  • The purpose of the study was to identify the factors on Gatekeeper behavior of adolescents for suicide prevention. The participants were five high school students from D metropolitan city. The collected data were analysed using t-test, ANOVA, Multiple regression with SPSS 21.0 program. In the results of the study, Gatekeeper behavior showed significant difference by gender(t=2.85, p=.005), type of school(t=-2.81, p=.006), experience of significant others' suicide(t=-2.09, p=.038). Gatekeeper behavior had a positive relationship with the perception toward suicide prevention(r=.23, p=.006) and the knowledge about suicide prevention(r=.42, p<.001). In regression analysis, significant influencing factors on Gatekeeper behavior were the perception toward suicide prevention (${\beta}=.20$, p=.006) and the knowledge about suicide prevention(${\beta}=.35$, p<.001), and these variables showed 24.3% of variance. Therefore, it need to develop the intervention for improving positive perception and active knowledge about suicide prevention in adolescents. In addition, future study to identify various predictable variables is needed.

  • This study is to find the convergence effect of a spouse's support on postpartum depression and self-efficacy in primipara. The subjects were 37 primipara who gave birth to normal full term babies and their spouses. Each spouse supported their mother and baby from the period of postpartum 1st to 6th week after finishing three sessions of postpartum mother and baby care using teaching material. The data was collected in the 1st and 6th week postpartum and analyzed using SPSS 20.0. The prevalence of postpartum depression in the 1st and 6th week were 24.3% and 0% each. The spouses' support lowered mothers' postpartum depression and increased self-efficacy(p<.001). And, the factors affecting to mothers' postpartum depression were additional personnel for postpartum management, income and antepartum depression, and to their self-efficacy was hospital treatment during pregnancy(p<.05). The results could be used in developing intervention programs on lowering primiparas' postpartum depression and increasing their self-efficacy after further studies with wider range of subjects and setting control group.

  • This study was conducted to identify the factors affecting nursing students' adjustment to college life. 364 students from six different nursing colleges were recruited into the study. The data were collected using questionnaires about bullying, peer support, ego-resilience and adjustment to college life and were analyzed using IBM SPSS 19.0 program. Data were collected from March 3rd, 2014 to December 12th, 2015. The results indicated that bullying(r=-.24, p<.001) had a significant negative association with nursing college adaptation. And adjustment to college life was positively correlated with peer support(r=.38, p<.001) and ego-resilience(r=.69, p<.001). The significant predictors of adjustment to college life were ego-resilience (F=334.33, p<.001), peer support(F=60.86, p<.001) and bullying(F=22.03, p<.001), explaining 47% of the variance. Based on the study results, we suggest that it is necessary to develop and apply the educational strategy to improve the peer support and ego-resilience for the adjustment to college life.

  • This study aimed to determine the changes of awareness and preference of dental hygienists according to the experience of using a digital intraoral scanner through a convergence study. Data collected by an online survey for dental hygienists in Busan, Gyeongnam and Gyeongbuk were analyzed by SPSS 24.0 program. When dental hygienists had an experience of using a digital intraoral scanner, the awareness and preference of digital intraoral scanners were significantly higher. The experience of using a digital intraoral scanner showed a positive correlation with the clinical application experience of digital intraoral scanners; the clinical application experience of digital intraoral scanners, with the awareness of digital intraoral scanners; and the awareness of digital intraoral scanners, with the preference of digital intraoral scanners. In conclusion, the dental hygienist's experience in clinical application of digital intraoral scanners is expected to increase the awareness and preference, resulting in the improvement of dental hygienists' work ability. Therefore, it is believed that continuous education and learning about digital oral scanners are needed.
