품질과 비용의 득실관계를 고려한 품질기능전개 모형 (A Model of Quality Function Deployment with Cost-Quality Tradeoffs)

  • This paper presents an analytic method of quality function deployment(QFD) that is to maximize customer satisfaction subject to technical and economic sides in process design. We have used Wasserman's normalization method and the analytical hierarchy process(AHP) to determine the intensity of the relationship between customer requirements and process design attributes. This paper also shows cost-quality model the tradeoff between quality and cost as a linear programming(LP) with new constraints that have designated special process required allocating firstly. The cost-quality function deployment of piston ring is presented to illustrate the feasibility of such techniques.

  • A licensing approach for new fuel design is propose. It includes the possible licensing options to be taken according to the level of significance of design changes. This approach can be applied on legal grounds of the AEA, Article 44.3 and Article 21, but implies that the related ERAEAs should be revised or other alternative regulatory guidelines should be prepared. However, it is not intended to invoke additional requirements but rather to streamline and formulate the current practice by using one of supplementary provisions of the AEA, Article 104.2 which is recently enacted for approval of the technical report on a special topic.

ISO 26262 automotive functional safety: issues and challenges

  • Recently, the automotive industry has been introduced to ISO 26262 in November 2011 to address the necessity of safety risk from sensor to actuator by providing guidance in the form of requirements and processes. The malfunctioning behaviour of these systems could have significant impact on the safety of humans and/or the environment. Most of the modern automobiles are equipped with embedded electronic systems which include lots of Electronic Controller Units (ECUs), electronic sensors, signals, bus systems and coding. Due to the complex application in electrical, electronics and programmable electronics, the need to carry out detailed safety analyses which focuses on the potential risk of malfunction is crucial for automotive systems. In this paper, the international trends on pre and post introduction of ISO 26262 through publications will be analyzed as well as to take a glimpse in the activities for implementing this standard by the automotive manufacturers. The issues and challenges which have been occurring from implementing this standard also will be highlighted.

  • Recently, in order to reduce traffic accident related fatalities, increasing number of studies are conducted regarding the vehicle safety enhancement devices. But very few studies about test procedures and requirements for vehicle safety systems are being carried out. Since BSD, as one of the most important safety features, is installed on a new vehicle, its performance test method has to be evaluated. Independent factors irrelevant to the device types including collision position, vehicle speed and closing speed are used to calculate test distance away from the current vehicle. Effect of roadway geometry as radius of curvature is introduced to propose possible misjudgement of following vehicle as adjacent one. The study results would be utilized to enhance the test procedure of BSD performance.

Performance evaluation of safety-critical systems of nuclear power plant systems

  • The complexity of safety critical systems of Nuclear Power Plant continues to increase rapidly due its transition from analog to digital systems. It has thus become progressively more imperative to model these systems prior to their implementation in order to meet the high performance, safety and reliability requirements. Timed Petri Nets (TPNs) have been widely used to model such systems for non-functional analysis. The paper presents a novel methodology for the analysis of the performance metrics using PN modeling. The paper uses the isomorphism property of the TPNs and the Markov chains for the performance analysis of the safety critical systems. The presented methodology has been validated on a Shutdown System of a Nuclear Power Plant.

철도 선로안전시설에 관한 기초연구 (A Fundamental Research on the Safety Facilities of Railroad)

  • In this research, safety requirements for guard rail, buffer stop, car stop scotch block, protection device, fire protection facilities, safety siding, escape facilities and inundation protection facilities are studied to establish a standard. First, various kinds of guard rails and their construction methods are investigated. Researches on the level difference of main track and guard rail, joint, length, and fastening force of guard rail are done. Second, the classification of buffer stop and car stop scotch block and its characteristics are examined, and the impact force, speed limit and capacity of buffer stop are summarized. Details of protection device, fire protection facilities, safety siding, escape facilities and inundation protection facilities are also investigated. From this fundamental research results, basic data on the safety facilities of railroad system are established.

  • Onboard ATC performs the train speed ristriction function by receiving the speed limit on sections of track from wayside ATC. Onboard ATC can protect passenger from collision and derailment, and so on. So, the high level of safety and reliability for Onboard ATC is required, and by this reason, it is also required to improve the safety of Onboard ATC by applying the result of safety analysis on the Onboard ATC into its design and developing from the concept definition to the detailed desing phase. The paper introduces, when developing Onboard ATC, the safety improvement of Onboard ATC can be accomplished by applying system requirements from Risk Analysis into software and hardware.

  • By 33 CFR 154.828 regulation, a liquid seal must be installed on the inlet to vapor destruction unit in vapor control system. However, install and maintenance of liquid seal are subject to many problems in ship environment. Therefore, US Coastguard, which is the governing body of the regulation, have prepared another clause in the regulation for the exemption from previous clauses. In this paper, relevent regulation is reviewed, together with the requirements for exemption from liquid seal installation. A previous example case is also studied to propose how safety assessment for the alternative safety devices replacing liquid seal should be performed.

  • The nuclear power plant construction project is a large-scale project that involved a daily maximum of thousands of workers. many equipment and laborers involved has been required consistently to minimize the need for safety through real-time safety management. But current nuclear power plant construction site is only managed to access of workers and equipments. The purpose of this study is the owner requirements reflects the characteristics of the nuclear power plant construction project integrated safety management system utilizing active RFID and GPS positioning technology.
