The DSD(Direct Stream Digital) encoder, which is a standard for SACD(Super Audio Compact Disc) proposed by Sony and philips, uses 1 bit representation with a sampling frequency of 2.8224MHz (64${\times}$44.1kHz). For multi-rate PCM (Pulse Code Modulation) input such as 8${\sim}$192kHz, a external sample-rate converter is necessary to the DSD encoder. This paper has been proposed a digital mter structure composed of sample-rate converter and interpolaton filter for the DSD encoder with multi-rate (8${\sim}$192kHz) PCM input, without a external sample-rate converter.

This paper describes a monocular PSD-based motion capture sensor to employ with commercial video game systems such as Microsoft's XBOX and Sony's Playstation II. The system includes a PSD(Position Sensitive Detector) and active infrared (IR) LED markers that are placed on the object to be tracked. The micro-controller calculates the 3D position of the markers using only the measured intensity and the 2D position on the PSD. A series of experiments were performed to evaluate the performance of our prototype system. From the experimental results we see that the proposed system has the advantages of the compact size, the low cost, the easy installation, and the high frame rates to be suitable for high speed motion tracking in games.

Activation battery that are required to deliver short pulses to power, for instance, pyrotechnic devices required during jettison payload separation. Activation battery contains 24 Sony US18650 cells configured as 3 strings in parallel, with each string containing 8 series connected cells. This allows to meet voltage and capacity requirements specified for the mission. In this paper design description and specifications of Activation battery are presented. Qualification test flow and results are also shown to make sure the performance in the predicted space environment. Electrical performance was proven on real equipment load assembly.

This paper deals with the Cell-based distributed processing for generating free viewpoint images by merging multiple differently focused images. We previously proposed the method of generating free viewpoint images without any depth estimation. However, it is not so easy to realize real-time image reconstruction based on our previous method. In this paper, we discuss the method to reduce the processing time by dimension reduction for image filtering and Cell-based distributed processing. Especially, the method of high-speed image reconstruction by the Cell processor on SONY PLAYSTATION3(PS3) is described in detail. We show some experimental results by using real images and we discuss the possibility of real-time free viewpoint image reconstruction.

1990년에 Sony사는 탄소 음극과 리튬 코발트 산화물($LiCoO_2$) 양극을 함유하는 최초의 상용 리튬이온 전지를 발표하였다. 이후, 전지 성분을 변형하여 안전성과 전기화학적 용량을 향상시키고 비용을 줄이기 위한 연구가 수행되었다. 이러한 관심의 대부분은 양극 용량이 전지 용량을 한정하고 전지 비용의 40%까지 양극 원재료 비용에서부터 비롯되었기 때문에 양극 대체기술 개발에 집중되었다. 리튬이온 전지는 현재 휴대용 전자 기기 시장을 좌우하고 있다. 또한 온실가스 배출의 감소를 요구하는 환경보호에 대한 관심에 대한 새로운 시장 기회가 조성되었다. 1990년대 이후, 비독성의 저가 재료를 사용하여 환경 영향과 비용을 최소화 하려는 노력을 경주하면서 에너지 밀도를 극대화하고, 리튬 삽입과 추출의 유용 범위를 확대하여 용량을 극대화하고 있다.

This paper introduces a new approach to develop a fast gait for quadruped robot using GP(genetic programming). Planning gaits for legged robots is a challenging task that requires optimizing parameters in a highly irregular and multidimensional space. Several recent approaches have focused on using GA(genetic algorithm) to generate gait automatically and shown significant improvement over previous results. Most of current GA based approaches used pre-selected parameters, but it is difficult to select the appropriate parameters for the optimization of gait. To overcome these problems, we proposed an efficient approach which optimizes joint angle trajectories using genetic programming. Our GP based method has obtained much better results than GA based approaches for experiments of Sony AIBO ERS-7 in Webots environment.

본 연구는 알루미늄 단조 라인의 가열로 컨베이어에 적용된 6관절 이송용 로봇에 Machine Vision System을 구축 한 것으로 이송용 로봇이 작업 대상물을 적재하기 위한 위치정보를 획득하고 재처리하여 로봇 컨트롤러에 제공하는 비주얼가이던스 기법을 연구하여 이를 적용하였다. 적용된 Machine Vision System이 실제 구동에 있어서 안정함을 확인하였다. Machine Vision System에 적용된 CCD 센서로는 Sony사의 XC-HR50이 적용되었으며 Frame Grabber는 Matrox Meter II 카드가 적용되었다. Machine Vision System 제어기로는 범용PC(2.4Ghz, Windows 2000)를 사용하였으며 제어Software는 Microsoft 사의 Visual Basic 6.0 version을 사용하였다.

Recently several LCD TV makers including Samsung, LG and Sony actively have released LED LCD TV models on market. LED LCD TV is just which applied LED BLUs so that its color contrast ratio fairly enhance up to 1 million:1 and its thickness minimize to a few mm. Even this aspect seems somewhat to be each panel maker's strategies for prior market occupations on whole TV market. Without regard to the reasons, we do obviously meet a new era of technically advanced LCD TV. However we have still lots of problems or issues which we must overcome technically including LED chip/packaging process, secondary optics treatment, heat managements and cost reduction issues. Here I would like to forecast market volume and trend of LED LCD TV first and then discuss above almost of technical issues and suggest their possible solutions. Even these solutions looks better technologies and if they may increase production cost significantly, we will not prefer to choice that technology since lower cost policy can open the market. Finally I'm trying to suggest how well LED, as future light source, can apply to future LCD TV technologies.

본고에서는 비/저활용(57-66GHz) 대역에 대한 새로운 주파수 자원을 개척하여 HDTV급 신호를 케이블 및 위성방송 셋톱박스, 게임콘솔, DVD플레이어, 캠코더 및 이동식 멀티미디어 장비와 무선으로 연결시키는 전송 기술 개발을 위하여 Intel, Philips, Motorola, IBM, SiBeam, Panasonic, Sony등 세계적인 기업들이 국제 표준화(IEEE802.15, ETSI/BRAN, ECMA International) 공동 협력 및 기술 개발 경쟁을 벌이고 있는 상황이다. 본 표준기술은 국내 기업이 세계 시장을 장악하고 있는 LCD, PDP 및 차세대 DVD플레이어 등에 적용될 Wireless HD-SDI(High Definition Serial Data Interface)/ DVI(Digital Visual Interface)와, 외장 하드 디스크, 메모리 등 외부 기억 장치와의 자원 공유에 사용될 Muti-Gbps급 Wireless LAN, Wireless PAN, Wireless SAN(System Area Network) 등에 적용될 무선 전송 기술이다. 비/저활용 $59{\sim}66GHz$ 대역에 대한 국제 표준화로 IEEE802.15.3c를 중심으로 활발히 일어나고 있는 표준기술과 표준화 동향을 살펴본다.

This paper proposes an intelligent search modeling using avatar agent. This system consists of some modules such as agent interface, agent management, preprocessor, interface machine. Core-Symbol Database and Spell Checker are related to the preprocessor module and Interface Machine is connected with Best Aggregate Designer. Our avatar agent system does the indexing work that converts user's natural language type sentence to the proper words that is suitable for the specific branch information retrieval. Indexing is one of the preprocessing steps that make it possible to guarantee the specialty of user's input and increases the reliability of the result. It references a database that consists of synonym and specific branch dictionary. The resulting symbol after indexing is used for draft search by the internet search engine. The retrieval page position and link information are stored in the database. We experimented our system with the stock market keyword SAMSUNG_SDI, IBM, and SONY and compared the result with that of Altavista and Google search engine. It showed quite excellent results.
