  • A number of previous researches in evolutionary algorithm are based on the study of facets we observe in natural evolution. The individuals of species in natural evolution occupy their own niche that is a subdivision of the habitat. This means that two species with the similar requirements cannot live together in the same niche. This is known as the competitive exclusion principle, i.e., complete competitors cannot coexist. In this paper, a new evolutionary programming algorithm adopting this concept is presented. Similarly in the case of natural evolution , the algorithm Includes the concept of niche obtained by partitioning a search space and the competitive exclusion principle performed by migrating individuals. Cell partition and individual migration strategies are used to preserve search diversity as well as to speed up convergence of an ...

  • The purpose of this research is to build a quality-improved occupancy grid map for path-planning of an autonomous mobile robot(AMR) based on the measurements from a single ultrasonic sensor, which are acquired when the autonomous mobile robot explores unknown indoor environment. The AMR navigates in the unknown space by following the wall and gathers the range data using the ultrasonic sensor, from which the occupancy grid map is constructed by associating the range data with occupancy certainties. In order to increase the quality of the map we modify the Bayesian probability updating rule, reject non-systematic measurement errors and correct the predictable error of the AMR itself. These procedures are implemented and tested using an AMR, and primary results are presented in this paper.

  • In this paper, the scheme of fuzzy system construction using GA(genetic algorithm) and FCM(Fuzzy c-means) clustering algorithm is proposed for TSK(Takagi-Sugeno-Kang) type fuzzy system. in the structure identification, input data is trans-formed by PCA(Principal Component Analysis) to reduce the correlation among input data components. And then, the number of fuzzy rule is obtained by a given performance criterion. In the parameter identification, the premise parameters are optimally searched by GA. On the other hand, the consequent parameters are estimated by RLSE(Recursive Least Square Estimate) to reduce the search space. From this, one can systematically obtain optimal parameter and the v..

  • This paper applies the fuzzy logic controller to a semiactive seat suspension system in order to obtain the better ride comfort in constraint of specific rattle space. The seat suspension system used for this research is a scissors-type one with the MR (Magneto Rheological) fluid damper. Since a seat suspension system with a driver can not be exactly modeled, it is effective to control with the fuzzy logic controller. The rule was carefully tuned to effectively reduce the vibration transmitted to a driver. The on-road ride was realized on a hydraulic excitor and the result shows that the fuzzy controller has reduced the vibration of a seat suspension system compared to the continuous skyhook controller.

  • A numerical investigation for the flow, heat and mass transfer characteristics of the grooved evaporating tube with the films flowing down on both the inside and outside tube walls has been carried out. The condensation occurs along the outside wall while the evaporation takes place at the free surface of the inside film. The 3-D transport equations for momentum and energy are solved by using the FVM(Finite Volume Method). The free surface shape is tracked by the moving grid technique satisfying the SCL(Space Conservation Rule). Due to the secondary motion of the fluid, the film thins at the crest, while thickens at the valley. The velocity and temperature fields as well as the amounts of the condensed and evaporated mass have been successfully predicted for various operating conditions and groove shapes.

  • This paper introduces the fuzzy scatter partition-based fuzzy inference system to construct the model for nonlinear process to analyze nonlinear characteristics. The fuzzy rules of fuzzy inference systems are generated by partitioning the input space in the scatter form using Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) clustering algorithm. The premise parameters of the rules are determined by membership matrix by means of FCM clustering algorithm. The consequence part of the rules is represented in the form of polynomial functions and the parameters of the consequence part are estimated by least square errors. The proposed model is evaluated with the performance using the data widely used in nonlinear process. Finally, this paper shows that the proposed model has the good result for high-dimension nonlinear process.

  • Free-surface flows with an arbitrary deformation, induced by a submerged hydrofoil, are simulated numerically, considering two-fluid flows of both water and air. The computation is performed by a finite volume method using unstructured meshes and an interface capturing scheme to determine the shape of the free surface. The method uses control volumes with an arbitrary number of faces and allows cell wise local mesh refinement. The integration in space is of second order, based on midpoint rule integration and linear interpolation. The method is fully implicit and uses quadratic interpolation in time through three time levels. The linear equations are solved by conjugate gradient type solvers, and the non-linearity of equations is accounted for through Picard iterations. The solution method is of pressure-correction type and solves sequentially the linearized momentum equations, the continuity equation, the conservation equation of one species, and the equations for two turbulence quantities. Finally, a comparison is quantitatively made at the same speed between the computation and experiment in which the grid sensitivity is numerically checked.

  • Music is composed according to time flow. In case of music therapy, it is the most important thing and this properties must be emphasized in operation, also act as one of the most important elements that increase the effect of medical treatment. Especially in the case of Oriental Medical music therapy, we must consider the change of time and space, so determine the direction and methods of treatment. In order to compose the music therapy process according to time flow[plot composition], first we have to analyze the musical and literary works that have step-by-step composition. Next we must consider how Gi(氣) changes occur in the base of principle of Eumyang(陰陽) and Ohaeng(五行). When the rule of composition as time flow is grafted onto Oriental Medical music therapy, native characteristics of music would have significance.

  • In this study, the counting method for multi-axial and multi-point load states was proposed. Using this counting method, the load spectrum is generated from the service load history which is measured for boom structure of excavator. Loading state for loading points of boom structure is described as a multi-dimensional state space. From this load spectrum, the stress spectrum was generated by FEM analysis using the superposition of the unit load. The cumulated damage at the severe damage point of In nm structure by the failure example is calculated by Palmgren-Miner's rule. As a result of this study, the fatigue life estimation using the multi-axial and multi-point load counting method is useful.

  • In highschool probability education, this study analyzed conflicts between intuitive concept and formal definition which originates from the process of establishing the concept of statistical independence. In judging independence, completely different types of problems requiring their own approach was analyzed by dividing them into two types. By doing so, this study researched a way to view independence as an overall idea. That is purposed to suggest a solution to a conflicts between intuitive concept and formal definition and to help not to judge independence out of wrong intuition. This study also suggests that calculation process which leads to precise perception of sample space and event be provided when we prove independence by expressing events with assembly symbols.
