Development of the New Hormonic Eliminating Device Using Zig-Zag Connection and Open-Delta Mode (Zig-Zag 결선 및 Open-Delta 방식을 이용한 새로운 고조파 저감장치의 개발)

  • The conventional harmonic filters to reduce zero harmonic current from neutral reactors and Zig-Zag connection, have several disadvantages of the decreased reduction rate of harmonics under a light load, because they have the load factor-dependent reduction rate of harmonics, and the risk of potential breaking in the neutral line by heated neutral reactor. Based Zig-Zag connection and Open-Delta mode, this new harmonic eliminating device (HANOS) adopts the combination of Zig-Zag connection and Open-Delta mode-the latter is additionally applied to the transformer's core block for connection to the neutral line. The results of this study demonstrated that the new device could eliminate safely zero harmonic current running in the neutral line without heating.

Information Arrival between Price Change and Trading Volume in Crude Palm Oil Futures Market: A Non-linear Approach

  • This paper is the first of its kind using a non-linear approach based on cross-correlation function (CCF) to investigate the information arrival hypothesis in crude palm oil (CPO) futures market. Based on daily data from 1986 to 2010, our empirical results reveal that: First, the volume of volatility is not a proxy of information flow. Second, dependence causality running from current return to future volume in conditional variance exhibit an asymmetric pattern of time span with different signs of correlation between price and volume series. This finding indicates the presence of noise traders' hypothesis of price-volume interaction in CPO futures market. Both findings suggest that this futures market is weak-form inefficiency. In terms of investors' behavior, they tend to change their expectations on current return based on errors made in previous trade in generating abnormal volume in the subsequent period. As implied, it is advisable for the investors devise their future trading strategies according to time span and changes of return.

  • Road traffic noise is not produced by any one factor rather occurs as a composition of various factors. Its occurrence is made by running engine noise, tire frictional, and exhaust noise etc. The quality of the noise depends on the size of the vehicles, rotation and engine speed, vehicle load, package state of the road and incline etc. The occurrence of noise level of heavy trucks appears louder than smaller vehicles and the noise levels produced differs according to speed and load etc between similar size vehicles. Other factors such as traffic density, average speed, mixing rate of heavy vehicles, and the distance between vehicles also generate road traffic noise. In this paper we examine 2, 4, and 6-lane roads in Jeonju. Consequently, this study examined the means used to measure road traffic noise. It was found that when there is a large traffic density and the average velocity is below 70 km/hr, the noise level could receive a relative proper value by the current measuring means. But in the case of night-time, it was found that the current measuring method is inapposite.

Effect of Operational Parameters on the Removal of Microcystis aeruginosa in Electro-flotation Process

  • Despite the low removal efficiencies reported by previous studies, electro-flotation still stands out among other microalgae removal methods for its economical and environmental benefits. To enhance removal efficiency, the important factors that limit the performance of this method must be investigated. In this study, the possible ways of increasing the removal efficiency of microalgae have been explored by investigating the effects of several important variables in electro-flotation. Eight parameters, namely flotation time, rising time, current density, pH, conductivity, electrode distance, temperature and initial concentration were evaluated using a one-parameter-at-a-time approach. Results revealed that the operational parameters that greatly affected the removal efficiency of microalgae were electro-flotation time, current density, pH, and initial concentration. The effect of conductivity, electrode distance, and temperature on removal efficiency were insignificant. However, they exhibited positive an indirect positive effect on power demand, which is nowadays considered an equally important aspect in the running of a feasible and economically efficient electro-flotation process.

  • The large drift and angle of attack motion of an ROV (Remotely operated vehicle) cannot be modeled using the typical hydrodynamic coefficients of conventional straight running AUVs and specific slender bodies. In this paper, the ROV hull is divided into several simple-shaped components to model the hydrodynamic force and moment. The hydrodynamic force and moment acting on each component are modeled as the components of added mass force and drag using the known values for simple shapes such as a cylinder and flat plate. Since an ROV is operated under the water, the only environmental force considered is the current effect. The target ROV dealt with in this paper has six thrusters, and it is assumed that its maneuvering motion is determined using a thrust allocation algorithm. Tracking simulations are carried out on the ship’s surface near the stern, bow, and midship sections based on the modeling of the hydrodynamic force and current effect.

  • Usually, after the decisions of the performance and range in the commercial vehicle, it is designed the ratings of the electric and mechanical elements for the vehicles. In this paper, the given performance and driving conditions, which are the maximum velocity, mileage, total weight of the normal gasoline scooter, battery type and size, and so on, are analysed for the design of the electric scooter. The maximum rotational speed and needed torque values of the electric motor which is substituted for the gasoline engine are calculated. These values can help to calculate the rating of the electric motor. In the calculation to obtain the torque and speed values, battery discharge and the running resistances are considered. We can decide the electric motor current value from the torque and speed values. The electric motor current values, which are significant parameter to decide the motor type and dimensions and characteristics of the electric motor, are decided by numerical simulation by the above conditions.

  • Recently, the use of artificial intelligence technology including deep learning has become active in various fields. In particular, several algorithms showing superior performance in object recognition and detection based on deep learning technology have been presented. In this paper, we propose the proper direction for the implementation of mobile healthcare application that user's convenience is effectively reflected. By effectively analyzing the current state of use satisfaction research for the existing fitness applications and the current status of mobile healthcare applications, we attempt to secure survival and superiority in the fitness application market, and, at the same time, to maintain and expand the existing user base.

  • A design was done, and all characteristic of photodetectr of the web pattern type which a standard process of the Bipolar which Si PIN structure was used in this paper, and was used for the current amplifier design was used, and high-speed, was used as receiving optcal area of high altitude, and the module which had a low dark current characteristic was implemented with one chip with a base. And, as for the optical current characteristic, about 5 times increases had the optical current with 274nA in 55nA when Pc was -27dBm. A BJT process is used, and receiving IC running electricity suitable for low voltage and an optical characteristic in minimum 1.8V with a base with two phases is made with one chip. IC of low voltage operates in 1.8V and 3.0V at the same time, and optical link receiving IC is going to be implemented

Real-Time Compensation Method of Current Measurement Error in Vector-Controlled Inverter for Induction Motor (유도전동기용 벡터제어 인버터에서 전류측정 오차의 실시간 보상 방법)

  • This paper proposes a novel method to compensate for the measurement errors in detecting phase currents for vector-controlled inverter in real-time. The output torque equations for 3-phase induction motor are derived in terms of offset error and transducing gain error in current measurement circuits, and the equations shows that motor output torque has many ripples due to current measurement errors. Especially, if the proposed method is applied to vector-controlled inverter, the torque ripple by transducing gain error can be reduced in real-time at running state of motor. To verify the proposed method, it was applied to vector-controlled inverter for 3-phase induction motor of 200[W] and computer simulation and experimentation were carried out.
