data where advance and post replies were performed for the subject by students who had applied the design thinking technique and students who had not. The students involved had attended the capstone design class as a junior in the Department of Dental Technology at D University. Results: In the satisfaction with performance process of the capstone design class, five questions among nine had a high positive rating, while all eight questions on the satisfaction with performance methods had a high negative rating. Among ten questions on subjective learning outcomes, six showed a high positive rating. After the application of the design thinking class method, all mean values of the group with the application were higher than the group with no application in satisfaction with performance process, satisfaction with performance method, and subjective class outcomes. Hence, the design thinking class did have positive effects on the students' improvement of class. Conclusion: Based on the results of the study, it is implied that the considerations about diverse class composition methods and operation methods capable of improving the students' satisfaction are needed for efficient operation of the capstone design class.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of leisure facilities and to examine residents' needs for leisure facilities in apartment complex. The questionnaire survey and content analysis were used. The Data for content analysis were 476 site plans, and the subjects of questionnaire survey were 673 residents lilving in 35 apartment complex. Frequency, Percentage, and mean, ANOVA-A, x^{2}-test, and multiple regression were used for data analysis. The major results were as follows. 1) Facilities for children play, and senior, sports facilities, community center, green area, and resting place were included in leisure facilities in apartment complex. These facilities were different according to complex site and built-period. 2)The degree of satisfaction of leisure facilities was lower than neutral. The satisfaction of leisure facilities related with diversity of leisure facilities and program, and poor environment. 3) Subjects needed the facilities recommended in housing act including diverse leisure facilities such as sports center and resident's self government facilities. And they needed divers facilities for sports. 4) In terms of location, they needed leisure facilities which was closer to their house.

The purposes of this study were to examine the relationships between education and training, job satisfaction, and life satisfaction for female managers and to analyze the mediating effect of job satisfaction on the relationship between education and training and life satisfaction. Statistical analysis was conducted on a total of 1,381 female managers using the data from the 6th Korean Women Manager Panel Survey. The results of the study were as follows. First, education and training had a significant positive impact on job satisfaction. Second, education and training had a significant positive impact on life satisfaction. Third, job satisfaction had a significant positive impact on life satisfaction. Fourth, job satisfaction had a partial mediating effect on the relationship between education and training and life satisfaction. Additional research on education, job satisfaction, and life relations of female workers is needed. In order to establish a virtuous cycle of education and training, work, and life for female managers, related government policies and systems need to be improved.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the preference and needs of leisure facilities of residents living in apartment complexes. The questionnaire survey was conducted in the selected apartment complexes, and 676 responses were used for data analysis. The statistical techniques used for data analysis included frequencies, percentage, mean, $X^2$-test, and multiple regression. The major findings were as follows: 1) Subjects needed the diverse leisure facilities such as sports center and resident's self government facilities. And they needed diverse facilities for sports. 2) In terms of location, they needed leisure facilities which was closer to their house. 3) The degree of satisfaction of leisure facilities was lower than neutral. The satisfaction of leisure facilities related with diversity of leisure facilities and program, and poor environment. 4) It was found that the respondents preferred safe and various leisure facilities, and the leisure facilities were exclusively used for the residents only, and the use by non-residents should be charged at the expense. Also, respondents were willing to pay additional fee for the better quality of leisure facilities, and sports leisure facilities congregated in one building were highly desirable.
This study examines the current status on the supply of community facilities based on the supply criteria of present welfare facilities. Analyzing satisfaction of residents about community facilities based on physical supply criteria. The study sets up the concept and proposed trend of the related studies and distinction through the examination of previous researches. Next, the present systematical supply criteria, was used to make indication in order to propose the promotion of improvement on supply criteria for community facilities. Multi dimensional analyzing system and the satisfaction level of the community facility was used to analyze the relationship between the two. The direction of policy improvement according to the analysis is as per the following. First, it is necessary to improve supply criteria of household to guarantee the minimal amount of space. Second, specification of the minimum distance of community facility to residential area in the complex is needed. Also, the presentation of bottom boundary line of the formation area size to expand the size up to minimal level of size is needed. Third, resident exercise facility supply criteria among the community facility supply criteria need to be improved from the number of household base to the size for each household base. Forth, resident resting facility criteria among the community facility supply criteria should be changed from the present criteria of one facility per five hundred households.
This paper is aimed at providing fundamental data for marketing strategies needed to determine the direction of policy to operate hospitals in an effective way. From the analysis, it was found that: first, expectation toward hospitality of the staff, facilities, environment and administrative service of hospitals for the elderly exercises significantly positive(+) effects on satisfaction of patients; second, trust in and satisfaction with administrative service of hospitals for the elderly exerts significantly positive(+) effects on the intent of patients for revisit and information by word of mouth; and third, the intent for revisit influences positively the intent for information by word of mouth significantly. It is therefore needed to try to understand the motives and tendencies of the elderly in selecting hospitals, to promote their satisfaction and to cultivate the spirit for patient-oriented service. Furthermore, efforts should be made to gain trust of medical staff, effects of medical treatment as well as medical equipment in addition to laborious endeavors to work out marketing strategies backed up by price competitiveness of paradigm.
Purpose : The purpose of this study is to analyze how the certain efforts of the optical shops affect on opticians' job satisfaction and organizational commitment, and to analyze how opticians' job satisfaction and organizational commitment affect on the customer orientation and to suggest the method of maintaining competitiveness. Methods : Two hundred opticians took participations on the surveys via the Internet survey method and social network system (SNS), and SPSS 18.0 statistics program was used for data analysis; frequency analysis, T-test, factor analysis, reliability analysis, and multiple linear regression analysis were conducted. Results : It is analyzed the differences on the job satisfaction and organizational commitment in accordance with type of optical shops, conducting 5 working days/week and flexible time. As a result, higher job satisfaction is presented with 5 working days/week. Relationships with co-workers statistically affect on job satisfaction positively and emotional labor and work overload statistically affect on job satisfaction negatively. In addition, relationships with co-workers and reward statistically affect on organizational commitment positively and emotional labor and work overload statistically affect on organizational commitment negatively. And opticians' job satisfaction and organizational commitment statistically affect on customer satisfaction positively. Conclusion : It is necessary for the optical shops to make an effort for their opticians to improve the job satisfaction and organizational commitment. And to do so, it is needed to form trusting and respecting relationships with co-workers or superiors. In addition, it is necessary to have continuous communication and education for opticians' self-management. Also, it is needed to establish an effective reward system.
