Design and Implementation of the Traffic and Travel Information Service for Terrestrial DMB System (T-DMB에서의 교통여행정보서비스 설계 및 구현)

  • DMB video/audio service was successfully launched. DMB data service is a matter of primary concern now. The TTI(Traffic and Travel Information) service is considered as a killer application of the data service. Tn this paper, we propose a method for design and implementation of the broadcasting system for TTI service. The proposed TTI service system consists of an authoring tool, the DB module, the Transmission module and Monitoring module. This system satisfies the national TTA standards of the Traffic and Travel Information data services for terrestrial DMB; TPEG(Transport Protocol Experts Group) platform. The system was designed to support real-time automatic transmission for CTT and CTT SUM, and non real-time authoring & automatic transmission for POI and SDI, and was focused on the capability to make high-quality contents efficiently and to send them to the data inserter reliably. The performance of the implemented system was proven through the conformance tests with the various commercial receivers. After the continuous upgrade, the system is being used in commercial service.

A Study on the Analysis of Websites Contents in Medical Libraries (의학도서관 웹사이트의 콘텐츠 분석에 관한 연구)

  • This study examines the status of websites operation among libraries affiliated to the Korean Medical Library Association, compares and analyzes website menu organization and information service contents of 29 medical libraries that currently run websites. The followings are results of this study. 1) the main menu of medical library websites is arranged with 'Search for Library Materials, Electronic Resources, Library Service, My Library, Library Guide, and the Bulletin Board.' 2) 15 services were selected as the main information service provided from the medical library website. 3) the information service that was provided from the most institutions was 'Document Copy/ Interlibrary Loan,' followed by 'Loan Reservation/Renewal, Request Library Purchase Book, Off-campus Access, User Education, Reference Resources, Q&A Board, Our Library Pubmed, and Dissertation Submission' in this order.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the basic data for providing library information services of high quality with clients, by designing the model of MyCyberLibrary and evaluating it. The model of MyCyberLibrary was constructed based on the survey results on the information-seeking behavior of users and on the review of the existing mylibraries'functions. The model is implemented into the prototype system which consists of nine modules. Finally, we evaluated the proposed system via mail questionnaires, and proposed three suggestions to make this system a much more comprehensive and effective one.

An Analysis of the Applicable Fields of UDC (UDC의 적용분야에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate historical backgrounds, maintenance, revision and application areas of UDC(Universal Decimal Classification) in order to understand current issues of it systematically. Since 1905, n has been extensively developed and is now administered by UDC Consortium(UDCC). UDCC updates MRF(Master Reference File), an electronic form of the UDC schedules, once a year. UDC updates and publishes standard edition extended edition, and abridged edition according to the degrees of notion abridgement, and is available on the web. UDC can be now applicable to collection arrangement, SDI(Selective Dissemination of Information) service, searching subject bibliographies, switching language or subject gateway and metadata on the Internet, and automatic classification.

  • This study proposes the utilization of a model registry to secure interoperability among urban domain information models. It reviews urban information and data sharing along with related standards and standardization activities. By analyzing registry use cases in the context of Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI), it presents the concept of a model registry for facilitating information sharing and exchange among urban domain information models. An use case linking urban domain information models using the model registry is developed with a prerequisite of seamless implementation of smart city services. The paper discusses technical requirements and outlines technology implementation and validation through prototype development, highlighting them as future research tasks.

  • 인터넷의 폭발적인 팽창에 따른 부작용들을 근본적으로 해소하고자 2000년대 후반부터 시작된 미래인터넷(Future Internet)에 관한 연구들이 최근까지 지속적으로 진행 중이다. 또한 새롭게 대두된 융합형(convergent) ICT 자원구성에 맞춘 지속적인 사용자 주도의 인프라 혁신 전략에 기반하여, SDN/NFV/Cloud 통합으로 형성하는 소프트웨어-정의 인프라(Software-Defined Infrastructure: SDI)를 개방형으로 구축하는 흐름이 있다. 즉 구축/운용의 중심이 하드웨어에서 소프트웨어 중심으로 최근 급속하게 전환되는 큰 변화가 ICT 인프라차원에서 본격화하고 있다. 즉 지금까지 논의되었던 여러 미래 인터넷 이슈들을 스마트한 초연결과 사용자 중심 서비스의 관점에서 바라보면서 미래형 ICT 인프라의 바람직한 구축을 서서히 가시화하고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 초연결에 기반하여 값싸고 신속하게 서비스를 실증하기 위해 DevOps(Developers & Operators: 개발/운영 병행체제) 방법론으로 소프트웨어-정의 인프라로 체질을 바꿔가는 개방형 혁신을 살펴본다.

A Study on the Current Situations of Knowledge Management Systems Introduction in Korean University Libraries (우리 나라 대학도서관의 지식관리시스템 도입현황에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to present the factors needed to introduce knowledge management systems to university libraries in Korea, to suggest various methods needed to offer much more improved services of a library than now by investigating the current situations about introducing such factors in national and pubic university libraries in Korea. Almost all of the 33 university libraries selected the subject of investigation have offered the on-line reference service, e-mail pushing service, and full text constructions out of the 11 knowledge management system elements presented in this study, but the other services else have been offered by less than half the number of the libraries. The findings suggest to greatly improve the current services of libraries such as information education and selective dissemination of information, and immediately to introduce new systems including e-book and wireless service systems in order to the university competitiveness. The study implies that each library has already introduced the knowledge management systems, in proportion to a budget of the library, ifs librarian number, and a degree restructuring organization, and that an introduction of knowledge management systems such as policy and culture of organization, its librarian number, and its related security of budget takes the most important role in improving services of a library.

  • In the knowledge society the main resource is knowledge, and the role of library to manage knowledge and information is very important. Therefore it is necessary to knowledge and information management that provides on demand service to user. The purpose of this research is to design model for web-based help-desk knowledge management system. This study used Qualitative methods as interviews and surveys through BBS and e-mail on information service in the university libraries. Here the investigated component factors are followings Q/A service user's education service to use the library, user's online reference service, e-mail service, FAQ service electronic service(BBS), lecture and research service for faculty, my library, SDI service, and open data service.   • As the real time multimedia data service has become available due to the rapid progress of computer and Internet technology, the users can enjoy the newly developed service, which is called Video On-Dem-and(VOD). However, most of service providers have not paid their attention much on the software for various service modes on VOD, but they are only concentrating un the hardware to provide with the high resolution video display. Therefore, the service providers are recently to pay more attention on the software to cope with the various demands of users than hardware. So this paper has designed and implemented the VOD service system for those demands. Since the VOD service system suggested by this paper enable off-line search functions through E-mail, the users can possibly get the necessary information from off-line Search without connecting to the server while the current VOD service can prominently help users to save the time and effort to sea고 and select the Video contents by using periodical current awareness service supported by PUSH technology and user oriented information booking and feedback service supported by SDI service.

  • 최근 인터넷상에는 매일 방대한 양의 정보가 창출되어 유포되고 있으며, 수많은 정보 제공 사이트들이 늘고 있다. 이용자들은 필요한 정보를 찾고 활용하기 위해 야후(Yahoo), 알타비스타(AltaVista) 등 국외 검색엔진(search engine)들과 심마니, 미스 다찾니 등 국내 검색엔진 등 인터넷상에 운용되고 있는 이들 시스템들을 이용하고 있지만, 대부분의 시스템들은 자체 정보 제공보다는 로봇 에이전트를 이용하여 인터넷 사이트에 등록되어 있는 다양한 분야의 홈페이지 정보들을 수집/분석하여 관련 사이트를 연결해주는 방식의 메타 검색엔진들로서 불필요한 정보들까지 제공함에 따라 이용자들이 필요로 하는 정보를 찾기에는 너무 많은 노력과 시간을 소모하게 되는 문제점을 안고 있다. 이에 본 고에서는 형태소 분석 및 시소러스 사전을 이용하여 검색의 정확성 및 재현율 향상을 고려하고, 주제어 중심의 불리언 검색뿐만 아니라 하이퍼텍스트 기반의 주제어 카탈로그 검색, 각기 다른 사이트의 검색엔진들로부터 질의한 결과를 통합하여 제공하는 지능형 통합검색, 이용자 프로파일에 근거하여 최신 업데이트된 정보를 주기적으로 제공해주는 맞춤정보서비스(Selective Dissemination of Information Service: SDI) 등을 통합한 인터넷 기반의 한글 정보검색시스템의 구현에 대한 내용을 기술하고자 한다.
