Objectives We report a series of 3 chronic tension-type headache cases who were constitutionally typed as the Soeum type, Taeeum type and treated with Dangguibaekhaoguanjung-tang, Chungshimyeonja-tang or Chunghyulganggui-tang. Methods In treating 1 patient who was constitutionally typed as the Soeum type, Case 1 fell into the category of the Taeeum symptomatology, 2 patients who were constitutionally typed as the Taeeum type, Case 2 and Case 3 fell into the category of Dry-Heat symptomatology. Each patient was given Sasang medication according to protocol: Dangguibaekhaoguanjung-tang to Case 1, Chungshimyeonja-tang to Case 2, Chunghyulganggui-tang to Case 3. On admission day and approximately 2 weeks later, patients evaluated their pain and quality of life using SF-36 and HIT-6. The patients symptoms were observed daily and NRS scores were recorded daily. Results and Conclusions 2 Patients(Case1, Case2) showed improvement in their NRS scores, SF-36 scores and HIT-6 scores. 1 patient(Case3) showed improvement in NRS scores, but worse SF-36 scores and no improvement in HIT-6 scores. Treating chronic tension-type headache based on Sasang Constitutional therapy was found to be effective for managing pain. The treatment protocol suggested in this investigation should be explored and verified in future studies.

Objectives We report a case which is based on Sasang constitutional Medicine for Soyangsangpungjeung of Soyangin who has chill and fever. Methods We have treated a Soyangin patient that had chill and fever which was diagnosed as Soyangsangpungjeung. We prescribed oriental medicine therapy focused on herbal medicine for that physical symptoms. The improvement of that symptoms was evaluated. Results After using oriental medicine therapy, patient's physical symptoms were improved. Conclusions This case study showed an efficient result of using oriental medicine therapy, especially herbal medicine in Soyangsangpungjeung of Soyangin.

Objectives : This study is about two patients of drug-induced secondary parkinsonism caused by antipsychotic drugs. The purpose of this study is to report the clinical effects of Sasang constitutional medicine. Methods : These two patients were treated by Sasang constitutional herbal medications based on "Donguisusebowon". We evaluated the symptoms through the score of the Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale(UPDRS). Results and Conclusions : The patients' chief complaints were improved. This study shows that Sasang constitutional herbal medications are an effective treatment for drug-induced secondary parkinsonism patients, but further studies are still necessary.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to compare the changes before and after constitutional acupuncture treatment in soyangin who received embedding therapy for wrinkle improvement. Methods A retrospective study reviewing medical records was conducted. The patient was classified as a Soyangin by a specialist based on K-PRISM, personality, appearance, voice and usual symptoms. Records on the degree of wrinkles, postoperative symptoms, and patient satisfaction were reviewed. Results The patient's wrinkles were improved after the embedding therapy. After therapy symptoms were fever, flushing, and burning sensation. After acupuncture, these symptoms were reduced. Patient satisfaction increased after constitutional acupuncture treatment. Conclusion As a result of embedding treatment in Soyangin patients, there was an effect of wrinkle improvement. As a result of constitutional acupuncture treatment, anxiety and stress were reduced before the procedure, and symptoms of heat, burning, and flushing were reduced after the procedure.

Objectives The purpose of this case study is to report the effect of Sasang constitutional therapy about chill and fever pattern of malaria by acute urticaria. Methods This Soyangin patient is treated by herbal prescriptions, venesection, and acupuncture therapy according to the change of symptoms. When fever is severe, adequate medical supportive treatments such as normal saline intravenous injection, sedative or anti-histamine are provided for the patient. Results & Conclusions The patient's symptoms of acute urticaria and general conditions were improved after using Yangdokbaekho-tang and Hwagam. However, chill and fever pattern of malaria was continued so that Hyungbangpaedok-san and Dokhwaljihwang-tang for Soyangin's lasting malaria symptom were medicated to the patient. Accordingly, chill and fever pattern lasting about one month was successfully eliminated after herbal treatment.

1. Objectives: This study aims to report symptomatic improvement of a Soyangin persistent hiccup patient with Hyeongbangdojeoksan. 2. Methods: The patient was treated with Hyeongbangdojeok-san and acupunctural therapy. The patient's chief complaint and ordinaty symptoms were observed during the outpatient care period. 3. Results and Conclusions: In results, Soyangin patients's hiccup and ordinary symptom as well as improved. The management of the constitutional pathological syndromes by constitutional perspective than focusing on the symptoms of hiccups will provide more comfortable life and better health levels.

Objective The Constitutional Seong-Jeong therapy is one of the important ways to prevent Sasang constitutional symptomatology. But, there are various interpretations and unclear aspects of the content and meaning, so there are many difficulties in applying it concretely in actual clinical practice. The purpose of this study is to clarify the physiology, pathology, treatment mechanism and its specific meaning. Method The pathology associated with constitutional symptomatology is known as Deepening-Seong and Exploding-Jeong. Therefore, related pathologies and corresponding treatment and prevention mechanisms were reviewed, focusing on the related contents of Donguisusebowon, and their specific meanings were considered. Results and Conclusions 1. Constitutional Seong-Jeong therapy is a regimen to prevent and manage Deepening-Seong and Exploding-Jeong. 2. Deepening-Seong and Exploding-Jeong are the inappropriate occurrences of Seong and Jeong in the poor area of the Heavenly-frame recognition and in the vulnerable area of Humanly-activity practice, and the antecedent cause is covetous desire. 3. Deepening-Seong and Exploding-Jeong cause the weakening in the power of ears-eyes-nose-mouth to perceive Heavenly frame and the power of lung-spleen-liver-kidney to practice Humanly activity in the four constitution's weak system, which lead to the Interruption in processing of four Qi in each weak system. 4. The four constitutions must be careful about the occurrence of covetous desire in the process of recognizing Heavenly frame and doing Humanly activity so that intellectual and behavioral abilities can be exerted to overcome the poor area of the recognition of Heavenly frame and the formation of Humanly activity to prevent deepening-Seong and exploding-Jeong from occurring.

Objectives : Lung cancer is one of the most common cancer and the leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide. This study aimed to evaluate the role of acupuncture as an adjunctive therapy for lung cancer. Methods : We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis on the role of acupuncture therapy in lung cancer treatment by electronic and manual searching in ninedatabases, including PubMed, Cochrane library, Embase, Korean databases, and Chinese medical databases. Results : A total of 21 trials were included in the meta-analysis. The study results showed that acupuncture therapy had significant efficacy in immuneregulation, including CD3 andCD4. Further analysis revealed that acupuncture therapy significant improvements in quality of life, including Karnofsky performance status(KPS)score, functional assessment of cancer therapy-lung cancer subscale (FACT-L) and European Organization for the Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire (EORTC QLQ-C30). In addition, the pooled studies also showed that acupuncture therapy reduced cancer pain and chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting. Conclusions : Our study provides moderate evidence of the efficacy of the acupuncture therapy in the treatment of lung cancer.

1. Objectives The purpose of this study is to give an account of the effects of the Korean herbal medicine therapy which is based on the Sasang constitutional medicine for the patient who has suffered from Soeum-disease(少陰病). 2. Methods The subject is a 73-year old woman who has the symptoms caused by sequella of cerebral infarction and depression mood which are headache, dizziness, ostalgia, chilling, anorexia, general weakness. 3. Results We have diagnosed her as Soeumin(少陰人), and have prescribed Kwankae bujaijung-tang(官桂附子理中湯). 4. Conclusions The consequence is the accompanied headache, dizziness, ostalgia, chilling, anorexia, and general condition has improved.

1. Objectives This Case study is to evaluate the effectivity of Sasang Herbal Therapy in Insomnia Patients. 2. Methods Patients who diagnosed as Soyangin by physical characteristic, posture and symptoms, are evaluated with VAS and morning questionnarie after Hyeongbangjihwang-tang medication. 3. Results After Hyeongbangjihwang-tang medication, Soyangin patients were improved the sleep disturbance, insomnia, and the constitutional disease syndrome also improved. 4. Conclusions
