  • This paper treats the problem to schedule for train with low transit priority so as to maximizing the number that can be sent during given time without interfering with the fixed schedule for train with high transit priority in a track. We transform the this problem into Time-Expanded Network without traverse time through application of Ford-Fulkerson Model, develop a TENET GENerator(TENETGEN) and obtain the data of TENET using developed TENETGEN. Finally, we seek the optimal solution to these data with Dinic's Maximal-Flow Algorithm and examine the availability of our procedures in personal computer.

  • In this paper, we have developed a PCM signal analysis system which can analyze status of signals sent from/received to the TDX-families PCM signaling service equipment. We propose the modified DFT to analyze the status of an acquired CM signal, discuss the algorithm and the discrimination of the analyzed signal.

  • Up to the present information processing has been studied in the field of radar and electrical communication. However, recently photographic images have been sent and received a laser communication system. This paper is an attempt to discuss a method of information transmittance accomplished by holography. The results of experiment show that two-dimensional photographic images at the output appear with spots and when the degree of intensity of the images produced reach a frequency plane to move towards 40-60.mu., they show a finer effect.

  • Rails are produced by several rolling processes. These processes play an important role on the performance of rails. We analysed the rolling processes by finite element code, DEFORM. The distributions of temperatures and effective strains are obtained. After the rolling processes, the rails are sent to the cooling bed. During the cooling, the rails are bended and twisted. These bending and twisting should be minimized to produce a high quality rail. The analyses of cooling processes and residual stresses produced through the rolling processes will be Presented in the next paper.

  • PVM provides users with a single image of high performance parallel computing machine by collecting machines distributed over a network. Low communication overhead is essential to effectively run applications on PVM based platforms. In the original PVM, three times of memory copies are required for a PVM task to send a message to a remote task, which results in performance degradation. We propose a zero-copy model using global shared memory that can be accessed by PVM tasks, PVM daemon, and network interface card(NIC). In the scheme, a task packs data into global shared memory, and notify daemon that the data is ready to be sent, then daemon routes the data to a remote task to which it is sent with no virtual data copy overhead. Experimental result reveals that the message round trip time between two machines is reduced significantly in the proposed zero-copy scheme.

  • Objective: The goal of this study is to design a creative tutoring service, which helps children gain confidence and creativity through learning activities. Background: Nowadays most kids are growing up in a very competitive environment under their parents' zeal for education. A stressful environment can deter a child from the confident undertaking of challenges, leading to depression, anxiety, and feelings of inadequacy. Art therapy helps children work through these issues, however the process led by instructors or parents, and kids still feel anxious studying adults' face to read their thought. Method: To help children address challenges, a creative tutoring service application can provide images with certain tasks instead of asking them to fill in blank areas. The tasks asked by the service system are 1) to visualize children's own experience utilizing visually associated images from given images and 2) to create an illustrated story modifying and re-composing given images. Another task is to learn basic math and words with numbers and alphabets in customized colors. By completing each task children collect awards, which allow them graduate to higher levels of challenges. The outcomes from the tasks are sent to the main server system and reviewed by analysts. Those results are sent to children's parents as a text message on smart phone. Results: Visual implication using images inspires children to make creative stories based on their own experience. Also, children can find their own patterns of reaching answers by using synaesthetic imagery through repetitive practices of creative thinking tasks. Conclusion: Understanding how they feel about doing tasks in certain environments and assessing them in varied situations should be carefully considered when designers approach service design for kids. By focusing on how to tutor children in creative ways, as opposed to focusing on the expected outcome, creative service applications can be designed to reduce children's stress and encourage self expression. Children are predicted to gain confidence through using the service without the concern of comparison by others. Application: The creative tutoring service needs to be developed and tested by varying types of children.

  • This research surveyed, from 17 March 2008 to 25 March 2008, 261 students, 1,2,3 grade, who study in the a dental laboratory technology of college placed in Suwon. We sent them out each three questionnaire and surveyed their family and friends including themselves. We got back 584 paper out of 783 paper which we sent out and used as data of analysis. When choosing a dental clinic, we used a Pearson Correlation to understand a relation of variables connected with a medical service. The result showed that every each fields have a positive correlation and especially a correlation between a physical environment and an ability of dentist is showed most highly and a correlation between a basic element of clinic and a traffic convenience is showed a meaningful positive in that order.

  • Purpose: The present study attempted to find subjective musculoskeletal symptoms of operating room nurses (OR nurses) and then to use them as basic data for prevention and management of musculoskeletal symptoms of OR nurses. Method: This study was an exploratory research, and data were collected from OR nurses working in 8 polyclinics in Korea from July 26 to August 19, 2004, using a self-report questionnaire. The questionnaire contains items concerned with subjective musculoskeletal symptoms include ones with the presence of symptoms and with the degree of discomfort, in the joints such as neck, shoulder, arm/elbow, hand/wrist/finger and waist. For data collection, the aim of the study was explained to the operating room managers to obtain their help, and these questionnaires were sent to hospitals, and were retrieved by post. 271(90.3%) questionnaires were returned among those sent to 300 nurses. 249 questionnaires excluding 22 insufficient ones such as no response were used for data analysis. Data were analyzed using SPSS WIN 12.0. Subjective musculoskeletal symptoms were analyzed in the number and percentage. Result: 187(75.1%) nurses said they 'had' subjective musculoskeletal symptoms and 62 (24.9%) said they had 'nothing'. 130(52.2%), 125 (50.2%), 113 (45.4%), 86(34.5%), and 42 (16.9%) nurses had subjective musculoskeletal symptoms in waist, shoulder, hand/wrist/finger, neck, and arm/elbow, respectively. 51(27.3%) and 136 (72.7%) nurses complained of the pain in one site, and in two or more sites, respectively. In particular, 51% and 47.4% nurses said that they were 'discomforted' due to the pain in waist and in shoulder, respectively. Conclusion: Subjective musculoskeletal symptoms which OR nurses complained of were significant. This may cause difficulty in nursing tasks in the operating room. So various arrangements have to be made for OR nurse with subjective musculoskeletal symptoms at an early stage.

  • Korean government have supported the foreign internship system for plant industry to bring up the professional personnel for this industry. The Korea Plant Industry Association(KOPIA) has sent 400 interns each year to the foreign plant construction field since 2009. The purpose of this study is to analyze this foreign internship system in quantitative aspects and to suggest the several improvements on this system. In 2010, 402 interns, which exeeds the primary object 400, were sent to the foreign field and this study analyzed the 2010 results by monthly, by major of participating interns, and by the business type of participating company. Finally, this study suggests several improvements for this internship system as follows : 1) the enlargement of the internship system into employement, 2) the need for the public relations(PR) of this systems, 3) the establishment of cooperating network among participating universities, and 4) the enforcement of network among participating company, KOPIA, and paricipating interns.
