Recently, many high rise buildings is planning and under construction over the world. The drilled shafts as a foundation of high rise buildings are often adopted fur the purpose of construction safety and construction cost effectiveness. It is common that the capacity of drilled shafts is beyond conventional conception. The reasonable design and quality assurance for the drilled shaft as foundation of high rise building become much more important since the drilled shafts should bear much higher working load. This paper reviews state of the art of the design and quality assurance for the drilled shafts as foundation of high rise buildings. And also some related suggestions are given in this paper.

After laws for recycling promotion of construction wastes was established on December, 2003, successive technical and institutional measures related to construction wastes are driven. Typically quality standards for recycled aggregate were enacted and officially announced, and recently the quality assurance system for recycled aggregate is promoted to be established. In relation, this study reviewed major factors affecting certification examination necessary to carry out quality assurance system for recycled aggregate and related standards to guarantee the quality of recycled aggregate. More specifically it is suggested that working place examination related to manufacturing facility and planning, quality control manpower and system, environmental and safety control, etc, and quality inspection with classified by for road construction, for concrete, and for asphalt concrete are used as quality assurance standards.

Since IMF system was introduced once, downsizing has been usual phenomenon in business sphere. Downsizing influences the unemployed, and also the survivors such as in job stress, communication bias, lower organizational commitment and so on. This paper reviewed the relationship between organizational commitment and service quality, and the moderating effect of sex in hotel. Based on the responses from 494 hotel employees, the results of multiple regressional analysis showed that affective OC and normative OC have affirmative effects on service quality. The results of moderating analysis showed that continuance OC has an affirmative interactive-effect on responsiveness, assurance, and empathy with gender, and affective OC an negative interactive-effect on assurance.

Recently, product-reliability and process-reliability in product development processes has been regarded as an important issue in many manufacturers. TRIZ which is theory for inventive solving is required to obtain reliability of each process. To solve the technological problems, TRIZ provides problems can be occurred in product development processes as a contradiction matrix based on 40 creative invention principles with alternatives for physical and technological contradiction. This paper suggests the method for inventive solving to ensure the reliability assurance of product development processes based on TRIZ.

Structural damage identification (SDI) methods have been proposed to monitor the safety of structures. However, the traditional SDI methods using modal parameters, such as natural frequencies and mode shapes, are not sensitive enough to structural damage. To tackle this problem, this paper proposes a new SDI method based on transmissibility assurance criterion (TAC) and weighted Schatten-p norm regularization. Firstly, the transmissibility function (TF) has been proved a useful damage index, which can effectively detect structural damage under unknown excitations. Inspired by the modal assurance criterion (MAC), TF and MAC are combined to construct a new damage index, so called as TAC, which is introduced into the objective function together with modal parameters. In addition, the weighted Schatten-p norm regularization method is adopted to improve the ill-posedness of the SDI inverse problem. To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method, some numerical simulations and experimental studies in laboratory are carried out. The results show that the proposed method has a high SDI accuracy, especially for weak damages of structures, it can precisely achieve damage locations and quantifications with a good robustness.

It is strongly recommended that periodic quality assurance should be carried out in the Gamma Knife that is used in radiosurgery since high radiation is delivered in one session. Since the protocols for Gamma Knife recommended by associations or agencies on quality assurance are absent in Korea, hospitals possessing the Gamma Knife have developed their own protocols. In order to develop a quality assurance protocol suitable for Korea, we reviewed the protocols of the Gamma Knife manufacturer, USA and Japan. we categorized the periodic items into three parts,: radiation dose, mechanical and safety part. The USA recommended and regulated more strict than the manufacturer. Japan recommended the items and frequency based on the USA. In conclusion, we tried to suggest a basic Gamma Knife quality assurance protocol suitable for Korea.
