Using SPOT satellite imagery, 3 dimensional geographic information can be obtained from SPOT's oblique viewing image. Especially, SPOT provides high spatial resolution, adequate base/height ratio and stable orbit characteristics. In this paper, 3D terrain features were extracted using SPOT stereo image and also the techniques for generation of 3D graphic data were developed for the extracted terrain features. We developed computer programs to generate automatically 3D graphic files and to display geographic information on the computer screen, The results of this study may be effectively utilized for the development of 3D geographic information using satellite images.

In this paper, we generate the 3D geometric sensor model of SPOT-5 HRG stereo images which are processed in Supermode and have 2.5m ground spatial resolution, and calculate the RPC(Rational Polynomial Coefficients) for acquisition of topographic information using the exterior orientation parameters which are determined in the 3D geometric sensor modelling process. It is shown that SPOT-5 images can be modelled with me 3.3m accuracy by the bundle adjustment method used to model the existing SPOT series. Considering the accuracy of RPC's results with rmse 0.03m accuracy, the RPC model can replace the sensor model, if we emphasize the simplification and the cost.

In real structures, multi-spot welded joints are more frequently used than a single-spot welded joint. Most researches, however, have been focused to a single-spot welded joint until now. In this paper, the fatigue behavior of multi-spot welded joints are investigated using the finite element solutions of the multi-spot welded specimens. The local strain approach is used rather than the stress intensity factor approach to estimate the fatigue life since the former is quite simple and straightforward. It is found that the fatigue behavior of multi-spot welded joints is different from that of single-spot welded joints. The local strain approach is still applicable to multi-spot welded joints.
The study was intended to investigate production tools and conditions of oil spot following calculating optimal composition of oil spot tenmoku glaze which can be produced at 1250$\sim$l260$^{\circ}C$. Since oil spot is influenced by the viscosity of glaze, viscosity of various glazes fit for oil spot production was determined by an SciGlass 6.0-based calculating method. Applied amount and calcinating conditions of the resulting substance of oil spot, $Fe_2O_3$, were analyzed. As a result, the viscosity of the glaze durable at 1260$^{\circ}C$ was found to range from 4.2 to 4.4, natural cooling was used after oxidizing calcinations at 1260$^{\circ}C$ for an hour, and the best oil spot tenmoku was produced by the natural cooling process after 1 h calcinations at 1150$^{\circ}C$ in the middle of natural cooling. Also, the study showed that thickness of glaze was found to have an effect on the production of oil spot and resulting oil spot was filled mostly with $Fe_2O_3$.

The use of SPOT Imagery is a growing trend in the field of small and middle scale mapping, as well as in establishing topographic database. This study is about 3-D positioning using the SPOT Imagery, where the accuracy and the gemetric characteristics of SPOT photos are analysed according to the preprocessing level (level 1AP,1B). As a result of this study the following could be determined, i. e 1) the geometric characteristics of SPOT Imagery according to the preprocessing level, 2) the optimal polynomial type for exterior orientations of each preprocessing level, and 3) the type of significant additional parameters. It was found that both the geometric precision and accuracy of level 1AP is higher than those of level 1B, which implies that level 1AP is more suitable for precise 3-D positioning and map production.
The life of a power transformer is dependent on the life of the cellulose paper, which influenced by the hot spot temperature. Thus, the determination of the cellulose paper's life requires identifying the hot spot temperature of the transformer. Currently, however, the power transformer uses a heat run test is used in the factory test to measure top liquid temperature rise and average winding temperature rise, which is specified in its specification. The hot spot temperature is calculated by the winding resistance detected during the heat run test. This paper measures the hot spot temperature in the single-phase, 154kV, 15/20MVA power transformer by the optical fiber sensors and compares the value with the hot spot temperature calculated by the conventional heat run test in the factory test. To measure the hot spot temperature, ten optical fiber sensors were installed on both the high and low voltage winding; and the temperature distribution during the heat run test, three thermocouples were installed. The hot spot temperature shown in the heat run test was $92.6^{\circ}C$ on the low voltage winding. However, the hot spot temperature as measured by the optical fiber sensor appeared between turn 2 and turn 3 on the upper side of the low voltage winding, recording $105.9^{\circ}C$. The hot spot temperature of the low voltage winding as measured by the optical fiber sensor was $13.3^{\circ}C$ higher than the hot spot temperature calculated by the heat run test. Therefore, the hot spot factor (H) in IEC 60076-2 appeared to be 2.0.

The mechanical behavior of two rectangular spot-welded plates under bending is investigated in detail. The equivalent thickness of spot-welded plates is introduced in this study and used in explaining the results. The focus of the analysis is to evaluate the effect of spot-welding from the view point of equivalent thickness. The investigation of deflection has been performed as comparing the result from finite element analysis with the measured data of the spot-welded plates for various parameters, such as aspect ratio, area ratio, and distance ratio of spot-welding points. The effect of spot-welding is as large as 62%(at r=1.0) when the area ratio of spot-welding point is just 4.52%.
Spot-welding is widely used to construct passenger car bodies in automotive industry. Occasionally severe spot-weld distortions in sub-assembly make further spot-weld difficult. In this paper, distortions for various spot-weld conditions are measured using coordinate measuring machine. Then, based on finite element solution for unit translation or unit rotation of nugget edge, equivalent loads for spot-weld distortions are determined. They can be used to predict the spot-weld distortion using finite element method.
The manual inspection of photovoltaic (PV) panels to meet the requirements of inspection work for large-scale PV power plants is challenging. We present a hot spot detection and positioning method to detect hot spots in batches and locate their latitudes and longitudes. First, a network based on the YOLOv3 architecture was utilized to identify hot spots. The innovation is to modify the RU_1 unit in the YOLOv3 model for hot spot detection in the far field of view and add a neural network residual unit for fusion. In addition, because of the misidentification problem in the infrared images of the solar PV panels, the DeepLab v3+ model was adopted to segment the PV panels to filter out the misidentification caused by bright spots on the ground. Finally, the latitude and longitude of the hot spot are calculated according to the geometric positioning method utilizing known information such as the drone's yaw angle, shooting height, and lens field-of-view. The experimental results indicate that the hot spot recognition rate accuracy is above 98%. When keeping the drone 25 m off the ground, the hot spot positioning error is at the decimeter level.
