Objectives This case is about a Soyangin cerebellar atrophy patient. In this study, we report the effect of Sasang Constitutional treatment to this patient. Methods This patient was treated by Soyangin's constitutional medications and acupuncture according to the result of Sasang Constitutional diagnosis. We used Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) and Equilibrium Function Test. Results and Conclusions This patient's chief complaints were dizziness. By using Hyeungbangjihwang-tang, she showed positive response about her symptom. This study shows that Hyeungbangjihwang-tang has effect to cerebellar atrophy in Soyangin.

Objectives This research was proposed to present Clinical Practice Guideline(CPG) for Soeumin Disease of Sasang Constitutional Medicine(SCM): Greater Yin Symptomatology. This CPG was developed by the national-wide experts committee consisting of SCM professors. Methods First, it was performed that search and collection of literature related SCM such as "Dongeuisusebowon", Textbook of SCM, Clinical Guidebook of SCM and Fundamental research to standardize diagnosis of Sasang Constitutional Medicine. And journal search related clinical trial or Human complementary medicine of SCM was performed domestic and overseas. Finally, 1 article was selected and included in CPG for Greater Yin Symptomatology of Stomach Cold-based Interior Cold disease in Soeumin disease. Results & Conclusions CPG of Greater Yin symptomatology in Soeumin Disease include classification, definition and standard symptoms of each pattern. Greater Yin symptomatology is classified into mild and moderate pattern by severity. Greater Yin Symptomatology Mild pattern is classified into Greater Yin Symptomatology accompanied abdominal pain and bowel irritability and Greater Yin pattern accompanied Epigastric stuffiness and fullness. And Greater Yin Symptomatology moderate pattern is classified into Greater Yin pattern accompanied Jaundice, Greater Yin pattern accompanied Edema and Greater Yin pattern by Yin toxin.

Objective : This study on Sipimikwanjung-tang was undertaken to evaluate its antioxidant capacities and antiperoxidation activities in rat liver tissues. Sipimikwanjung-tang which has been one of the prescriptions in sasang constitutional medicine is usually applied for the therapy of various liver diseases. It is elucidated that Sipimikwanjung-tang has antioxidants on liver tissue of rat and the cytotoxic effects on human hepatoblastoma Hep G2 cells. Methods: Sipimikwanjung-tang extract in antioxidant effects of Hep G2 cells is evaluated by MTT assay, DAPI staining, DNA fragmentation assays and FACS can analysis. Results: Sipimikwanjung-tang induced apoptosis in Hep G2 cells, and induced G1 and G2M arrest of the cell cycle as well as a significant increase in PARP and caspase-3 activity. It induced an increase in $H_2O_2$ generation and the subsequent $NF-{\kappa}B$ activation and also induced cell apoptosis through the caspase-3-dependent pathways in the low concentration of Sipimikwanjung-tang extracts. However, the high dose of Sipimikwanjung-tang extract in Hep G2 cells inhibited $TGF-{\beta}l-induced$ apoptosis via increase in cellular $H_2O_2$, formation and $NF-{\kappa}B$ activation in human hepatoblastoma Hep G2 cells. Conclusion: From this study, the possibility that Sipimikwanjung-tang extracts apply to antioxidant and apoptotic treatment of disease is revealed.

Objectives The purpose of this study was to report significant improvement of functional dyspepsia in 3 patients, who were diagnosed with 'Soyangin Spleen Cold-based Exterior Cold disease' and applied medication based on Sasang Constitutonal medicine.Methods The patients were treated with herbal medications, according to their own constitution. The objective outcome was measured by body composition analyzer and Gastrointestinal Symptom Rating Scale (GSRS), and the subjective sensation was assessed by using Visual Analogue Scale (VAS).Results The symptoms of functional dyspepsia improved remarkedly in all respects, without any side effects. Original symptoms also changed for the better.Conclusions This results show that it is available that functional dyspepsia is treated with medicines according to Sasang Constitutional medicine.

1. Objectives : This investigation compares the subjective appetite ratings across male groups of different Sasang constitutional types. 2. Methods : We recruited 36 male participants aged 20-36 with BMI 18.5-30. The subjective appetite ratings was assessed using VAS before and after standard meal.(6 time points : 30 Minutes Pre-prandial, Immediately before Meal, 15, 30, 60, 120 Minutes Post-prandial) 3. Results : In comparison of subjective appetite ratings between Sasang constitutional types, Soyang-type showed a pattern like high appetite, high hunger, low satiety, high 'how much I can eat', Soeum-type showed a pattern like low appetite, low hunger, high satiety, low 'how much I can eat', and Taeeum-type showed a pattern like low appetite, low hunger. 4. Conclusions : The results of this study suggest that the subjective appetite ratings could be different across different Sasang constitutional types.

1. Objectives: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of Yangkyuksanhwa-tang which is based on sasang constitutional medicine for dermatitis as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis. 2. Methods: This two patients were treated by Soyangin's constitutional medications according to the result of sasang constitutional diagnosis. We evaluated the severity in dermatitis that two methods ; doctor's view and patient's subjective itching. 3. Results & Conclusoins: This cases study shows an efficent result of using Yangkyuksanhwa-tang in treatment of dermatitis as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis.

Objectives The purpose of this case study was to report the main effect of Yangdokbaekho-tang to a Soyangin atopic dermatitis patient. Methods This patient was treated by Yangdokbaekho-tang, topical herbal extract, moxa and acupuncture according to the result of Sasang constitutional diagnosis. Results and Conclusions The patient's subjective symptoms of atopic dermatitis and general condition were improved after using Yangdokbaekho-tang in spite of patient's loose stool. The SCORAD index (Scoring Atopic Dermatitis Severity Index) which was used to evaluate the therapeutic effect of Sasang constitutional treatment on atopic dermatitis was also decreased from 86.3 to 42.8 without using anti-histamine or steroid medications.

Yang Depletion Symptomatology severe pattern is classified into initial phase pattern and intermediate phase pattern. And Yang Depletion Symptomatology critical pattern is classified into advanced phase pattern.

The severe pattern of Yin-Depletion (Mangeum) Symptomatology is classified into the pattern of Heat-related diarrhea accompanied by headache (Sinyeol-dutong Mangeum) and the advanced pattern of Heat-related diarrhea accompanied by headache (Sinyeol-dutong Mangeum). The critical pattern of Yin-Depletion (Mangeum) Symptomatology is classified into the pattern of Cold-related diarrhea accompanied by the abdominal pain (Sinhan-bocktong Mangeum) and the advanced pattern of Cold-related diarrhea accompanied by abdominal pain (Sinhan-bocktong Mangeum).

Objective This case report is to show the effectiveness of Sasang Constitutional Medicine treatment on the patient with delayed encephalopathy after acute carbon monoxide intoxication. Methods A 40-year-old female patient diagnosed with delayed encephalopathy after carbon monoxide poisoning 2 weeks ago before visiting our hospital. The patient suffered gait disturbance and cognitive disorder. She was identified as Soyangin and treated with Sasang constitutional Herbal Medicine(Yangkyuksanwha-tang and Hyungbangjihwang-tang). Improvement of symptoms was evaluated through Korean Version of Mini Mental Status Examination score(MMSE-K), Modified Barthel Index(MBI), Manual Muscle Testing(MMT), Range of Motion(ROM) and Hand Function Test. Results After 7 weeks of treatment, total score of MMSE-K increased from 0 to 26, the patient could walk by herself and had no trouble carrying out her daily life. Conclusions This case showed the effectiveness of Sasang constitutional medicine treatment for delayed encephalopathy after acute carbon monoxide intoxication.
