현무암을 혼입한 콘크리트의 최적배합설계를 위한 기초적 연구 (Preliminary Study for Optimum Mix Design of Concrete Incorporating Waste Basalt)

  • The waste basalt might be recycled in concrete, resulting in energy saving and environmental protection. An half Factorial Experiments were performed with the variables of W/C ratio, S/A, Crushed stone/Basalt ratio and Slump as a preliminary study for optimum mix design of concrete. The results show that the W/C ratio is the most important factor to the concrete strength. The substitute of waste basalt up to 100% has little influence, saying that it can substitute the coarse aggregate without damaging the concrete properties.

  • The waste foundry sand might be recycled in concrete, resulting in energy saving and environmental protection.   • 본 연구는 경남해안지역 연약점토의 토질특성과 압축지수와의 관계를 알아보기 위해 김해지역 82개소, 진해지역 18개소, 거제지역 27개소의 불교란 상태의 시료를 채취하여 물성실험 및 역학실험을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 경남해안지역 연약점토의 압축지수는 Terzaghi & Peck이 제안한 경험식을 적용할 수 없음을 알 수 있었다. 경남 해안지역 연약점토의 압축지수는 자연함수비, 액성한계, 초기간극비와 상관성이 있었으며, 이들 중 압축지수는 초 기간극비와 상관성이 가장 컸다. (1) 경남해안지역 연약점토의 압축지수는 $C_c=0.74(e_o-0.7$로 나타낼 수 있다. (2) 경남해안지역 연약점토의 압축지수와 팽창지수와의 관계는 $C_s=(1/8-1/15)C_c$이다.

Deposition of Plasma Polymerized Films on Silicon Substrates Using Plasma Assisted CVD Method For Low Dielectric Application

  • Plasma polymerized thin films have been deposited on Si(lOO) substrates at $25-400^{\circ}C$ using thiophene ($C_4H_4S$) precursor by plasma assisted chemical vapor deposition (PACVD) method for low-dielectric device application. In order to compare physical properties of the as-grown thin films, the effects of the plasma power, gas flow ratio and deposition temperature on the dielectric constant and thermal stability were mainly studied. XRD and TED studies revealed that the as-grown thin films have highly oriented amorphous polymer structure. XPS data showed that the polymerized thin films that grown under different RF power and deposition temperature as well as different gas ratio of $Ar:H_2$ have different stoichiometric ratio of C and S compared with that of monomer, indicating a formation of mixture polymers. Moreover, we also realized that oxygen free and thermally stable polymer thin films could be grown at even $400^{\circ}C$. The results of SEM, AFM and TEM showed that the polymer films with smooth surface and sharp interface could be grown under various deposition conditions. From the electrical property measurements such as I-V and C-V characteristics, the minimum dielectric constant and the best leakage current were obtained to be about 3.22 and $10-11{\;}A/\textrm{cm}^2$, respectively.

고강도 철근 콘크리트 깊은 보의 전단거동에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Shear Behavior of High Strength Concrete Deep Beam)

  • The purpose of this experimental study is to investigate the shear behavior of high-strength concrete deep beam and to grasp the conservatism of ACI Building Code. Experimental results on 12 deep beams under two equal symmetrically placed point loads are reported. Main variables are vertical and horizontal web reinforcement and shear span-to-overall depth ratio. Test results indicated that web reinforcement dose not affect on formation of inclined cracks but shear span-to-overall depth ratio affect on inclined shear cracks and ultimate shear strength. Addition of vertical web reinforcement improves ultimate shear strength of H.S.C. deep beams that shear span-to-overall depth ratio is 1.0. Considerable increase in ultimate shear strength of H.S.C. deep beams with increasing horizontal web reinforcement that shear span-to-overall depth ratio is 0.5. Especially with increasing concrete strength($f_{ck}$) the ACI code is conservative in estamating the ultimate shear strength of deep beams.

Shot-peening 표면처리된 Ti 함유 스테인리스강의 응력균열부식 (Stress Corrosion Cracking Characteristics of Shot-peened Stainless Steel Containing Ti)

  • Stress corrosion cracking(SCC) characteristics of shot-peened stainless steel containing Ti (0.09 wt%-0.92 wt%) fabricated by the vacuum furnace were investigated using SCC tester and potentiostat. The homogenization and the sensitization treatment were carried out at $1050^{\circ}C$ for 1hr and $650^{\circ}C$ for 5 hr. The samples for SCC were shot-peened using $\Phi$0.6 mm steel ball for 4 min and 10 min. Intergranular and pitting corrosion characteristics were investigated by using EPR and CPPT. SCC test was carried out at the condition of$ 288^{\circ}C$, 90 kgf pressure, water with 8 ppm dissolved oxygen, and $8.3xl0^{-7}$/s strain rate. After the corrosion and see test, the surface of the tested specimen was observed by the optical microscope, TEM and SEM. Specimen with Ti/C ratio of 6.14 showed high tensile strength at the sensitization treatment. The tensile strength decreased with the increase of the Ti/C ratio. Pitting and intergranular corrosion resistance increased with the increase of Ti/C ratio. Stress corrosion cracking strength of shot-peened specimen was higher than that of non shot- peened specimen. Stress corrosion cracking strength decreased with the increase of the Ti/C ratio.

Influence of Postconceptional Age on the Renal Biomarkers in Very-Low-Birth-Weight Infants

  • Purpose: We investigated whether consecutive levels of new emerging renal biomarkers, including serum cystatin C (CysC) and urinary neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL)/creatinine (Cr) ratio, were affected by postconceptional age in very-low-birth-weight (VLBW) infants. Methods: Repeatedly measured samples for each infant were divided into four groups according to postnatal age: at birth (stage I), 3 to 7 days postnatally (stage II), 8 to 28 days postnatally (stage III), and >28 days postnatally (stage IV). The association between renal biomarkers and postconceptional age was assessed using Pearson's correlation coefficient, and the mean values of renal biomarkers in the four stages were compared using repeated-measures analysis of variance. Results: For samples measured at birth, serum CysC (r=-0.358, P=0.032) and urinary NGAL/Cr ratio (r=-0.522, P=0.001) were negatively correlated with gestational age, whereas serum Cr (r=0.148, P=0.390) was not. In addition, for all samples measured, serum CysC (r=-0.209, P=0.012), urinary NGAL/Cr ratio (r=-0.536, P<0.001), and serum Cr (r=-0.311, P<0.001) were negatively correlated with postconceptional age. Compared with the mean values of the postnatal age-specific stages, serum CysC showed no significant differences in any of the four stages. However, the urinary NGAL/Cr ratio in stage IV was significantly different from those in stages I to III. Conclusion: Although urinary NGAL/Cr ratio and serum CysC were negatively correlated with postconceptional age considering renal development, serum CysC showed no significant differences in any of the four postnatal age-specific stages. Urinary NGAL/Cr ratio at >28 days postnatally seems to be more affected by postconceptional age than serum CysC in VLBW infants.

  • Tunnel junctions with AI-N barriers fabricated by microwave-excited plasma were studied. When the Al thickness, nitridation time, and annealing temperature were 1 nm (0.8 nm), 50 s (35 s), and $280^{\circ}C$ ($300^{\circ}C$), TMR ratio and resistance-area product (RA) were 49% (34%) and $3 ${\times}$ 10^4$ $\Omega$$\mu\m^2$ ($1.5 ${\times}$ 10^4$ $\Omega$$\mu\m^2$), respectively. In order to clarify the annealing temperature dependence of TMR ratio, the local transport properties were measured for Ta 5 nm/Cu 20 nm/Ta 5 nm$29_{76}$ $Fe_{24}$ 2 nm/Cu 5 nm/M $n_{75}$$Ir_{25}$ 10 nm/ $Co_{71}$ $Co_{29}$ 4nm/Al-N junction with Al thickness of 0.8 nm and nitridation time of 35s at various temperatures. The increase of TMR ratio after annealing at $300^{\circ}C$, where the TMR ratio of the corresponding MTJ had the maximum value of 34%, can be well explained by the enhancement of the average barrier height ($\Phi_{ave}$) and the reduction of its fluctuation. After further annealing at $340^{\circ}C$, the leakage current was observed and the TMR ratio decreaseded

  • A laser-engineered net shaping (LENS) process is a representative directed energy deposition process. Deposition characteristics of the LENS process are greatly dependent on the process parameters. The present paper preliminarily investigates deposition characteristics of Inconel 718 superalloy on S45C structural steel using a LENS process. The influence of process parameters, including the laser power and powder feed rate, on the characteristics of the bead formation and the dilution in the vicinity of the deposited region is examined through repeated experiments. A processing map and feasible deposition conditions are estimated from viewpoints of the aspect ratio, defect formation, and the dilution rate of the deposited bead. Finally, an appropriate deposition condition considering side angle, deposition ratio, and buy-to-fly (BTF) is predicted.

옥수수 가루를 첨가한 Rice-Corn Cakes의 특성에 관한 연구 (The Quality Characteristics of Rice-Corn Cakes)

  • This experiment was carried out to investigate the effects of adding corn flour on the quality of rice cakes. Rice-corn cakes were prepared by adding corn flour at 25%, 50% and 75%, and the quality characteristics were measured. In the expansion ratio, springiness and cohesiveness of rice-corn cakes, the 25% group(C-25) was the highest and the 75% group(C-75) was the lowest. The higher the ratio of adding corn flour was, the lower the expansion ratio, springiness and cohesiveness were. In the hardness and chewiness of rice-corn cakes, the 75 % group(C-75) was the highest and the 25% group(C-25) was the lowest. But in the taste, texture and overall acceptance of rice-corn cakes, the 50% group(C-50) was the best.
