  • Interrupted cutting has different cutting characteristics compared with continuous cutting. In interrupted cutting, the workpiece has a groove that regularly impacts the cutting tool and workpiece. Therefore, tool damage occurs rapidly, and this increases the cutting force and surface roughness. In this study, we performed interrupted cutting of carbon steel for machine structure (SM45C) using a coated carbide tool (TT7100). To predict the cutting force, we analyzed the experimental results with a regression analysis. The results were as follows: We confirmed that the factors affecting the principal force and radial force were cutting speed, depth of cut, and feed rate. From the multi-regression analysis, we deduced regression equations, and their coefficients of determination were 89.6, 89.27, and 28.27 for the principal, radial, and feed forces, respectively. This means that the regression equations were significant for the principal and radial forces but not for the feed force.

  • A null lens is designed for testing the hyperbolic mirror which is the first mirror of the off-axis three mirror anastigmat(TMA) designed as a high resolution camera for remote sensing. To choose a better null lens system for the hyperbolic surface under test, both autostigmatic and mixed type null lenses are designed and analysed for sensitivity with respect to change of each surface parameter such as the radius of curvature and the thickness.

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to confirm the effects of external applications(CLANCHE SM A Clinic) containing herbal extracts on patient with atopic dermatitis. Methods : A total of 24 patients who visited Semyung Oriental Medical Center from January 15th, 2014 to February 20th, 2014 were included in the study. In this study, the patients were treated with external applications(CLANCHE SM A Clinic) containing herbal extracts. For 4 weeks of gross examination and instrumental assesment were made before and after the study. Results : 1. In the primary endpoint, SCORAD index showed a statistically significant decline. 2. In the secondary endpoint, index of skin hydration and index of TEWL showed statistical significance. 3. In the secondary endpoint, index of skin pH showed no statistically significant result. 4. To evaluate the safety of the products for the human body, vital sign check were conducted and showed no statistically significant result. And There were no severe adverse events during this study. Therefore, it is suggested that the safety of the products, if used for certain period, should be safe for the human body. 5. In global assesment of efficacy, both experimenter and subjects evaluated external applications were effective. Conclusions : According to the above experiments, it is suggested that external applications(CLANCHE SM A Clinic) containing herbal extracts should be effective for the atopic dermatitis.

  • The effect of decorrelation on the coincidence is investigated with correlated photons produced by parametric down-conversion process. The degree of correlation between photon pairs is adjusted by changing the polarization dependent transmissivities of thin glass plate\ulcorner in front of two detectors. It was found that the single counts of each detectors are proportional to the transmissivity and the coincidence is proportional to the product of transmissivities of the glasses in front of two detectors.

  • We have fabricated a spectroadiometric system to measure spectral radiance of optical sources and evaluated its characteristics such as spectral responsivity, nonlinearity, and so on. The measurement system with PMT, Si, InGaAs, and IR-enhanced InGaAs detectors has shown a good linearity and a wide spectral responsivity of 250∼2500 nm. This spectroradiometric system will be used as the primary national standard system of spectral radiance measurements.

  • A continuous wave deuterium fluoride (DF) chemical laser was designed and manufactured, and we have achieved DF laser beam generation with the maximum output power of 101 W. The gain medium is vibration-rotationally excited DF molecules produced by F+D$_2$ cold reaction through supersonic diffusion mixing in an optical cavity. F atoms are produced in a combustor by F$_2$+ H$_2$ reaction and injected into the cavity through a supersonic nozzle. The optimal chemical efficiency was measured to be 5.12% and specific power to be 96.5 J/g.
