Since Mittag-Leffler introduced the so-called Mittag-Leffler function, a number of its extensions have been investigated due mainly to their applications in a variety of research subjects. Shukla and Prajapati presented a lot of formulas involving a generalized Mittag-Leffler function in a systematic manner. Motivated mainly by Shukla and Prajapati's work, we aim to investigate a generalized multi-index Mittag-Leffler function and, among possible numerous formulas, choose to present several formulas involving this generalized multi-index Mittag-Leffler function such as a recurrence formula, derivative formula, three integral transformation formulas. The results presented here, being general, are pointed out to reduce to yield relatively simple formulas including known ones.
Single-carrier frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA) is currently being used in long-term evolution uplink communications owing to its low peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR). This study proposes a new transceiver design for an SC-FDMA system based on Walsh-Hadamard transform (WHT). The proposed WHT-based SC-FDMA system has low-PAPR and better bit-error rate (BER) performance compared with the conventional SC-FDMA system. The WHT-based SC-FDMA transmitter has the same complexity as that of discrete Fourier transform (DFT)-based transmitter, while the receiver's complexity is higher than that of the DFT-based receiver. The exponential companding technique is used to reduce its PAPR without degrading its BER. Moreover, the performances of different ordered WHT systems have been studied in additive white Gaussian noise and multipath fading environments. The proposed system has been verified experimentally by considering a real-time channel with the help of wireless open-access research platform hardware. The supremacy of the proposed transceiver is demonstrated based on simulated and experimental results.

In this article, we are interested in studying the fractional Sadik Transform and a combination of the method of steps that will be applied together to find accurate solutions or approximations to homogeneous and non-homogeneous delayed fractional differential equations with constant-coefficient and possible extension to time-dependent delays. The results show that the process is correct, exact, and easy to do for solving delayed fractional differential equations near the origin. Finally, we provide several examples to illustrate the applicability of this method.
This research aims to explicate how we reveal our identity and emphasize beauty in our passion for beauty. It also attempts to find out our sense of beauty in exaggeration of visual expressions. The purpose is to represent how the contemporary knit fashion is various and exaggerated in our modern fashion world, and also to give the direction of new knitwear designs through the visual analysis of exaggerated knit fashion. Literature research was done by studying reference books and magazines, leading papers and based on a dissertation thesis. This study collected 787 designer's works published in the world's big Four collections from the 2000 S/S to 2011 S/S, in 23 seasons during 12 years. In answer to 9 experts about the criteria of classification, 520 works were chosen and analyzed according to the standard of exaggerated knitwear. The result of the study is the followings: The type of exaggeration shown in contemporary knit fashion was classified in three categories; Enlarge exaggeration, reduce exaggeration and transform exaggeration. As a sub-category, enlarge exaggeration was classified into three categories; Volume expansion and the expansion by the material, gauge and larger composition application expansion. Reduce exaggeration appeared as mini-reduction, skinny-reduction and transform exaggeration was respectively classified into deformation of the shape and patterns. The characteristics of exaggeration shown in contemporary knit fashion appeared as the new formative sense. In terms of fuller sense and surface, using various materials, gauge, changes in the composition represented challenges for textiles. The exaggerated contemporary knitwear expressed sex appeal using tight-fitting effect. Contemporary knit fashion simplified the design by taking advantage of the strong elastic attributes. It showed the beauty of women, expressed variability and limitless knit characteristics beyond the conventional thinking. In addition, it has been well represented as a form of freedom, amusement and diversity.
A wavelet method is applied to the analysis of gravity potential. One scaling function is proposed to generate wavelet. The scaling function is shown to be replaced to the Green’s function in gravity potential. The upward continuation can be expressed as a wavelet transform i.e. convolution with the scaling function. The scaling factor indicates the height variation. The multiscale edge detection is carried by connecting the local maxima of the wavelet transform at scales. The multiscale edge represents discontinuity of the geological structure. The multiscale edge method is applied to gravity data from Masan and Changwon.

In view of the fact that gas insulated switchgear (GIS) is an important piece of equipment in a substation, it is highly desirable to continuously monitor the state of equipment by measuring the partial discharge (PD) activity in a GIS, as PD is a symptom of an insulation weakness/breakdown. However, since the PD signal is relatively weak and the external noise makes detection of the PD signal difficult, it therefore requires careful attention in its detection. In this paper, the algorithm for detection of PD in the GIS using the wavelet transform (WT) is proposed. The WT provides a direct quantitative measure of the spectral content and dynamic spectrum in the time-frequency domain. The most appropriate mother wavelet for this application is the Daubechies 4 (db4) wavelet. 'db4', the most commonly applied mother wavelet in the power quality analysis, is very well suited to detecting high frequency signals of very short duration, such as those associated with the PD phenomenon. The proposed algorithm is based on utilizing the absolute sum value of coefficients, which are a combination of D1 (Detail 1) and D2 (Detail 2) in multiresolution signal decomposition (MSD) based on WT after noise elimination and normalization.

The transform limited optical short pulses are generated by compression of pulses from a gain switched distributed feedback laser at 5 GHz repetition rate. The gain-switched pulses have the minimum pulse width of 27 psec with the spectral width of 1.1 nm. Thus the output pulses have a large amount of linear chirp and nonlinear chirp. We suppress the nonlinear chirp by passing the pulses through the optical band pass filter with 3 dB band width of 0.55 nm which is narrower than spectral width of the input pulses and generate 7.1 psec pulses by compressing the output with the dispersion compensating fiber. The pulses have time-bandwidth product of 0.49 which is close to the transform limited gaussian pulse. These pulses can be utilized as optical sources in 40 Gbit/s time division multiplexed optical transmission system.
High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) adopted the Discrete Cosine Transform-II (DCT-II) based interpolation filter to improve coding efficiency in motion compensation and estimation. In HEVC, the interpolation filters based on the DCT-II are composed of 8-point for half-pixel and 7-point for 1/4-pixel and 3/4-pixel. In this paper, a DST-VII based interpolation filter is used improve motion compensation and estimation. The experimental results which applied the DST-VII interpolation filter are presented. They show the 0.45% of average bitrate reduction in Random Access configuration and 0.5% of average bitrate reduction in Low Delay B configuration, respectively.

In this paper, the high-speed decoder for RS(Reed-Solomon) code, one of the most popular error correcting code, is implemented using VHDL. This RS decoder is designed in transform domain instead of most time domain. Because of the simplicity in structure, transform decoder can be easily realized VLSI chip. Additionally the pipeline architecture, which is similar to a systolic array is applied for all design. Therefore, This transform RS decoder is suitable for high-rate data transfer. After synthesis with FPGA technology, the decoding rate is more 43 Mbytes/s and the area is 1853 LCs(Logic Cells). To compare with other product with pipeline architecture, this result is admirable. Error correcting ability and pipeline performance is certified by computer simulation.

Motion compensation by affine transform has been proposed as a solution to the artifact problems in very low bit rate video coding and a HMA(Hexagoanl Matching Algorithm) has been proposed for refine motions estimation. When dividing images with an affine transform, as image objects do not necessarily conform to triangle patterns. In this paper we propose a method that first divides an image into triangular patches according to its edge information and then further divides the image into more detailed triangular patches where more complicated edge information occurs. We image propose a PMA(Polygona Matching Algorithm) for refine motion estimation because of the different triangle pattern types of neighboring blocks and its performance is compared with H.263.
