The laboratorv model test was carried out to investigate the behavior of pore water pressure, the critical amount of rainfall for slope failure, the pattern of failure, and the variation of seepage line at the slope with the uniform material of embankment by changing the slope angles and rainfall intensities. The results were was summarised as follows : 1.At the beginning stage of rainfall, the negative pore pressure appeared at the surface of slope and the positive pore pressure at the deep parts. But, the negative one turned into the positive one as the rainfall continued and this rapidly increased about 50 to 100 minutes before the slope failure. 2.The heavier the rainfall intensity, the shorter the time, and the milder the slope, the longer the time took to reach the failure of slope. 3.As the angle of the slope became milder, the critical amount of rainfall for slope failure became greater. 4.Maximum pore water pressure was 10 to 40g/cm$^2$ at the toe of slope and 50 to 90g/cm$^2$at the deep parts. 5.In the respect of the pattern of slope failure, surface failure of slope occurred locally at the toe of slope at the A-soil and failure of slope by surface flow occurred gradually at the top part of slope at the B-soil. 6.As the rainfall continued and the saturation zone in the embankment was formed, the seepage line went rapidly up and also the time to reach the total collapse of slope took longer at the B-soil. 7.As the position of the seepage line went up and the strength parameter accordingly down, the safety factor was 2.108 at the A-soil and 2.150 at the B-soil when the slope occured toe failure. Minimum safety factor was rapidly down to 0.831 at the A-soil and to 0.936 at the B-soil when the slope collapsed totally at the top part of slope.
Slope displacement and factor of safety (FOS) of a slope are two aspects that reflect the stability of a slope. However, the traditional limit equilibrium (LE) methods only give the result of the slope FOS and cannot be used to solve for the slope displacement. Therefore, developing a LE method to obtain the results of the slope FOS and slope displacement has significance for engineering applications. Based on a force-displacement coupled mode, this work expands the LE Morgenstern-Price (M-P) method. Except for the mechanical equilibrium conditions of a sliding body adopted in the traditional M-P method, the present method introduces a nonlinear model of the shear stress and shear displacement. Moreover, the energy equation satisfied by a sliding body under a small slope displacement is also applied. Therefore, the double solutions of the slope FOS and horizontal slope displacement are established. Furthermore, the flow chart for the expanded LE M-P method is given. By comparisons and analyses of slope examples, the present method has close results with previous research and numerical simulation methods, thus verifying the feasibility of the present method. Thereafter, from the parametric analysis, the following conclusions are obtained: (1) the shear displacement parameters of the soil affect the horizontal slope displacement but have little effect on the slope FOS; and (2) the curves of the horizontal slope displacement vs. the minimum slope FOS could be fitted by a hyperbolic model, which would be beneficial to obtain the horizontal slope displacement for the slope in the critical state.

Always slope according to construct road exist danger because of environment unstability factor in slope, Since this research an inclination of slope is gentle slope (1:1.5∼1:9.0) but falling happened by conduct of continuous ground movement. And this study considered more economical and efficient reinforcement method for slope stability. The various reinforcement methods are applied to execute examination of slope stability. Applied reinforcement methods satisfied safety factor And this research region is performing continuous measurement about ground movements and displacements.

Rock slope had been slope failure due to geological and physical things over time. In this paper, it discusses rock slope stability analysis which was concerned about additional slope failure located near the Andong-si. Initially, achieved basic geological investigation and field test about rock slope, examine the stability of rock slope by doing limit equilibrium method and stereographic projection about 5 slopes.
The effect of heavy construction equipment on the excavated slope is investigated by slope stability analysis. A mobile crane with 500 kN capacity is applied as a working load to the background surface of the excavated slope, in both sandy soil and clay, designed to guarantee the safety of slope stability. Major parameters such as the distance between the edge of the slope and the mobile crane, groundwater level, and ground plate size of the mobile crane are considered. Only 23.8% and 14.3% of the analysis models with sandy soil and clay excavated slope, respectively, satisfied the slope stability. By changing the slope of the sandy soil from 1:1.0 to 1:1.2, the number of analysis models securing slope stability increased from 23.8% to 40.5%. For the clay excavated slope, the analysis models securing slope stability increased from 14.3% to 42.9% by changing slope inclination from 1:0.8 to 1:1.2. In addition, it is found that the increase in the size of the ground plate of the mobile crane increases the analysis models that secure slope stability. Therefore, it is an effective way to relax the excavated slope's inclination angle and simultaneously increase the ground plate size to guarantee stability.

In this study, a parametric investigation is performed using CFD for towing stability and loads according to the forward and aft slope angles of a barge-shaped FPSO. The forward slope angle is considered in a range of 30-60° and the aft slope is examined in a range of 20-50°. As a result of a comparative study based on CFD towing simulations, it is found that the yaw motion is damped out and stabilized when the aft slope is more than 40° regardless of the forward slope angle. The vortex contours in the y-axis plane near the aft slope are analyzed and it is observed that the vortex developed at the bottom knuckle is bent upward along the aft slope when the aft slope is less than 40°, and completely fallen from the bottom knuckle when the aft slope is more than 40°. Based on the results, a guide to forward and aft slope angles of a barge-shaped FPSO is presented from a practical point of view considering towing stability as well as towing load.
The mechanical and physical properties of wood are strongly dependent upon the slope of grain. Specially, tensile strength is more severely affected by the slope of grain. Therefore, tension tests were performed on small thin wood samples made from Pinus radiata with varying the slope of grain. Determining the tensile strength for clear thin wood samples the other variabilities associated with material, size, drying, defects, etc were discarded. Slope of grain was measured by the slope of grain indicator and actual slope of grain was also determined by a protractor. Correlation coefficients between machine measured and actual slope of grain for 40 pieces of 2×20 mm, 300 mm long Pinus radiata were 0.84 for wide face measurement. Results also showed that tensile strength and MOE from stress wave tests decreased with increasing the slope of grain. This study did not establish a relationships for tensile strength and MOE from stress wave with slope of grain. However, the trends of MOEs from stress wave test with both slope of grain are agreed well with Hankinson's equation. Predicted tension strength curve by Hankinson's equation was also agreed well with the experimental data over the range from 0 to 13 degrees for slope of grain.
This study aims to discuss pitch slope on Korean intonation curve in spontaneous speech data. For this study, 656 utterances were taken in the spoken corpus and used 'close-copy stylization'. And then the physical feature of pitch movements was extracted for the study. The pitch slope was calculated on the basis of time and pitch range in each utterance. As a result, the average and distribution of pitch slope is similar between men and women in the range of the pitch movement except for essential differences. The slope of pitch movement confirms that there are no differences between men and women. Pitch slope on a scale of -10 to 10 is 90% of the entire pitch slope; pitch slope that moves by time scale without curve is 33.1%; pitch slope that moves half of the pitch bandwidth during the average time for pitch movement is 23.4%; pitch slope that moves 100% of pitch bandwidth during a half of the average time for pitch movement is 10.4%. Those results imply the possibility of standardization methods of Korean intonation by pitch slope.

Hader and Park (1978) introduced the idea of slope rotatability, and Park (1987) introduced the concept of slope rotatability over all directions, and gave necessary and sufficient conditions. Park and Kim (1992) proposed a measure that represent the extent of slope rotatability for a given response surface design. Kim (1993) proposed a measure that represent the extent of slope rotatavility over all directions. In this paper, we embodied the measure of slope rotatability over all directions. Examples of applying this measure to some response surface designs are also given. In this response surface design of slope rotatavility over all directions, we obtain the mean slope variances on the spherical surface to select better experimental design varying the number of center points and radius.

The purpose of this study was to discover the landscape visual image of the slope scene and their harmony with surrounding sceneries. This research utilized the basic study tool of psycho-physics and processed the case study of ten types of slope construction scene along the highway. The analysis was performed by the data obtained from the questionnaires and the photos for the slope construction scene. The questionnaires for analysis the image of the slope construction scene and their harmony with surrounding sceneries were designed using semantic differential scale and 5 point Likert-scale. The major findings were as follows. 1. At the part of the visual preferences analysis, the slope revegetation methods showed high level of preferences generally than on the slope structure methods. While the slope revegetation methods were estimated friendly, continuity, harmonious, soft, light and wide, the slope revegetation methods were estimated unstable, female, static, simple, omnipresent, appeared as policeman of weak inclination. Also the slope structure methods were estimated stable, manly, complicated, steep and healthy but rough, unharmonious, unfamiliar and heavy. 2. Psychological factors, related to the satisfaction for the slope revegetation methods were composed of three factors, aesthetic, individuality and physical character. And the slope structure methods were composed of five factors, aesthetic, individuality, stability, physical character, and complexity. 3. At the part of harmony with surrounding landscapes, the slope revegetation methods were evaluated highly but the slope structure methods received the lowest evaluation. Also the harmony analysis with surrounding view on the slope revegetation methods showed degree of high more than average in all texture, form, color and scale but the slope structure methods showed degree of fewer than average degree in form, scale, color and texture.
