Varestraint Test법에 의한 Al-Li합금의 용접성 평가 (An Evaluation on the Weldability of Al-Li Alloys by Varestraint Testing Method)

  • The weldability of high purity aluminum-lithium binary alloys has been investigated using the Varestraint test. Autogenous GTAW (gas-tungsten-arc-welds) were run along specimens of different lithium concentration using three sets of welding parameters. Welding voltage was held constant at 10 volts. Welding current (70∼100 amps) and travel speed (23∼33 cm/min) were the parameter varied. Hot-tearing susceptibility varied with lithium content and exhibited a steep peak at 2.6 weight percent lithium. Depth of penetration increased with increasing heat input and lithium concentration. The susceptibility is influenced by the wettability of dendrites by the interdendritic eutectic liquid as well as the time available for back-Siting by eutectic liquid. The welding condition of welding current 70A and travel speed 23 cm/min was showed good resistance to cracking in aluminum-lithium alloys. Suggestions for improving weld cracking resistance are also provided.

소프트웨어 프레임워크를 이용한 대공유도무기 실시간 분산 시뮬레이터 개발 및 분석 (Development and Analysis of Real-time Distributed Air Defense System Simulator Using a Software Framework)

  • To overcome limitations of test scope, schedule and cost, M&S(Modeling & Simulation) technique has been applied for T&E(Test and Evaluation) of the state-of-art weapon systems. This paper proposes an air defense simulation software framework to reduce both redundancy an[1 programming errors in system simulator. The proposed framework consists of a 'model' and a 'middleware' The 'middleware' is a reliable communication service layer that supports not only HLA(High Level Architecture) which is an international standard in M&S but also TCP/IP, UDP and etc. The main role of 'model' is to schedule and to run the real-time distributed simulation. The proposed framework has been applied to M-SAM(Middle range Surface to Air Missile) system simulator. The proposed framework's scheduling and communication performance results are satisfactory and were measured by hardwired NTP(Network Timer Protocol) time-stamp with GPS(Global Positioning System) timer for better precision.

웨이브렛 변환 평면에서 적응 필터를 이용한 초음파 비파괴검사의 스펙클 잡음 감소 (Speckle Noise Reduction of Ultrasonic NDT Using Adaptive Filter in WT Domain)

  • 발전소와 같은 산업 시설물들은 높은 온도와 압력 등의 환경 하에서 지속적으로 안전하게 동작하는 것이 중요하다. 초음파를 이용한 비파괴 검사는 효율적이고 간편하기 때문에 이러한 시설물의 구조적 결함이나 안전성을 조사하기 위해 널리 이용되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 불 균일한 배질의 산란 입자들에 의해 생기는 스펙클 잡음을 제거하기 위하여 웨이브렛 변환 평면(wavelet transform domain)에서 LMS 알고리즘을 적용하였다. 사용한 신호의 통계적 특성을 알기 위하여 RUN 테스트를 수행하여 신호가 비정상성을 나타냄을 보였고, WTLMS 알고리즘을 사용하여 잡음을 제거한 후 입력 자기상관 행렬의 condition number 및 독립 입력과 지연된 입력 각각에 대한 출력의 신호 대 잡음비, 그리고 3차원 영상의 관점에서 LMS 알고리즘과 비교하였다. 실험 결과 웨이브렛 변환 평면에서 LMS 알고리즘을 이용해 수행한 결과가 시평면에서 수행한 결과보다 우수한 성능을 나타내었다.

철골보의 내화시간 평가를 위한 구조 및 열적 변수해석 (Analysis of Structural and Thermal Parameters for Evaluating Fire Resistance of Steel Beams)

  • 본 연구에서는 다양한 설계조건 하에서 철골보의 내화시간을 평가할 수 있는 산정식을 열-구조 연성해석(fully coupled thermo-mechanical analysis)을 토대로 제안하였다. 본 연구에서 제안하는 산정식은 철골보의 화재거동에 미치는 주요 인자를 구조변수 및 열변수로 명시적으로 반영하므로 각 설계변수의 내화성능에 대한 영향을 설계자가 쉽게 정량적으로 파악할 수 있는 강점이 있다. 광범위한 변수해석을 수행하기에 앞서 실물대 화재실험 결과를 활용하여 본 연구의 열-구조 연성해석모델의 타당성을 검증한 후, 철골보에 붕괴처짐(run-away deflection)이 발생할 때까지 화재거동에 대한 각 변수들의 영향력을 검토하였다. 이러한 수치해석결과를 다양한 설계조건에서 철골보의 내화시간 예측에 활용할 수 있도록 다중선형회귀분석을 통해 통계학적으로 신뢰도가 높은 평가식을 제안하였다. 현행 사양설계기준에서의 활용법을 사례를 들어 예시하였고, 제시된 식으로부터 얻어지는 경제성과 장점을 입증하였다.

Planar Motion Mechanism Test of the Mobile Harbor Running in Design Speed in Circulating Water Channel

  • Mobile Harbor (MH) is a new transportation platform that can load and unload containers onto and from very large container ships at sea. It could navigate near harbors where several vessels run, or it could navigate through very narrow channels. In the conceptual design phase when the candidate design changes frequently according to the various performance requirements, it is very expensive and time-consuming to carry out model tests using a large model in a large towing tank and a free-running model test in a large maneuvering basin. In this paper, a new Planar Motion Mechanism(PMM) test in a Circulating Water Channel (CWC) was conducted in order to determine the hydrodynamic coefficients of the MH. To do this, PMM devices including three-component load cells and inertia tare device were designed and manufactured, and various tests of the MH such as static drift test, pure sway test, pure yaw test, and drift-and-yaw combined test were carried out. Using those coefficients, course-keeping stability was analyzed. In addition, the PMM tests results carried out for the same KCS (KRISO container ship) were compared with our results in order to confirm the test validity.

The Convergence of Poverty Rates among States across the U.S.

  • Since income growth rate and poverty level are related, there is a possibility that the poverty rate may converge in the long run steady state as well. If the poverty rate converges, then for this study the state that begins with the high poverty rate would have a higher poverty reduction rate. To examine the convergence of poverty rate among the US states, this study uses two times series methodologies. First, in order to prevent the power loss from ignoring the structural break when testing for a unit root in a single time series, this study employs the newly developed panel LM unit root tests with level and trend shifts. The results of unit root tests of the log of poverty rate without allowing for structural breaks show that twenty six states reject the null hypothesis of unit root test for the ADF test, twenty five states for the LM test, and thirty five states for the RALS-LM test. The result of unit root tests that allow one structural break shows that the null hypothesis of a unit root test is rejected for twenty two states with the LM test, and thirty three states with the RALS-LM test. This supports poverty rates are converging among US states.

Cumulative Sum Control Charts for Simultaneously Monitoring Means and Variances of Multiple Quality Variables

  • Multivariate cumulative sum (CUSUM) control charts for simultaneously monitoring both means and variances under multivariate normal process are investigated. Performances of multivariate CUSUM schemes are evaluated for matched fixed sampling interval (FSI) and variable sampling interval (VSI) features in terms of average time to signal (ATS), average number of samples to signal (ANSS). Multivariate Shewhart charts are also considered to compare the properties of multivariate CUSUM charts. Numerical results show that presented CUSUM charts are more efficient than the corresponding Shewhart chart for small or moderate shifts and VSI feature with two sampling intervals is more efficient than FSI feature. When small changes in the production process have occurred, CUSUM chart with small reference values will be recommended in terms of the time to signal.

고정반복법에 의한 암시적 HHT 시간적분법을 이용한 철근콘크리트 골조구조물의 실시간 하이브리드실험 (Real-Time Hybrid Testing Using a Fixed Iteration Implicit HHT Time Integration Method for a Reinforced Concrete Frame)

  • 고정반복법에 의한 암시적 HHT 시간적분법을 이용하여 3층 3경간 철근콘크리트 골조구조물을 수치해석모형과 물리적 분구조모형으로 나누어 실시간 하이브리드실험을 실시하였다. 물리적 부분구조모형으로는 1층 내부 비연성기둥 1개소가 선택되었고, 수치해석모형에 일축 방향의 지진하중을 시편이 심한 손상에 의하여 파괴에 이를 때까지 작용시켰다. 비선형 유한요소해석 프로그램인 Mercury가 실시간 하이브리드실험을 위하여 새로이 개발 및 적용되었다. 실험결과는 물리적 부분구조모형의 상부 수평방향 층간변위비를 OpenSees에 의한 수치해석시뮬레이션과 진동대실험의 그것과 비교하였다. 본 실험은 가장 복잡한 실시간 하이브리드실험 중의 하나이고, 하드웨어, 알고리즘 그리고 모형에 대한 기술적인 내용을 본 논문에 자세히 설명하였다. 수치해석모형의 개선, 물리적 부분구조 모형 접선강성행렬의 유한요소해석 프로그램에서의 평가 그리고 하중기반 보-요소의 요소상태결정의 연산시간을 줄이기 위한 소프트웨어의 개선이 이루어진다면 실시간 하이브리드실험과 진동대실험결과의 비교는 권장할 만하다. 그리고 "지진과 같은 동적하중하의 복잡한 구조물의 수치해석시뮬레이션"이라는 목적을 위하여 실시간 하이브리드실험은 동적하중에 대한 실험적 검증을 점진적으로 수치해석모형으로 대체하기 위한 저비용-고효율 실험법으로서의 가치를 충분히 가지고 있다고 할 수 있다.

중학생의 여가활동과 흡연.음주와의 관계 (The Relationship between Leisure Activities and Smoking/Drinking of Middle School Students)

  • Purpose: This study was to identify the correlation between leisure activities and smoking/drinking of middle school students. Methods: Data were collected through a questionnaire survey of 298 middle school students from the $2^{nd}$ to $30^{th}$ of September, 2009. Collected data were analyzed statistically using frequency, $x^2$ test, t-test, ANOVA, Duncan test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and hierarchical multiple regression analysis using the SPSS/WIN 17.0 program. The study used the Adolescent Leisure Time Activities Scale (ALTAS) developed by Yin et al. (1999) for types of leisure activities and the Leisure Satisfaction Scale (LSS) developed by Beard & Ragheb (1980). Results: First, smoking/drinking caused significant differences in 'Socialization with friends', and drinking also caused significant differences in 'Sport activities'. Second, leisure satisfaction was positively correlated with 'currently drinking' (r=.126, p<.05). Third, significant factors influencing leisure satisfaction were grades, school life satisfaction, subjective health status, average daily leisure time, participation in leisure health program, and current drinking. These variables explained 23.4% of leisure satisfaction. Conclusion: School nurses should develop and run programs, which promote healthy ways for middle school students with wrong ways such as drinking to get leisure satisfaction. Also family, school and community should be cooperatively connected with one another.

송전용 실리콘 폴리머애자의 산불영향 신뢰성 평가( I ) (Reliability Assessment of Forest Fire on Silicone Polymer Insulators in Transmission Lines( I ))

  • Most overhead transmission lines in Korea run over the mountain; however, only little study has been made for the effect of mountain fire on polymeric insulator for transmission lines, though the study is significantly required, Therefore, in this study, the authors observed the deformation of the sheds of the insulator under fire, varying the ignition time using artificial ignition testing equipment, and investigated electrical and mechanical characteristics of the insulator through dry withstand voltage test, impulse flashover test and tensile load test. As the results of the tests, the following conclusions were obtained, First, when the insulator was subjected to the fire, the electrical characteristics were slightly reduced, but there was no change on the mechanical characteristics, Secondly, the sheds and sheath of the insulator were not non-flammable but less-flammable. These two results show the high mechanical stability and durability of the insulator under severe fire condition, though the electrical characteristics can be deteriorated as the time that the insulator is subjected to fire, goes by.
