For effective water quality management, it is necessary to secure reliable water quality information. There are many variables that need to be included in a comprehensive practical monitoring network : representative sampling locations, suitable sampling frequencies, water quality variable selection, and budgetary and logistical constraints are examples, especially sampling location is considered to be the most important issues. Until now, monitoring network design for water quality management was set according to the qualitative judgments, which is a problem of representativeness. In this paper, we propose network design system for optimal water quality monitoring using the scientific statistical techniques. Network design system is made based on the SAS program of version 9.2 and configured with simple input system and user friendly outputs considering the convenience of users. It applies to Excel data format for ease to use and all data of sampling location is distinguished to sheet base. In this system, time plots, dendrogram, and scatter plots are shown as follows: Time plots of water quality variables are graphed for identifying variables to classify sampling locations significantly. Similarities of sampling locations are calculated using euclidean distances of principal component variables and dimension coordinate of multidimensional scaling method are calculated and dendrogram by clustering analysis is represented and used for users to choose an appropriate number of clusters. Scatter plots of principle component variables are shown for clustering information with sampling locations and representative location.
The statistical modeling was introduced to satisfy various experimental conditions on the sorption of heavy metals (Pb, Cu, Cd, and Zn) by clay minerals, i.e. kaolinite, illite and chlorite. The Box-Behnken model designed statistically was applied to determine a relative impact among three variables such as pH, HCO3(or K) concentration and initial concentration of heavy metals. The SAS program was used to obtain the statistical solution by surface response analysis. The results of a statistical sorption modelling indicated that pH is a strong impact of the variables influencing the sorption of heavy metals. A relative effect between an initial concentration of heavy metals and bicarbonate(or K) concentration is dependent on solution condition. The sorption edge of heavy metals as function of pH shows sigmoidal curve, and a great increase in the range of pH 6~8. The sorption sequence among heavy metals is Cu>Pb>>Zn>Cd. The solution chemistry exerts greater influence on the sorption of heavy metals rather than the crystal chemistry of clay minerals. The potassium exerts some effect into a sorption competition with heavy metals. The research suggests that the statistical modeling is an effective method to demonstrate sorption results in three dimension and to reduce the effort of batch sorption experiment.
This study investigated the specific effects of dance themed movies on dance students in their passion for dance and affect. The related data is generated by choosing a method of Convenience Sampling and used a sample of 112 dance students in high school of arts which located in Seongnam-si, South Korea. The dance students divided into 3 group of school year and also 2 group of gender. The dance themed movies which are used in this research are First Position, Billy Elliot and Mao's Last Dancer. Also, the dance students were asked to answer the survey which are based on the Self-administration. In order to obtain several findings below, Frequency analysis, Exploratory factor analysis, Reliability analysis, t-test, ANOVA, Correlation analysis and Linear structural relation model were applied to the gathered data using statistics utility SAS 9.4. First, there was a significant difference between the school years in the passion for dance and affect of students after watching movies. Second, there was a significant difference in students' affect depended on their majors (dance major is divided into three specialized major which are ballet, korean dance and modern dance). Third, there was a significant difference in the passion for dance and students' affect which is irreverent to their dance career (such as years they have learned dance). Forth, there was a significant difference in the passion for dance and negative affect of 'dance' students after watching movies. To summarize, the findings demonstrate that there is a partial difference, specially significant effects on their negative affect in the dance passion and affect of dance students depended on their characteristics after watching dance themed movies.

The retraction of anterior teeth could be performed more easier by inducing of skeletal anchorage system rather than by conventional method on orthodontic treatment. But, we wonder how effective the system draws well without anchorage loss and draws anterior teeth aside posteriorly, and if the system can reduce the time, in comparison with the anchorage of posterior teeth. For that reason we have studied on the subject of patients, who were required the maximum anchorage on orthodontic treatment and the cases without crowding. The subjects of the experimental group are 35 areas of 20 people who were inserted miniscrews after Mx or Mn 1st premolar extracted. Also, the subjects of the control group are 81 areas of 45 people who were not inserted miniscrews. Compared the anchorage loss of experimental group with control one, we could get the result that the anchorage loss of experimental group is $1.034{\pm}0.891mm$ and control group is $2.790{\pm}1.882mm$(P<0.01). Compared the space closing time of experimental group with control one, we could get the result that the space closing time of experimental group is $369.40{\pm}110.81$days and control group is $406.56{\pm}231.63$days. But the result of comparing space closing time has no significance in statistics. We recognized that the experimental group is more faster than the control group in the canine retraction velocity from the result ; the speed of a experimental group has as much as $0.60{\pm}0.23mm/30days$ while the speed of a control group has $0.44{\pm}0.35mm/30days$(P<0.05). So, we could convince that orthodontic miniscrew is used effectively in the cases required the maximum anchorage.
Citrus fruits are consumed worldwide due to their unique flavor and nutrition value. It is necessary to remove the haze material as well as to minimize the loss of major compounds such as organic acids, sugars, and ascorbic acid in membrane processes for clarification of juice. The objective of our research was to select the best membrane among one surface filter (Whatman No.4) and five microfiltration filters (GF/A, GF/D, GF/F, Gelman, and SM). Tangerine fresh blended with three times of water was partially clarified with 170 mesh followed by prefiltration in a Samduck filtration system. The best membrane was selected by measuring the amounts of major compounds in the permeates as well as the flux which were statistically analyzed with SAS program. The foulants on the membrane surface were observed by SEM. The flux of GF/A and GF/F decreased with time at probability 0.10. Gelman, SM, and GF/D maintained the stable flux. Gelman showed the highest total scores including nutritive value (the amounts of citrate, malate, and ascorbic acid) and purchasing need (brix and color). Therefore, the microfiltration membrane process was a very effective method in tangerine juice clarification and Gelman type A/E was proved to be the best membrane among the five microfiltration membranes.
This single-blinded, nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest study was undertaken to evaluate the effectiveness of simulation education on clinical judgement, collaboration, communication skills, and perceived education practices and simulation design characteristics among student nurses in Korea. Participants were 47 students (19 in the experimental group and 28 in the control group) recruited by convenience sampling. The simulation based clinical reasoning education consisted of seven weekly, 120-minute high fidelity simulations. All participants completed the pretest and 7-week post measurements of a clinical judgment, collaboration, and communication skills with 4-week post measurement of collaboration, and participants in the experimental group provided a measurements of perceived education practices and simulation design characteristics. Data were analyzed using repeated measured ANOVA, and mixed linear model with SAS 9.2. Significant improvements were found in the experimental group for clinical judgment, collaboration, communication skill, and perceived education practices and simulation design characteristics. The study results show the impact of the perceived education practices and simulation design characteristics on facilitating the effectiveness of simulation education. The findings suggest a feasible and sound teaching method for student nurses and the need for further studies with a larger sample.
This study was conducted to develop an application software, SIDAS3D(Stand Inventory Data Analysis System for 3 Dimensional Representation), of which the purpose of development is to make it easier to analyze and display the 3D spatial structure of a forest stand, based on the data such as tree position, species, DBH, height, clear length of individual trees, and crown width. This program has a statistical analysis function for stand attributes per hectare and displays simple graphs of stand statistics such as the distribution of diameters, heights, and volumes. It also has two additional functions, of which one is to display the 3D image of stand structure and the other is to display the image of crown projection. In addition, this program provides an imaginary treatment simulation function, which can visually confirm the suitability of silvicultural treatments on computers. To test the precision and reliability of SIDAS3D, data obtained by the precision forest inventory method were used. Statistical analysis ability of SIDAS3D was compared with that of SAS. And its representational ability was compared with that of TreeDraw. According to the verification, SIDAS3D was superior to SAS and TreeDraw in both the data processing time and the interpretative ability of results. It was concluded that SIDAS3D could be used to help users efficiently make decisions for appropriate silvicultural treatments and rational management plans because it has analysis functions providing various valuable information.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of a peer evaluation method on the core fundamental nursing skills competency, learning attitude, critical thinking and self-leadership of graduating nursing students. A survey using a questionnaire was administered to 326 nursing students. The data was analyzed using SAS(ver. 9.8) and AMOS(ver.20.0) The results of peer evaluation showed that the fundamental nursing skills competency was 3.77(${\pm}.62$), the learning attitude was 3.17(${\pm}.47$), critical thinking was 3.44(${\pm}.41$) and self-leadership was 3.60(${\pm}.49$). Core fundamental nursing skills competency showed statistical differences based on gender, major satisfaction, practice satisfaction, pre-learning and satisfaction with the peer evaluation. Core fundamental nursing skills competency was positively correlated with learning attitude(r=.295, p<.001), critical thinking was positively correlated with core fundamental nursing skills competency(r=.384, p<.001) and learning attitude(r=.623, p<.001), and finally, self-leadership was positively correlated with core fundamental nursing skills competency(r=.353, p<.001), learning attitude(r=.529, p<.001) and critical thinking(r=.690, p<.001). The factors affecting fundamental nursing skills competency were critical thinking and self-leadership. Core fundamental practical education programs to improve learning attitude, critical thinking and self-leadership need to be developed to increase core fundamental nursing skills.
Dr. Youn-Sic Chun and coworkers invented the new machine for getting information about the relative effectiveness of the orthodontic appliances and we named it Calorific machine. The author and colleagues used this machine to compare with tooth moving mechanism by 3 types of the insertion method of precision-TPA for derotating the posterior teeth. We measured the distance of tooth movement and found out the rotational center on the occlusal X-ray film and the tooth movement on the occlusogram and then processed paired t-test by SAS program, The results were as follows : 1. In the intermolar width, the mesial insertion method showed the loss oi distance, and the other methods(-distal insertion method, mesial expansion method-) showed the increase of distance. 2. In the arch length, the distal insertion method was exhibited as most recommandable way for increasing the arch length .3. The rotation center of the mesial insertion method for derotating the molar, was located between mesial pit and central pit of the lower End molar. And, in the distal insertion method, it was located between distal pit and distolingual cusp, and in the mesial expansion method was located at distal pit.
