  • The Korean government makes an effort to raise the competitive power of nation through CM activation in the construction industry. Since the first CM service was applied to the atomic power plant project in 1986, the number of CM contracts are continuously being increased and will be up to 20% by 2002 in public sector. However, the public projects had been executed without any procedure manual or standard guideline of CM services. Meanwhile the Ministry of Construction and Transportation issued $\ulcorner$CM Service Guide$\lrcorner$, but the guide shows an indefinite description in the responsibility, authority and scope of activity for the project participants. Therefore, it is required the procedures be improved and scope of activities be established for the project participants. This study was generated from the comparative analysis of $\ulcorner$Standard CM Services and Practice$\lrcorner$ Published by CMAA and domestic $\ulcorner$CM Service Guide$\lrcorner$ and the case of Incheon International Airport construction. The purpose of this study is to provide the fundamental data for an improvement in the procedures of project execution and the construction manager's activities/rolls shown on $\ulcorner$CM Service Guide$\lrcorner$

  • The diffusion of the mobile telecommunication service in a country could be affected by the diffusions of the services in her neighbor countries. Previous studies on the diffusions of the telecommunication service among countries have been mainly focussed on the comparison after individual diffusion estimation. However, it would be natural to think the diffusion of the mobile telecommunication service in one country could affect to and be affected by the diffusion of the mobile telecommunication service in her neighbor country. In this study, we have applied the multinational diffusion model to model the crossnational effect in the diffusion of the mobile communication service in China, Korea, U.S., Japan, and Hong Kong. Among these 5 countries China is the latest country to adopt the mobile communication service, and we were interested in whether the diffusion of the mobile communication service in Korea, U.S., Japan, or Hong Kong has affected the diffusion of the mobile communication service in China or not. In our application result, the diffusion of the mobile communication service in China has been affected significantly by those in all of the 4 neighbor countries.

  • Due to the advancement of IPTV technologies, Mobile IPTV service is needed to be supported for service and content protection. CAS is generally used in the IPTV service to protect service and content. However, the CAS is not efficient in the Mobile IPTV. The CAS needs too much bandwidth for Service Key update to the each subscriber. Moreover, the CAS is increasing computation burden for the service key refreshment in the key management server when the subscriber frequently changes of the IPTV service group. To solve the problems, we used hierarchical key structure based on pre-shared key that is securely stored into smart card or USIM and do not use the EMM for Service Key update. As a result, the proposed scheme decreases computation burden at the key management server and wireless bandwidth burden in the Mobile IPTV service.

  • We propose and experimentally demonstrate a service-aware optical transport system. The proposed service-aware optical transport system makes a flow based on service type and priority of traffic. The generated flow is mapped to a corresponding sub-${\lambda}$ for transport over an optical network. Using sub-${\lambda}$ provided by the centralized control plane, we could effectively provide quality-of-service guaranteed Ethernet service and best-effort service simultaneously in a single link. The committed information rate (CIR) traffic and best-effort traffic are assigned to different sub-${\lambda}s$. The bandwidth of the CIR traffic is guaranteed without being affected by violation traffic because the bandwidth is managed per each sub-${\lambda}$. The failure detection time and restoration time from a link failure is measured to be about 60 ${\mu}s$ and 22 ms, respectively, in the ring network. The measured restoration time is much smaller than the 50 ms industry requirement for real-time services. The fast restoration time allows the proposed service-aware optical transport system to offer high availability and reliability which is a requirement for transport networks.
