SiO2/styrene butadiene rubber-coated poly(ethylene terephthalate) nonwoven composite separators for safer lithium-ion batteries

  • We develop a new nonwoven composite separator for a safer lithium-ion battery, which is based on coating of silica ($SiO_2$) colloidal particles/styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) binder to a poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) nonwoven support. The $SiO_2$ particles are interconnected by the SBR binder and closely packed in the nonwoven composite separator, which thus allows for the development of unusual porous structure, i.e. highly-connected interstitial voids formed between the $SiO_2$ particles. The PET nonwoven serves as a mechanical support that contributes to suppressing thermal shrinkage of the nonwoven composite separator. The $SiO_2$/SBR content in the nonwoven composite separators plays an important role in determining their separator properties. Porous structure, air permeability, and electrolyte wettability of the nonwoven composite separators, in comparison to a commercialized polyethylene (PE) separator, are elucidated as a function of the $SiO_2$/SBR content. Based on this understanding of the nonwoven composite separators, the effect of $SiO_2$/SBR content on the electrochemical performances such as self-discharge, discharge capacity, and discharge C-rate capability of cells assembled with the nonwoven composite separators is investigated.

블루투스 암호화 모듈의 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of a Bluetooth Encryption Module)

  • 본 논문에서는 블루투스 장비 간 암호화를 위해 사용되는 암호화 모듈의 설계 및 구현에 관한 내용을 다룬다. 암호화 모듈은 기저 대역내에 암호화 키 생성 모듈과 암호화 엔진 모듈로 구성된다. 암호화 키 생성 모듈은 Cylink사에서 제안한 공개 도메인인 SAFER+(Secure And Fast Encryption Routine) 알고리즘을 사용하여 128bit 키를 생성한다. 그 구성은 키 치환을 위한 치환 함수(key-controlled substitution)와 선형 변환을 위한 PHT(Pseudo-Hadamard Transform)와 Armenian Shuffle 변환기로 구성된다. 암호화 엔진 모듈은 전송 패킷내의 페이로드 데이터와 생성된 사이퍼 키 스트림 데이터와 XOR연산을 통하려 암호화를 행하며 그 구성은 LFSR (Linear Feedback Shift Register)와 합 결합기로 구성된다. 이 중 암호화 키 생성 모듈은 LM(Link Manager)의 PDU(Protocol Data Unit) 패킷을 통해 상호 정보가 교환되므로 암호화키를 생성하는데 있어 시간적 제약이 덜 하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 변형된 SAFER+ 알고리즘 구현하는데 있어 치환 함수의 덧셈과 XOR, 로그, 지수연산을 바이트 단위의 순차 계산을 수행함으로써 소요되는 하드웨어 용량을 줄이도록 설계하였다. 본 논문에서 제시한 모듈은 블루투스 표준안 버전 1.1에 근거하여 구현하였으며 시뮬레이션 및 테스트는 Xilinx FPGA를 이용하여 검증하였다.

망원급수를 이용한 암호화 알고리즘 (A Cryptography Algorithm using Telescoping Series)

  • In Information Technology era, various amazing IT technologies, for example Big Data, are appearing and are available as the amount of information increase. The number of counselling for violation of personal data protection is also increasing every year that it amounts to over 160,000 in 2012. According to Korean Privacy Act, in the case of treating unique personal identification information, appropriate measures like encipherment should be taken. The technologies of encipherment are the most basic countermeasures for personal data invasion and the base elements in information technology. So various cryptography algorithms exist and are used for encipherment technology. Therefore studies on safer new cryptography algorithms are executed. Cryptography algorithms started from classical replacement enciphering and developed to computationally secure code to increase complexity. Nowadays, various mathematic theories such as 'factorization into prime factor', 'extracting square root', 'discrete lognormal distribution', 'elliptical interaction curve' are adapted to cryptography algorithms. RSA public key cryptography algorithm which was based on 'factorization into prime factor' is the most representative one. This paper suggests algorithm utilizing telescoping series as a safer cryptography algorithm which can maximize the complexity. Telescoping series is a type of infinite series which can generate various types of function for given value-the plain text. Among these generated functions, one can be selected as a original equation. Some part of this equation can be defined as a key. And then the original equation can be transformed into final equation by improving the complexity of original equation through the command of "FullSimplify" of "Mathematica" software.

수상 태양광 발전 시스템의 부유체 형상과 구성요소가 수력학적 안전성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of the floating body shape and other composition on the hydrodynamic safety of floating photo-voltaic system)

  • As the photo-voltaic (PV) industry grows, the floating PV has been suggested to resolve current environmental destruction and a lack of installation area. Currently, various floating PV systems have been developed, but there is a lack of studies on how the shape of the floating body and other compositions are affecting structural behavior. In this study, the behavior of the floating PV was investigated at the various length of mooring lines, stiffness of connecting hinges, and size of floating bodies. The shortest mooring lines with the distributed type floating PV showed the least force on the floating body and corresponding motion. A frictionless hinge is safer at the regular and low-height wave, while a stiff hinge is safer at irregular and high-height wave. In addition, due to the bi-axial distribution of the connecting hinge, 45° direction wave was found to be the most dangerous.

The Application of Auriculotherapy to the Treatment of Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis

  • Auriculotherapy has been extensively used for chronic spontaneous urticaria in China. However, the evidence of its effectiveness and safety for the treatment of chronic spontaneous urticaria is insufficient. Hence, we conducted this study to compare auriculotherapy or auriculotherapy joint treatment with Western medicine for the cure of chronic spontaneous urticaria. This meta-analysis of seven randomized controlled trials showed that auriculotherapy or auriculotherapy joint treatment was significantly superior to Western medicine in curing clinical signs and symptoms of chronic spontaneous urticaria [odds ration (OR), 2.61; 95% confidence interval (CI), 1.54-4.43; p = 0.0004) and also better in total effect rate (OR, 3.81; 95% CI, 2.07-7.01; p<0.0001). But, auriculotherapy or auriculotherapy joint treatment was similar to Western medicine in improving clinical signs and symptoms of chronic spontaneous urticaria (OR, 0.74; 95% CI, 0.35-1.56; p = 0.42). Auriculotherapy or auriculotherapy joint treatment was safer than Western medicine for curing chronic spontaneous urticaria (OR, 0.26; 95% CI, 0.09-0.80; p = 0.02). Auriculotherapy alone or auriculotherapy joint treatment appears to be more effective and safer than Western medicine that contains antihistamines in the treatment of chronic spontaneous urticaria. However, these findings should be interpreted with caution due to the unclear risk bias of methodological quality, and further studies with large-scale, better, and more rigorously designed protocol are necessary to prove these findings.

리스크정보 최적화를 통한 국내 연구용원자로의 안전성 향상 (Risk-Informed Optimization of Operation and Procedures for Korea Research Reactor)

  • This paper describes an attempt to improve and optimize the operational safety level of a domestic research reactor by conducting a probabilistic safety assessment (PSA) under full-power operating conditions. The PSA was undertaken to assess the level of safety at an operating research reactor in Korea, to evaluate whether it is probabilistically safe and reliable to operate, and to obtain insights regarding the requisite procedural and design improvements for achieving safer operation. The technical objectives were to use the PSA to identify the accident sequences leading to core damage, and to conduct sensitivity analyses based thereon to derive insights regarding potential design and procedural improvements. Based on the dominant accident sequences identified by the PSA, eight types of sensitivity analysis were performed, and relevant insights for achieving safer operation were derived. When these insights were applied to the reactor design and operating procedure, the risk was found to be reduced by approximately ten times, and the safety was significantly improved. The results demonstrate that the PSA methodology is very effective for improving reactor safety in the full-power operating phase. In particular, it is a highly suitable approach for identifying the deficiencies of a reactor operating at full power, and for improving the reactor safety by overcoming those deficiencies.

Risk and Responsibility: Understanding the Distribution of Serious Accident Punishment Act

  • Purpose: This paper investigates how companies respond to government regulations and disasters in a risk-managed society, and aims to initiate discussions on the future prospects and challenges. Specifically, it explores how companies can plan to respond to such disasters in the future, and stresses that the law should be to protect people's lives and ensure safety, rather than to punish companies. Research design, data and methodology: The study methodology is based on a review of existing literature, as well as trend analysis through big data analysis. The research analyzes the discourse in our society regarding the enactment of the Serious Accident Punishment Act. Results: This study supports that the Serious Accident Punishment Act should be implemented in a manner that does not impede corporate activities, but rather helps to ensure the safety of citizens' daily lives. The authors call for collaboration between communities, labor unions, and companies in achieving a cooperative governance system for a safer society. Conclusions: It highlights the importance of addressing disasters and government regulations in the context of a risk-managed society, and offers insights for both companies and policymakers on how to navigate these challenges. By prioritizing safety and cooperation, we can work towards building a safer and more resilient society

미니스크류 식립 각도 및 부위에 대한 3차원적 연구 (Three Dimensional Study of Miniscrew about Installation Area and Angle)

  • 교정치료에서 고정원의 조절은 치료목적을 달성하기 위한 중요한 고려사항이다. 최근 골에서 쉽게 지지를 얻을 수 있는 미니스크류가 개발되고 발전되어 많은 치료에서 사용되고 있는데, 이러한 미니스크류는 해부학적 구조물들의 손상을 최소화 하면서 안전하게 식립하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 이에 본 연구는 전산화단층촬영 사진을 이용하여 임상적으로 미니스크류를 흔하게 심는 부위이면서 초기 고정이 약한 상악 구치부 협측 부위의 안전성을 평가하고, 식립 각도에 따른 인접치아에 대한 손상가능성을 평가 하고자 하였다. 상악 구치부 협측에서 $1.2{\times}6.0mm$의 미니스크류를 식립하게 되면 일반적으로 CEJ에서 5~8mm 상방에 그리고 피질골 표면에서 3~5mm 내측에 미니스크류의 끝이 위치하게 된다. 이 경우 각 치근 사이의 면적을 측정하였다. 또한 식립각도를 30도, 45도, 60도로 나누어 식립 각도별 치근 사이의 길이를 측정하였다. 대구치와 대구치 사이, 대구치와 소구치 사이, 소구치와 소구치 사이의 3그룹으로 나누어 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1) 식립부위에 따른 비교에서 제1대구치와 제2대구치 사이에서 치간골의 면적이 유의하게 작았다. 2) 각도에 따른 비교에서 대구치 사이와 소구치와 대구치 사이에서는 더 기울여 식립 하는 것이 안전함을 보였으나, 소구치 사이에서는 식립 각도가 안전성에 크게 영향을 주지 못했다. 이상의 결과를 바탕으로 미니스크류를 식립 할 경우 대구치 사이보다는 대구치와 소구치 사이 또는 소구치 사이가 상대적으로 안전한 부위라는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 대구치 사이와 대구치와 소구치 사이에 식립 할 경우에는 식립 각도가 증가 할수록 안전하다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

  • The greenhouse control system is designed by personal computer. This system should observe and control the growth conditions for crops in both plastic film and glass greenhouses. In this contribution puts emphasis on graphical user interface for greenhouse control system by personal computer under the aim of creating safer, more effective and more economical services. This system is developed for the requirements of the intelligent greenhouse control system and gives a lot of convenience for farmer who is not familiar with pc technique. The GUI and control system are programmed by Visual C++ and Visual Basic.
