We have analyzed the comet records in the Korean history books: Samguksagi, Goryeosa, and Joseonwangjosillok. For a comparison, the Chinese and Japanese comet records collected by Kronk (1999) have also been analyzed. Power spectrum of the time series of the comet records is used to find periodic comets. Statistically significant periodicities in the power spectrum are detected at the periods of 38-40 years, about 76 years, and 300-400 years for all Korean, Chinese, and Japanese comet records. We have also calculated the past orbits of some comets that have been recently observed, to check whether or not they were recorded in the history books. We use a multistep method to numerically integrate the comet's orbital motion backward in time to 51 B.C. The gravitational force due to the Sun and the nine planets, non-gravitational force, and the relativistic effects have been considered. Comparison of comet's perihelion passage time and the position on the sky with the historical records shows that the comet Halley were recorded at every passage in both Goryeo and Joseon periods. The orbital motion of the comet Pons-Brooks has also been compared with the Korean records. For the comet Tempel-Tuttle, Swift-Tuttle, and Ikeya-Zhang, we have compared our calculation of the orbital motions with those of the previous studies.

This study reviewed the perspective of the institutional application and trade finance settlement of Bank Payment Obligation(BPO). The BPO is a payment method based on trade data-matching which can be used for risk mitigation and payment. The BPO offers the institutional advantages such as an automated solution, an assurance of payment, an improved overall efficiency of business, risk mitigation for all parties, trade financing, etc. The BPO will be developed as a new trade payment method that meets the periodic paradigm thanks to many benefits and usefulness. The BPO will greatly improve the efficiency and stability of the trade payment system in that it is operated by a technology-enabled, databased mechanism that can be applied to a variety of trade transactions. So, the BPO is expected to evolve into an alternative instrument of the trade payment system. This paper is based on documentary research focusing on papers, websites of ICC and SWIFT, and international regulation and laws and so on.

The thesis examines genealogical study of various aspects to overcome lots of problems which come by when we execute SWIFTNet TSU BPO. Practical implications regarding the innovation of electronic trade infrastructure are as follows. First, the shipping documents in the SWIFTNet TSU BPO are directly sent to an importer by an exporter after the baseline is confirmed. With this process itself, therefore, the bank cannot secure the account receivable. When initiating the SWIFTNet TSU BPO deal, it is needed to set regulations on the bank's account receivable security in the contract. Second, the SWIFTNet TSU BPO should also have an institutionally unified sharing platform with security, stability and convenience. It other words, it is needed to develop services which meet e-payment paradigm and international environments through continued analysis on market changes and flow. Third, the SWIFTNet TSU is useful in terms of promptness, reduction of risk in foreign exchange payment, cost reduction. Therefore, the SWIFT should be perfectly united and linked among the banks, importer and exporter to make the SWIFTNet TSU more convenient in countries around the world. Fourth, the SWIFT should be approached from the aspect of expansion of network and creation of a new business model through analysis on these problems with a worldwide perspective. At the same time, it is necessary to build a cooperative system to share information and promote comprehensive management for efficient operation.

Existing system management software solutions show limitations in time and space, as well as problems such as uncertain error messages, and also difficulty providing swift assistance or real time emergency support. Therefore, a wireless remote control system has been designed and implemented in this thesis, which is capable of managing and monitoring remote systems using mobile communication devices (Mobile Phone, PDA, Smart Phone, Webpad) for instantaneous control. The implemented real time wireless remote control system provides remote server management functions, error or event message (unctions, log record functions, authentication function via mobile devices.

From 2009, CEOU of Seoul National University has been utilizing the United Kingdom Infrared Telescope (UKIRT) at Mauna Kea, Hawaii, as one of its research facilities. UKIRT is a telescope with 3.8m primary mirror, and it is currently the largest telescope specialized for infrared observations. We will summarize our research activities using UKIRT, which include Infrared Medium-deep Survey (IMS) of proto-clusters and high redshift quasars, NIR imaging programs of Gamma Ray Bursts (GRBs), Gamma Ray sources, and SNUQSO quasars. Our research programs include international collaboration with the UK GRB team, the NASA/Swift team, Pomona College, and National Central University of Taiwan. We will also touch on our future plan of using UKIRT.

A rational method is presented for estimating the power increase of a ship at sea. A probabilistic approach is applied to determine the weather condition at sea, A comparison is made between some full-scale data and the result of Swift's method. A comparison is also made to find differences among the results of eight kind methods for the wind added resistance of a VLCC in head wind. The mean difference between the results is 7％, in general, for a given relative wind speed.

NATM technic had been applied to Nakaya tunnel of Sin kan express R.R lines in 1975. on the worst expandable geological conditions, application of NATM method was carried out good result. Measurement data which include convergencymeter, inclinometer, extensometor load-cell, strain gage data of shotcrete stress and steel arch. was explained with slides. Induced NATM technic has been improved since 1975 as follows, specially adhesive method of shotcrete instead of spray method such as tunnel swift lining Sliding press lining, clean lining by pumping and sweeping tote lining ets.

We combine data from two all-sky surveys, the Swift/Burst Alert Telescope 22 Month Source Catalog and the AKARI Point Source Catalogue, in order to study the connection between the hard X-ray (> 10 keV) and infrared (IR) properties of local active galactic nuclei (AGN). We find two photometric diagnostics are useful for source classification: one is the X-ray luminosity vs. IR color diagram, in which type 1 radio-loud AGN are well isolated from other AGN. The second one uses the X-ray vs. IR color-color diagram as a redshift-independent indicator for identifying Compton-thick (CT) AGN. Importantly, CT AGN and starburst galaxies in composite systems can also be separated in this plane based upon their hard X-ray fluxes and dust temperatures. This diagram may be useful as a new indicator to classify objects in new surveys such as with WISE and NuSTAR.
