An Empirical Study on the Effect of Choice Factors of Gas Station on Repurchase Intention (소비자의 주유소 재방문의도에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 실증적 연구)

  • This research investigates the present situation of petroleum market and the potential strategy which help gas station obtain competitive advantages. Specifically, this research chooses five factors (product quality, service, price, multi-function, easy entrance) which are believed to be extensively related to repurchasing intention. The findings are as follows; First, four factors associated with gas station choice (product quality, service, price, multi-function) are related to repurchase intention except easy entrance. Second, sex and age have moderating effects between factors and repurchase intention. To keep and preoccupy new customers, the administrators of petroleum industry and gas station should establish sales/administration strategies considering these above.

Determinants of the Performance of Government Assistance to R&D Activities

  • The technological innovation is considered as an important factor and there is a positive externality in developing technology in the form of technology spillover. In this context, it is argued that government should play an active role in advancing technology development and several means have been introduced. This study attempts to analyze manufacturing firms' evaluation for the performance of government assistance programs to their R&D activities. Considering that the performance evaluation takes the form of a count outcome, we apply several kinds of count data models. Some interesting findings emerge from the analysis. For example, we found that a firm's sales amount, dummy for the firm's having an R&D department, dummy for the firm's being a venture one, and the number of the firm's innovative activities have positive relationships with the degree that the firm evaluates government assistance as being useful.

  • From the growth of Internet technology, many e-commerce principles have been introduced in airline industry. The computer reservation systems(CRS) is the first real-time business application and considered as the earliest examples of e-commerce. In airlines, the early e-business activity was to build the web site for providing flight information to customers. Recently, many airlines are expanding the capability of the web site for selling tickets on the web to make use of the cheaper distribution channel. In this paper, we focus on the impacts of airline e-business being implemented in airline distribution channels. Using the conjoint analysis, we suggest a model for estimating the change of market sales for each distribution channel. With the empirical survey, we can find some implications on the e-business strategy and the effective internet marketing tools for airlines.

  • One of challenging issues of market oriented manufacturing organization is product proliferation. However, increasing product variety not only incurs additional direct and indirect production cost, but also aggravates production system performance such as inventory level, customer lead time and fill rate. Recently, as one of the most beneficial strategic choices to menage the risks associateed with product variety and uncertain sales, special attention is focused on the product/process redesign to delayed product differentiation. In this paper, we develop an analytical model to demonstrate the existence of an optimal level of product differentiation, which can be used to provide theoretical basis in establishing market oriented SCM strategy.

  • Conventional research on customer relationship management(CRM) in general has focused on the effects of individual customer's satisfaction, retention and profit management. However, corporate customers are more profitable than individual customers because of high volume and frequent transactions between companies. In this article, a prototype for a corporate customer relationship management is developed in the postal service. First, the frequency and amount of customers' usage were examined, and thereby the corporate customer rating scheme was established to provide customized service. Second, five different types of usage patterns were determined using clustering analysis. In addition, we presented the rationales behind the five types of patterns. Third, RFM(recency, frequency, monetary) analysis was performed, and then action plans were developed to increase sales. Finally, the prototype software was developed to automatically perform the above analysis using MS Excel program.

  • With opening of KTX, Korea Railway have carried out a variety of marketing strategies unprecedented, which have brought successful results for dramatical increasing passengers in KTX from 72 thousand passengers per day in 2004 to 85 thousand passengers per day in 2005. These marketing strategies for Korea Rail to use in increasing passengers for KTX are the following: special discount fare system for non-season to penetrate into transport market in the first time, fare system reform considering to customers' willing to pay, new item development by each specific market like contracting transport, YMS(Yield Management System) by stages, Home-ticket-and-e-ticket and tele-marketing service, and wide range covering sales network making it comfortable for users in KTX. This paper discusses these successful marketing strategies and its performance and finally suggests strategic implications for KTX growth.

This study was made to determine how the hotel food & beverage goods is using this potentially revolutionary marketing and management tool by taking an exploratory look at the internet and at worldwide-web hotel sites. The type of hotel-related sites that exist on the web was examined. To have a successful web site and realize the potential of that tool, one must make some plans carefully Also, being on the internet requires a full marketing strategy, and one must know his own personal goals. The goals are to increase worldwide visibility, upgrade public relations and publicity, develop sales, and include new technology in internal communication. The internet also has a communication function for internal management takes. hotel companies have established themselves on the Web with their own web sites or via a link from a third party. Using the evidence from many of these sites this study reveals the current strengths and weaknesses of the use of the internet as a business and marketing tool by hotel food & beverage goods.

  • Modern consumers tend to show value-oriented, image-centered, individualized, and emotionalized consumption behavior, not the consumers who are simply provided with products. Department store industry actively corresponds to the changing consumption behaviors of consumers and pays attention to Visual Merchandising(VMD) as a strategy to visually differentiate stores and sales environments. This study shows 6 parts of effective VMD; presentation of product, product display, color composition, planning of lighting, POP and sign display.
