IEEE Std. 1547.1 "IEEE Standard Conformance Test Procedures for Equipment Interconnecting Distribuyed Resources with Electric Power Systems" 는 단독운전 검출을 필요로 하는 시스템의 테스트 요구사항을 정하고 있다.

  • This paper suggests the parameters of the requirement conditions of minimum performance for a RF transceiver system design from the specifications of IEEE Std 802.11b and IEEE Std 802.11a. It has yielded the requirement conditions of minimum performance in the design process due to these parameters. A RF transceiver system is simulated by using Agilent ADS(Advanced Design System) after selecting the components of optimal conditions to fabricate the RF transceiver system. The results of both the analysis and the simulation will be used for a real wireless LAN design.

  • This paper presents ballistic limit velocity results of a variety of materials generally used in warships. Ballistic limit velocity is the velocity required for a projectile to penetrate a target with 50 percents of time and is widely used as a measure of armour bulletproofing. For this study, live fire experiments were implemented using AK-47 $7.62{\times}9mm$ mild steel core as a projectile as well as various thickness warship materials as a target. Also, methods of MIL-STD-662F, NIJ-STD-0101.06 and support vector machine were applied to measure the ballistic limit velocity and then their results were graphically analyzed for comparison. The minimum of their results was considered as the ballistic limit velocity in a conservative way.

  • Radar is a ground defense system that detects enemy aircraft and receives power from a mobile power supply in an emergency. Serious problems may occur if the equipment is damaged by impact during transportation for use. The US military standard MIL-STD-810H contains information on environmental tests such as shock and vibration applied to munitions. Therefore, in this study, the transient analysis of ANSYS 19.2 was performed using the impact data specified in MIL-STD-810H as an input value. Through this, the maximum stress generated in the impact environment of the mobile power supply container was derived, and the safety margin was calculated to confirm the reliability of the container.

  • The ball end mill is a type of cutting tool that is widely used to process complex mold shapes including aspheric surfaces. Unlike the flat end mill in which the cutting edge is formed on the cylindrical handle, the cutting edge is formed from the cylindrical handle to the hemispherical shape, which is advantageous for processing curved shapes. However, since the cutting speed continuously changes during machining due to the helix angle of the cutting edge or the machining inclination angle, it is difficult to obtain a precise machined surface. Therefore, in this paper, machining was performed while changing the helix angle of the ball end mill and the angle of the machining slope under the same cutting conditions for STD 11 material, which is widely used as a mold material. Through this, the effect of the two variables on the roughness of the machined surface was analyzed. As a result, if the helix angle was 0 degrees, it showed the best surface roughness of Ra. 0.16 ㎛. When the helix angle was 20 degrees, the best surface roughness of Ra. 0.18 ㎛ was occurred.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the revised guidance on electromagnetic (EM) interference qualification of Regulatory Guide 1.180 (Revision 2), which is published by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission for electromagnetic compatibility qualification for nuclear safety, by comparing it with that of the previous version. We confirmed that the test methods and the acceptance criteria of both CE101 and CE102 tests for conductive emission and RE102 test for radiating emission are changed in the recently revised Regulatory Guide 1.180 (Revision 2). Furthermore, we found that the revised Regulatory Guide 1.180 provides flexibility in the use of alternative methods for EM interference (EMI) qualification, in that a mix of the various base-standards is technically allowed. In addition, the primary revision of the updated Regulatory. Guide 1.180 is that MIL-STD-461G is to be adopted as the latest base-standard, instead of MIL-STD-461E. To evaluate the influence on EMI qualification for nuclear safety due to the endorsement of MIL-STD-461G, we thoroughly analyzed the modifications in the acceptance criteria and test methods for EMI qualification, and then validated the analyzed effect on the EMI qualification, which is caused by the revision of MIL-STD-461, by performing electromagnetic simulation for equipment under RE102 test.

  • In this paper, Adaptive Modulation and Coding (AMC) is combined with Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) multiplexing to improve the throughput performance of AMC. In addition, a system that adopts Selection Transmit Diversity (STD) in the AMC-MIMO multiplexing system is proposed. The received SNR is improved by adopting STD techniques. And it increases probability of selecting MCS (Modulation and Coding Scheme) level that supports higher data rate. This leads to an increased throughput of the AMC-MIMO system. STD in our simulation selects 2 transmission antennas from 4 antennas and AMC-MIMO multiplexing process operates with the selected antennas. The computer simulation is performed in flat Rayleigh fading channel. The results show that the proposed system achieves a gain of 1Mbps over the AMC-MIMO multiplexing system with the same number of antennas at 15dB SNR.

  • Objectives: It is necessary to examine groups carrying out sexually risky behavior because the prevalence of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) is high among them. In this study, the prevalence of STDs among homosexuals and sexbuying men in South Korea was investigated, along with their sexual risk factors. Methods: Men who have sex with men (MSMs, n=108) were recruited in Seoul and Busan by applying the time location sampling method, while sex-buying men (n=118) were recruited from a john school in Gyeonggi province, the suburbs of Seoul. Dependent variables included past or present infection with syphilis, Chlamydia, gonorrhea, and human immunodeficiency virus. Independent variables included health behavior, social support, sexual behavior, and safe sex. Results: It was found that when the MSMs were non-drunk while having sexual intercourse (odds ratio [OR], 0.132), they showed a higher STD infection rate when they had a higher number of anal sex partners (OR, 5.872), rarely used condoms (OR, 1.980), had lower self-efficacy (OR, 0.229), and were more anxious about becoming infected with an STD (OR, 3.723). However, the men who paid for sex showed high STD infections when they had more sex partners (OR, 2.286) and lower education levels (OR, 3.028). Conclusions: STD infections among the two groups were high when they were engaged with many sex partners and not having protected sex. In other words, there was a gap in risky sex behavior within such groups, which was significantly related to the possibility of developing an STD. Therefore, the preventive intervention against STDs for these groups needs to be expanded to include management of sex behaviors.

  • A comparative study was performed on the microstructures and the mechanical properties of STD11 and 8Cr steel. The specimens were quenched from $1030^{\circ}C$ and tempered at $240^{\circ}C$ and $520^{\circ}C$. Vickers hardness, impact toughness and tensile tests were conducted at various tempering temperatures. Microstructural characterization to measure grain size, volume fraction of retained austenite and distribution of carbides was carried out by using SEM, EBSD, TEM and X-ray diffraction techniques. Due to finer $M_7C_3$ carbides dispersed, 8Cr steel showed larger impact toughness and plasticity than STD11 irrespective of the tempering temperature. While 8Cr steel had lower hardness in as-quenched state and after tempering at $240^{\circ}C$ owing to smaller carbide content and more retained austenite, it was harder after tempering at $520^{\circ}C$ due to larger precipitation hardening from finer $M_{23}C_6$.

  • Studied are the statistical thermal design (STD) methods that have been developed to satisfy the design basis which protects a pressurized water reactor (PWR) core against departure from nucleate boiling (DNB) during normal operations and anticipated transients. The objective of the statistical thermal design is to quantify the thermal design margin and to remove any excess conservatism from the DNB ratio calculations through statistically combining design parameter uncertainties, while still maintaining a high level of core protection. This report describes and compares the STD methods developed by the two U.S. reactor vendors (Westinghouse and B & W). Included are the characteristics of STD, statistical treatment of uncertainties, DNB design limit development methodology and the sample application of the STD technique to core thermal design analysis. It is observed that the STD methods developed by the two vendors are similiar to each other in principle, but different in the treatment of the uncertainties associated with the design parameters. The statistical thermal design is found to significantly improve the thermal design margin.
