  • This paper proposed new techniques of rotor position detection for Switched Reluctance Motor(SRM). This technique is very simple and easy to find out rotor position. The main idea uses the impulse responses which have different values between aligned and unaligned. In order to obtain the rotor position, the Impulse applied to the unenergized phases and their responses are analized to control the speed of SRM without shaft sensor, Experimental results verify the feasibility of the proposed method.

  • In this paper, an advanced torque control scheme of Switched Reluctance Motor(SRM) using modified non-linear logical TSF (Torque Sharing Function) with PWM is presented. In the proposed control scheme, a simple calculation of PWM duty ratio and switching rules from DITC(Direct Instantaneous Torque Control) can reduce the torque ripple with fixed switching frequency. The proposed control scheme is verified by the computer simulations and experimental results.

  • Switched reluctance motor generally operates in the magnetically saturated region because the saturation gives several benefits to its performance. This paper investigates the modelling and fuzzy tuning PI control of a nonlinear switched reluctance motor. The modelling is performed through neural network technique. Fuzzy auto-tuning PI control is designed for a robust performance in load and speed variations. Simulation and experimental results indicate better performances compared with simple PI control.

  • This paper deals with the modal analysis and the displacement of stator due to electromagnetic forces in Switched Reluctance Motor(SRM). A free-free model of the stator based on structural 3-dimensional Finite Element Method(FEM) is used for investigation the natural frequencies and the mode shapes of the stator. In addition, The displacement caused by magnetic force acting on stator pole is analyzed by the structural FEM coupled with the magnetic force. From these results, the resonance speed is obtained by the relation of the natural frequencies of the harmonic frequencies of magnetic force. And, the eccentricity with respect to rotor is predicted from the analysis result of the mechanical displacement of stator. The natural frequencies of stator are compared with experimental ones measured by modal testing.

  • Advantages of switched reluctance motor(SRM) drives make it an attractive candidate for replacing adjustable speed ac and do drives in both industrial and consumer applications. Furthermore, a simple, low cost and robust SRM drive can be efficiently operatied ill the hostile environment of an automobile. In this paper, novel topology for fast response of various load is proposed. Proposed topology adapts anti-windup PI controller at increasing speed referense and activate braking mode at decreasing speed and forward load, Experiental results show that proposed topology have fast response charecteristics at increasing and decreasing speed reference.

  • 본 논문은 스위치드 릴럭턴스 전동기(Switched Reluctance Motor, 이하 SRM)의 상 인덕턴스를 추정하여 최고점과 최저점을 검출하는 방식으로 위치 센서를 이용하지 않는 직접토크 제어를 제안한다. 최고점으로부터 최저점의 위치 정보를 계산하여 이를 기준으로 회전 중인 회전자의 위치정보를 얻는다. 또한, 회전자의 위치정보를 필요로 하는 토크 계산 및 토크분배함수(Torque Sharing Function, 이하 TSF)는 상 인덕턴스 최저점 검출과 연관하여 계산하였다. 제안한 알고리즘은 시뮬레이션을 통하여 가능성을 입증하였다.

  • In this paper, the influence of electrical parameters such as the turn-on and turn-off angle on the torque and force characteristics is investigated for the reduction of the torque ripple which is main source of vibration and noise in switched reluctance motor (SRM). The four different types of the turn-on angle are set to the section of rising inductance profile respectively. The optimum turn-on angle is proposed for the acquisition of the flat current shape minimizing the torque ripple. 2D finite element method (FEM) considering the iron saturation and the actual switching circuit of the SRM drive is applied for the dynamic analysis. The simulation results of phase current and torque are also compared to the experimental results.

  • This paper presents dynamic characteristics of super high speed SRM and it's drive. The nonlinear model of super high speed SRM is implement by Matlab/simulink and the simulation results show that the prototypeSRM can operate up 20,000[rpm]with stable performance.

  • This paper describes a switching strategy for variable speed control and low torque ripple of Switched Reluctance Motor(SRM). The main advantage of this strategy is simple control. Therefore it can be constructed easily. And a design principle of SRM is represented for the proposed switching strategy. The proposed switching method is tested by simulation and experiment on various SRM type. As a result, The SRM drive with the proposed scheme is effective in reducing the torque ripple and variable speed control.
