A Study on Threshold of Hearing of Sun shade Motor Sound Using Masking Effect (마스킹 효과를 이용한 선셰이드 모터음의 최소가청치 특성에 관한 연구)

  • Panaroma Sun roof's sun shade motor elicits two major sounds when operating: the tonal sound and the white noises. Generally, the sound related to the sharpness contributes the most to the quality of motors' tonal sound. The primary purpose of this study was to set the loudness of the motor's objective tonal sound utilizing the masking effect by its white noises. To conduct this study, the sound made by the operating sun shade motor was categorized into two different subsets of masker and test tone to examine the masking threshold. Also, the shifts of masking threshold were observed with the varying masker loudness.

Degree of Heterosis in Diallel Crosses of Burley and Chinese Sun-cured Tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.) (버어리종 연초와 중국 양건종의 이면교잡에 의한 양적형질의 잡종강세정도)

  • This study was conducted to obtain the basic information for breeding of burley(N. tabacum cv. burley) and sun-cured tobacco(N. tabacum cv. sun-cured) variety. Two burley(Burley 21, KB 108), and T.I. 1068 and three sun-cured varieties(Yeonbyeon 3, Jaheungyeon and Jaraehong) were diallel crossed and 15 combinations of F$_1$generations were made in 1998, respectively. Six parental varieties, 15 F$_1$s were grown under the complete randomized block design with 3 replications at Chonju Experiment Station, Korea Ginseng & Tobacco Research Institute in 2000. The data of 12 quantitative characters were measured for degree of heterosis. The results obtained are as follows. Heterosis of F$_1$generation was positive in weight per leaf, plant height, stem diameter, yield, leaf length and total alkaloid content. Cross combinations between either Burley 21 or KB 108 and sun-cured varieties showed comparatively high heterosis in each characters.

SUN INTERFEREN PREDICTIONS FOR THE KOMPSAT TT&C STATION

  • The Sun interference event predictions for the KOMPSAT TT&C station were performed to analyze the frequency of the event and the impact on the TT&C link. The KOMPSAT orbit was propagated including only J2 geopotential term for maintaining the Sun-synchronism and no other perturbations were included. Local time of ascending node of the KOMPSAT satellite was set to 10h50m00s. The TT&C station was assumed to locate in Taejon and have 9 meter antenna for S-band link. One year of simulation from 1999/07/01 were performed out of 3 year of mission lifetime of KOMPSAT satellite. Total four times of Sun interference events were occurred during 1 year of simulation and those lasted about 50 seconds altogether. The C/N degradation of the TT&C system was calculated about 4dB. The Sun interference event of 50 seconds of year are 0.0076 percents of the S-band contact time when the 30 minute of contact time is assumed in a day.

SOLAR ACTIVITY AND SPACE ENVIRONMENT (태양활동과 우주환경)

  • The Earth is exposed to constant outflow of the solar wind from the outer layers of the Sun, and violent transient events taking place from active regions increase the energy flux of both radiation and particles leaving the Sun. Thus the space surrounding the Earth is a highly dynamic environment that responds sensitively to changes in radiation, particles and magnetic field arriving from the Sun. Nowadays, it becomes increasingly important to understand how the physical system of Earth-space works and how the space around the Earth connects to interplanetary space. In the present paper we describe how explosive solar events, such as CME(Coronal Mass Ejection) and flares affect the Earth-space environment and how the space weather reacts to them. Practical consequences are presented to demonstrate why a broader view of Earth's environment is greatly needed to cope with modern day's inhabitation problem in a rapidly developing space age.

  • Recently, photovoltaic generator system is widely extended by energy policy of the government. Add to this, for high efficiency of power generation per natural light unit area is needed to sun tracking system. And it is needed to condensed light generator for reducer of equipment expense. As method of solving this problem, this paper is developed multi-flat reflector sun tracking system for sun photocell maximum power generation. The system is consisted of multi-flat reflector and two axes machinery and sun location perceiver and AVR controller. GaAs 3J cell generated 6.75 times power more than silicon cell by times condensing light system. As a result, condensing light system of multi-flat reflector generated maximum power and showed reducing costs to photovoltaic generator.

  • An illumination system by using sun light is optimally designed. The developing system consists of main controler for sun tracking, Cds sensor module, and light translation system based on optical fiber. A sun tracking algorithm is designed in such away that the illumination system stand with straight angle to the direction of sun within $\pm$2$^{\circ}$as permissible tolerance. To show the validity of the developed system, several experiments will be illustrated.

  • In this paper. a prototype of a mobile Sun tracking system is proposed. The proposed system uses 2-axis tilt sensor and 3-axis magnetic sensor to measure the orientation and the posture of the system according to the horizontal system of coordinates, which are used to compensate the slope effects. Then through astronomical calculation using the time and position information obtained by GPS sensor the azimuth and altitude of the Sun from that location is calculated. The position of the Sun is converted to that of the mobile Sun tracking system coordinates and used to control A-axis and C-axis of the system.

  • We investigated the characteristics of transformer type SFCL with neutral line. The transformer type SFCL having neutral line has achieved the simultaneous quench because the secondary winding has acted as parallel reactor. The fault current of SFCL was limited according to ratio of turn number between primary and secondary windings. Therefore, the power burden of superconducting element can be reduced by reduction of ratio of turn number between primary and secondary windings. As a result, we could expect reduction of it's volume in the transformer type SFCL.

  • 본 논문에서는 Kinect 장비를 이용하여 모션캡쳐를 할 수 있는 툴을 제작하여 제공한다. 자신이 캡쳐한 모션 데이터를 Web상에 공유하여 다른 사용자들이 볼 수 있게 한다. 궁극적인 목표로는 보급형 모션캡쳐장비 Kinect 사용한다면 간단하고 비교적 저렴하게 모션캡쳐를 사용할 수 있을 것이며, 모션캡쳐라는 생소함을 해소시키고자 함에 목표를 두었다.

Design for Hybrid Circular Bragg Gratings for a Highly Efficient Quantum-Dot Single-Photon Source

  • We present a design for hybrid circular Bragg gratings (hCBGs) for efficiently extracting single-photons emitted by InAs quantum dots (QDs) embedded in GaAs. Finite-difference time-domain simulations show that a very high photon collection efficiency (PCE) up to 96% over a 50 nm bandwidth and pronounced Purcell factors up to 19 at cavity resonance are obtained. We also systematically investigate the geometry parameters, including the $SiO_2$ thickness, grating period, gap width and the central disk radius, to improve the device performances. Finally, the PCEs and the Purcell factors of QDs located at different positions of the hCBG are studied, and the results show great robustness against uncertainties in the location of the QD.
