On Designing a Control System Using Dynamic Multidimensional Wavelet Neural Network (동적 다차원 웨이브릿 신경망을 이용한 제어 시스템 설계)

  • In this paper, new neural network called dynamic multidimensional wavelet neural network (DMWNN) is proposed. The resulting network from wavelet theory provides a unique and efficient representation of the given function. Also the proposed DMWNN have ability to store information for later use. Therefore it can represent dynamic mapping and decreases the dimension of the inputs needed for network. This feature of DMWNN can compensate for the weakness of diagonal recurrent neural network(DRNN) and feedforward wavelet neural network(FWNN). The efficacy of this type of network is demonstrated through experimental results.

  • In this paper, the multiplicative algorithm of two polynomals over finite field GF(2$^{m}$ ) is presented. The proposed algorithm permits an efficient realization of the parallel multiplication using iterative arrays. At the same time, it permits high-speed operation. This multiplier is consisted of three operation unit: multiplicative operation unit, the modular operation unit, the primitive irreducible operation unit. The multiplicative operation unit is composed of AND gate, X-OR gate and multiplexer. The modular operation unit is constructed by AND gate, X-OR gate. Also, an efficient pipeline form of the proposed multiplication scheme is introduced. All multipliers obtained have low circuit complexity permitting high-speed operation and interconnection of the cells are regular, well-suited for VLSI realization.

  • In this paper, an automatic extraction of the blood flow contour from cardiac MRI is proposed. By using the GVF snake which has wider capture range than the conventional snake, and by automatically generating the initial points along the outside of the contour of the zero GVF field in the edge image of the cardiac MRI, the blood flow contour can be automatically extracted, even when the contours have boundary concavities due to the papillary muscles, without any manual initialization of the experts. Experiments are conducted on the various real cardiac MRIs including noise and papillary muscles, and the proposed method is proved to be efficient in automatic extraction of the blood contours even if they have the boundary concavities.

  • In this paper, we investigate the performance improvement by applying flow control to LonWorks-based network systems which support various communication media together with interpretable class of systems. To this end, we introduce a circular queue at each node of industrial network systems usually operated in open loop. Then we utilize the feedback information of the number of data in a queue, the data arriving interval in a queue and channel error to make the overall industrial network system in closed loop. We verify the improved performance of the network systems in view of throughput and fairness measures via the experimental results conducted in several field situation.

  • In this paper, a multiagent fault-tolerant supervisory control methodology is proposed for serial production systems under partial observation. To this end, the idea of multiagent control is incorporated with the fault-tolerant supervisory control of discrete event systems. Especially, the concept of mutual fault-tolerance between cascaded processes is established and the unobservable fault identification utilizing the difference information of the controlled results is investigated. Then the synthesis of agent supervisors is formulated based on the proposed concept. A case study of the fault-propagation control of polypropylene prepolymerization and polymerization processes is provided to illustrate the proposed control policy.

  • 광굴절률 현상은 optical signal processing과 홀로그램 기억소자로 널리 응용 될 수 있기 때문에 지금까지 광범위하게 연구되어져 왔다. 광굴절률 현상에서 중요한 변수는 빛이 있는 동안 drift, diffusion 과 photovoltaic current와 같은 전하 운반 메카니즘을 통해서 local charge의 재분포에 따른 공간전하장(Space-charge field, $E_{sc}$ )이다. 지금까지 single beam에 의한 공간전하장을 측정하는 방법으로 birefringenc $e^{1.2}$ 와 interference metho $d^{3}$을 이용하여 굴절률 변화를 측정함으로써 얻을 수 있었다. 그러나 이런 방법들은 공간전하장의 변화를 측정하기위해서 전기광학계수를 측정하여 얻는 간접적인 방법이고 또한 실험방법도 다소 복잡하다. 따라서 본 투고에서는 이미 발표된 광굴절률 현상시 제 2 고조파 세기(SHG)의 변화로부터 공간전하장을 간단하게 측정하는 방법을 이용하여 congruent, MgO가 4mole%, F $e_2$O가 0.1mole% 첨가된 LiNb $O_3$ 단결정의 공간전하장에 대해서 연구를 하였다. 이 방법은 전기광학물질인 LiNb $O_3$에서 SHG 위상정합조건이 dc 전기장에 의존하는 성질을 이용한 것이다. 그리고 온도가 일정할 경우 전기장의 변화에 따라 SHG의 크기가 변함을 이용하였다.   • Supramolecules containing double hydrogen bonding sites at their both chain ends were self-polymerized to become solid state polymer and were utilized to improve the efficiency of solid state DSSCs. Hydrogen bonding sites were attached at the chain ends of PEG of Mw=2000, such as pyrimethamine and glutaric acid. The solar cell with the solid state supramolecular polymer electrolyte resulted in the overall energy conversion efficiency of 4.63 % with a short circuit current density $(J_{sc})$ of 10.41 $mAcm^{-2}$, an open circuit voltage $V_{oc}$, of 0.71 V and a fill factor (FF) of 0.62 at one sun condition ([oligomer]:[1-methyl-3-propyl imidazolium iodide (MPII)]:$[I_2]$ = 20 : 1 : 0.19, active area = 0.16 $cm^2$, $TiO_2$ layer thickness = 10 ${\mu}m$). The ionic conductivity of the sol id state electrolyte was $5.11{\times}10^{-4}$ (S/cm). The cell performance was characterized by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and ionic conductivity.

  • 1.5 kA class HTS current leads for a SMES magnet, which are connected to a conventional vapor cooled copper leads, were designed. The HTS leads are composed of Bi-2223/Ag-Au tapes and a stainless stell tube. The estimated critical current of the lead is about 1.6 kA at 77.3 K and in a self magnetic field, and the heat input to the liquid helium from the cold end of the 35 cm lead is 0.4 W/lead. It has been made clear that the heat input decreases with increase of the lead length and decrease of the warm end temperature and Ag-Au/SC ratio.

  • The properties for self-frequency doubling (SFD) is unique phenomena for a small number of special single crystals. It is known that there are serious limitations to vary the concentration of active ions, for example high doping of active ions from 1 to 50 atomic %, in nonlinear materials. Until now, the Nd:YAl$_3$(BO$_3$)$_4$ (YAB) and Nd:(Ce,Gd)Sc$_3$(BO$_3$)$_4$ (CSB) crystals with high doping rates are well studied for the application of SFD purpose. They have much useful SFD properties, but also have big problems in crystal growth. In case of YAB crystal, it can be grown by solution melt method with very low growth rates and easy occurrence of inclusions. In case of CSB crystal, it has optically heterogeneity problems because of disarrangement of ions in huntite structure [1]. These problems make above crystals not so attractive for optical applications. Some popular nonlinear materials, such as LiNbO$_3$(LN), KTiOPO$_4$(KTP), LiB$_3$O$_{5}$ (LBO) crystals, are impossible to substitute by Rare Earth activators because of their crystallo-chemical problems of structure. When we dope active ions with the requisite concentrations for laser generation, it results in decreasing of optical quality of crystals or destroying of acentrosymmetric structure. (omitted)d)

Heat Transfer Correlation to Predict the Evaporation of a Water Droplet in Superheated Steam during Reflood Phase of a LOCA

  • A heat transfer correlation to predict the vaporization of a water droplet in highly superheated steam during a loss-of-coolant accident(LOCA) of a nuclear power plant is provided. Vaporization of liquid fuel or water droplets in superheated air or steam and subsequent interface heat transfer between a liquid droplet and superheated gas is typically correlated by way of a Nusselt number as a function of Reynolds number, Prantl number, and in some cases including mass transfer number. Presently available correlations and experimental data of the evaporation of liquid droplets in air or steam are analyzed and a new Nusselt number correlation is proposed taking Schmidt number into consideration in order to account for binary diffusion of the vapor as well, Nu$\_$f/(1+B)$\^$0.7/=2+0.53Sc$\_$f/$\^$-1/5/Re$\_$M/$\^$$\sfrac{1}{2}$/Pr$\_$f/$\^$$\sfrac{1}{3}$/ for which properties are evaluated at film condition except the density of Reynolds number evaluated at ambient condition. Diverse correlations for various combinations of liquid and gas species are put into single equation. The blowing correction factor of (1+B)$\^$0.7/ is confirmed appropriate, and a criterion to distinguish so-called high- and low-temperature condition of ambient gas is set forth.
