Generalization by LoD and Coordinate Transformation in On-the-demand Web Mapping (웹환경에서 LoD와 좌표변형에 의한 지도일반화)

  • The purpose of map generalization is a method of map making to transmit the concise cartographic representation and geographic meaning. New generalization algorithm has been developed to be applied in the digital environments by the development of computer cartography. This study aims to look into possibilities of the multiscale mapping by generalization in application with the coordinate transformation and LoD(level of detail) in the web cartography. A method of the coordinate transformation is to improve a transmission of spatial data. Lod is a method which is making web map with selection spatial data by zoom level of users. Layers for test constructed contour line, stream network, the name of a place, a summit of mountain, and administrative office. The generalization was applied to zoom levels by scale for the linear and polygonal features using XML-Based scalable vector graphics(SVG). Resultantly, storage capacity of data was minimized 41% from 9.76mb to 4.08mb in SVG. Generalization of LoD was applied to map elements by stages of the zoom level. In the first stages of zoom level, the main name of places and administrative office, higher order of stream channels, main summit of mountain was represented, and become increase numbers of map elements in the higher levels. Results of this study can help to improve esthetic map and data minimization in web cartography, and also need to make an efforts to research an algorithm on the map generalization over the web.

  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze the blind spot for public transportation by level of service(LOS) in public transportation supply service. For the purpose, we proposed indices of service coverage area, service frequency and hours of service and analysis method for them. Service coverage area analysis is to decide station location and network design for the maximum beneficiary area. Moreover, we can use the service frequency is for the maximum service frequency decision and hours of service is for the minimum operation hours. The results of this study are applied to the plan of minimum supply service, minimum service frequency and minimum operation hours for city and national public transportation plan.

Flow Characteristics of Two-Dimensional Turbulent Stepped Wall Jet (2次元 亂流 Stepped Wall Jet 의 流動特性)

  • Measurements of mean velocity and turbulence characteristics are obtained with a linearized constant temperature hot-wire anemometer in a two-dimensional turbulent jet discharging parallel to a flate. Wall static pressure distribution is also measure. The Reynolds number based on the jet nozzle width (D) is about 42,000 and the step height is 2.5D. The reattachment length is found to be 7.5D by using both wool tuft and oil methods. Upstream of the reattachment point, there exist double coherent structures and mean velocity, Reynolds stresses and triple product profiles are asymmetric about jet center line due to the influence of streamline curvature and recirculating flow region. Near the reattachment point, wall static pressure and turbulence quantities change its shape rapidly because of the large eddies by the solid wall. Especially, turbulence intensity has a maximum value in the reattachment regin, then decreases slowly in the redeveloping wall jet ragion. Downstream of X/D=14, a single large scale eddy structure is formed. Far downstream affer the reattachment(X/D.geq.18) mean velocity profile, the decay of maximum velocity and the variation of jet half width are nearly similar to those of plane wall jet, but the Reynolds stresses are higher than those of the latter.

Effect of Self-esteem Improvement Program for Elementary School Children from Single-parent Families (한부모 가정 초등학생을 위한 자아존중감 향상 프로그램의 효과)

  • This study aims to testify the effect of self-esteem improvement program for elementary school children from single-parent families on their self-esteem and depression. Methods: The research design used in this study was a non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest research design. The participants were divided into two groups, an experimental group(n=11) and a control group(n=13). Data were analysed by using Mann-Whinety U test, Wilcoxon Signed Ranks, Cohen's d with SPSS(PASW)18.0 program. Result: Significant differences were found in scores for self-esteem(z=-2.499, p<.012, ES(d)=0.7) and depression(z=-2.145, p<.032, ES(d)=-0.4) in experimental group. Conclusion: The results indicate that the self-esteem improvement program should be used with elementary school children from single-parent families to help them and to improve their psycho-social adaptation.

Design of SoQ-based Cooperative Communication Protocol for UWB-based Distributed MAC/WUSB Systems (UWB 기반 Distributed MAC 시스템을 위한 SoQ 기반 협력 통신 프로토콜 설계)

  • The WiMedia Alliance has specified a Distributed Medium Access Control (D-MAC)/WUSB protocol based on UWB for high speed wireless home networks and WPANs. In this paper, we propose a novel SoQ-based cooperative communication protocol adaptive to current UWB link transmission rate and QoS measure. The proposed SoQ-based cooperative communication protocol has compatibility with current WiMedia D-MAC/Wireless USB standard and is executed at each device according to a SoQ-based Relay Node Selection (RNS) criterion.

  • 본 연구는 DEVS를 기반으로 개발된 교통류 시뮬레이션 시스템인 $\ulcorner$I$^3$D$^2$ 교통류 시뮬레이션 시스템$\lrcorner$(이하 I$^3$D$^2$)의 검증을 그 목적으로 한다. I$^3$D$^2$는 본 연구진이 DEVS를 기반으로 개발한 범용 시뮬레이션 도구로써, 이미 서울시 강남 신호교차로와 내부순환로를 대상으로 하여 개발된 내용을 발표한 바 있다. I$^3$D$^2$는 헌재 단속류에서의 최적신호 생성 및 대기행렬 예측 문제, 그리고 연속류 시설의 용량 산정 문제등을 시뮬레이션 할 수 있다. 하지만 아직 문헌자료나 현장 데이터를 토대로 한 충분한 검증이 수행되지 못한 문제가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 문헌자료를 토대로, I$^3$D$^2$를 검증한다. 이를 위하여 고속도로 또는 도시고속도로와 같은 연속 교통류의 대표적인 효과척도인 $\ulcorner$교통량 - 밀도 - 평균주행속도 (시간)$\lrcorner$ 간의 상관관계를 이용하여 미국 HCM과 우리나라의 도로용량편람에 정의되어 있는 기준을 토대로 I$^3$D$^2$ 검증을 수행하였다. 모델링은 서울시 올림픽대로의 양화대교 - 성산대교 - 가양대교 구간을 대상으로 했으며, 검증은 교통량에 따라 크게 3가지 교통류 상태(random, intermediate, constant)를 기준으로 시뮬레이션이 각각의 교통상태에서 예측한 평균주행시간의 정확도를 측정하면서 수행하였다. 검증 결과 random 상태에서는 문헌자료에 부합되는 예측결과를 보여주었으나, intermediate와 constant 상태에서는 문헌보다 다소 낮은 속도를 보여주었다 이러한 속도차는 추후 현장 데이터를 수집하여 보다 실질적인 검증을 통하여 조정되어야 할 것으로 판단된다.

  • When it tomes to IT investment, it's a challenge for the management to make the right decision. Unlike investment in other business area, it's hard to measure direct cost vs. effect in IT business. To validate the investment in IT, it is required to establish objective assessment system that both provider and beneficiary of information can accept, and it is also required to suggest an assessment tool of fixed quantity that includes measuring standards and method for the economic effect of new investment. This study, therefore, has developed IT ROI Methodology that can prove investment validity by accepting the strong points of the existing models while complementing their weak points and by analyzing IT Investment and IT Efforts. It also has built an IT ROI System that reflects the methodology which is applied to 21 companies of 5 business categories. This system is designed to provide effective and objective decision-making tool for IT investment by proving what positive impacts IT could have on business activities.

  • 본 논문에서는 방대한 양의 데이터를 실시간으로 처리하기 위한 병렬 디지털 신호처리시스템을 제안한다. 버스와 메모리의 구조가 다른 네 가지 신호처리부 모델을 제안하고 그들의 성능을 분석한다. 신호처리부의 분석은 소나 알고리즘을 실행하는데 소요되는 하드웨어 지연시간과 버스 지연시간의 합을 척도로 한 성능 분석과 보드의 복잡도를 비교하는 방법을 통하여 이루어졌다. 성능분석한 결과, 지역 메모리와 공유 메모리를 함께 사용하는 모델이 가장 효율적인 것으로 나타났다.

  • 본 논문에서는 UWB 기술 기반 WiMedia Distributed Medium Access Control (D-MAC) 표준 프로토콜에 적용할 수 있는 Satisfaction of QoS (SoQ) 기반 협력 통신 프로토콜을 제안한다. 이를 위해 UWB 링크 전송 속도와 QoS 척도에 따른 릴레이 노드 선정 알고리즘을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 SoQ 기반 협력 통신 프로토콜은 분산적인 D-MAC 표준 기술과 호환성을 갖고, 각 디바이스에서 독립적으로 실행되는 SoQ 기반 Relay Node Selection (RNS) 기준에 따라 실행된다.

The Effect of Conflict Resolution Program on Children's Psychological Well-being, Empathy, and Aggression (갈등해결 프로그램이 초등학생의 심리적 안녕감, 공감 및 공격성에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of the conflict resolution program on children's psychological well-being, empathy, and aggression. The subjects of this study were 2 classes from fourth grade D elementary school in Daegu. One class(31 students) was placed in an experimental group and the other class(32 students) was placed in a control group. The research design of this study is based on a pre-test and a post-test between the both groups. With the test data, the students feedbacks were collected to identify the subject's responds to the program. Item data were analyzed by repeated measures MANOVA(two-factor mixed design). The quantitative results of this study were as follows: First, compared to the control group, the experimental group that participated in the conflict resolution program showed a significant improvement in psychological well-being. Second, compared to the control group, the experimental group that participated in the conflict resolution program showed a significant improvement in empathy. compared to the control group, the experimental group that participated in the conflict resolution program showed a significant decrease in aggression. These results were supported and intensified by qualitative data based on comment papers and questionnaire. In conclusion, the conflict resolution program can be an effective tool for the improvement of psychological well-being and empathy, and the decrease of aggression.
