  • This paper presents an approach to obtain a reduced neuro-fuzzy model for a plant. The Neuro-Fuzzy Network are compose of the Radial Basis Function Networks with Gausis membership and learned by using temporal back propagation. The dependency in rough set theory is used to eliminate rules. Dependency between the condition membership value of each rule in a model and the output of the plant can allow us to see how much contribution the rule is to identify the plant. While the reduced model maintains the same performance as the original one, the selection algorithm can minimize its complexity and redundancy of the structure.

  • In this paper, we propose a Fuzzy Classifier System(FCS) to find a set of fuzzy rules which can carry out the edge detection. The classifier system of Holland can evaluate the usefulness of rules represented by classifiers with repeated learning. FCS makes the classifier system be able to carry out the mapping from continuous inputs to outputs. It is the FCS that applies the method of machine learning to the concept of fuzzy logic. It is that the antecedent and consequent of classifier is same as a fuzzy rule. In this paper, the FCS is the Michigan style. A single fuzzy if-then rule is coded as an individual. The average gray levels which each group of neighbor pixels has are represented into fuzzy set. Then a pixel is decided whether it is edge pixel or not using fuzzy if-then rules. Depending on the average of gray levels, a number of fuzzy rules can be activated, and each rules makes the output. These outputs are aggregated and defuzzified to take new gray value of the pixel. To evaluate this edge detection, we will compare the new gray level of a pixel with gray level obtained by the other edge detection method such as Sobel edge detection. This comparison provides a reinforcement signal for FCS which is reinforcement learning. Also the FCS employs the Genetic Algorithms to make new rules and modify rules when performance of the system needs to be improved.

  • Recently, machine olfactory systems as an artificial substitute of the human olfactory system are being studied actively because they can scent dangerous gases and identify the type of gases in contamination areas instead of the human. In this paper, we present an effective design method for the gas identification system. Even though dimensionality reduction is the very important part, in pattern analysis, We handled effectively the dimensionality reduction by grouping the sensors of which the measured patterns are similar each other, where genetic algorithms were used for combination optimization. To identify the gas type, we constructed the hierarchical rule base with two frames by using rough set theory. The first frame is to accept measurement characteristics of each sensor and the other one is to reflect the identification patterns of each group. Thus, the proposed methods was able to accomplish effectively dimensionality reduction as well as accurate gas identification. In simulation, we demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed methods by identifying five types of gases.

  • The event sequence of the same type from a set of events having time property can be summarized in one event. But if the event sequence having an interval, It is reasonable to be summarized more than one in independent sub event sequence of each other. In this paper, we suggest a method of temporal data mining that summarizes the interval events based on Allen's interval algebra and finds out interval event association rule from interval events. It provides better knowledge than others by using concept of an independent sub sequence and finding interval event association rules.

  • A identification algorithm that finds optimal fuzzy membership functions and rule base to fuzzy model isproposed and a fuzzy controller is designed to get more accurate position and velocity control of wheeled mobile robot. This procedure that is composed of three steps has its own unique process at each step. The elements of output term set are increased at first step and then the rule base is varied according to increase of the elements. The adjusted system is in competition with system which doesn't include any increased elements. The adjusted system will be removed if the system lost. Otherwise, the control system is replaced with the adjusted system. After finished regulation of output term set and rule base, searching for input membership functions is processed with constraints and fine tuning of output membership functions is done.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the revision of the western-styled court costume in the Daehan Empire. For this purpose, 1) historical documents were reviewed, 2) one set of the court costume of Chigimgwan and another set of the court costume of Juimgwan were probed, 3) the photos of people wearing court costume were analyzed. The results of this study are as follows. First, the $14^{th}$ Imperial order of "official costume statute" had been revised in 1904, 1905 and 1907 through official gazettes. The last version of official costume statute enacted the more detail than the first rule. Second, the $15^{th}$ Imperial order of "official costume rules" had been revised in 1904, 1905, and transformed into official costume rules reform on $12^{th}$ Dec., 1906. The revision in 1905 made gold embroidery of court costume more simple than the first rule. The form of court costume was totally revised by change of the shape of adjusting on the top in the revised rule of 1906. Third, the revision in 1905 was actually manufactured and worn by the people because it can be confirmed in the relics of the court costume of $2^{nd}$ Chigimgwan in Yonsei University Museum, and the court costume of juimgwan in Kwangju Municipal Folk Museum. The relics made by the revision in 1906 had not been reported until now, but they can be confirmed in the photos left. Fourth, the sovereignity of the Daehan Empire was actually lost by $22^{th}$ Imperial family order which urged the servant having the title of nobility of Japan to wear the court costume of Japan. Therefore, the endeavor of the Daehan Empire which wanted to establish and develop the costume system of modern independent nation was discontinued.

  • In this paper, we propose a prototype-based classification learning by using the nearest-neighbor rule. The nearest-neighbor is applied to segment the class area of all the training data into spheres within which the data exist from the same class. Prototypes are the center of spheres and their radii are computed by the mid-point of the two distances to the farthest same class point and the nearest another class point. And we transform the prototype selection problem into a set covering problem in order to determine the smallest set of prototypes that include all the training data. The proposed prototype selection method is based on a greedy algorithm that is applicable to the training data per class. The complexity of the proposed method is not complicated and the possibility of its parallel implementation is high. The prototype-based classification learning takes up the set of prototypes and predicts the class of test data by the nearest neighbor rule. In experiments, the generalization performance of our prototype classifier is superior to those of the nearest neighbor, Bayes classifier, and another prototype classifier.

  • The Japanese colonial authorities promulgated the 'Nurses Ordinance(Kanhoboo Kyuchick), in 1914. It was the first act that regulated nurses' licensure in Korea. The gendarme did the administrational work of the ordinance. After the Nurses Ordinance of 1914, nurses without licenses could no longer work with the name of nurse, and Korean nursing gained a more professional status. After the March 1st Movement of 1919, Japan realized that its iron rule had to be more sophisticated. The gendarme gave way to an ordinary constabulary force. The Nurses Ordinance was amended to set the nurses quality as good as that of Japanese nurses, and the nurses licensure of Korea could also be used in Japan. In 1931 the Japanese war against China began, and the Japanese imposed military rule once again. The Nurses Ordinance was amended to 'The Korea Nurses Ordinance'. After the outbreak of the Sino-Japanese War(1937) and of World War II in the Pacific(1941), the Japanese desperately needed additional manpower to re plenish the dwindling ranks of their military and labour forces. To produce more nurses, the colonial authorities amended the 'Korea Nurses Ordinance' and lowered the age and educational status of nurses to produce more numbers. Until the Japanese surrender in August 1945, Korea was under Japanese rule. Koreans had no say in the passing of these acts, and the colonial authority could make and pass any act at will.

  • By Wikipedia, data mining is the process of discovering patterns in a big data set involving methods at the intersection of association rule, decision tree, clustering, artificial intelligence, machine learning. and database systems. Association rule is a method for discovering interesting relations between items in large transactions by interestingness measures. Association rule interestingness measures play a major role within a knowledge discovery process in databases, and have been developed by many researchers. Among them, the Hellinger measure is a good association threshold considering the information content and the generality of a rule. But it has the drawback that it can not determine the direction of the association. In this paper we proposed a signed Hellinger measure to be able to interpret operationally, and we checked three conditions of association threshold. Furthermore, we investigated some aspects through a few examples. The results showed that the signed Hellinger measure was better than the Hellinger measure because the signed one was able to estimate the right direction of association.

  • In a global economy where, private parties increasingly favour arbitration over litigation, many foreigners are unfortunately reluctant to arbitration with China's parties because the China national courts do not scrutinize the merits when deciding whether to recognize and enforce foreign awards. As a result, the finality of arbitral awards hangs in uncertainty. Overseas concern is that China's courts may abuse "Public Policy" grounds provided for in the New York Convention to set aside or refuse to enforce foreign awards. The purpose of this article is to examine the distrust to enforcement of arbitral awards whether that is just an assumption. In spite of the modernize and internationalize her international arbitration system and many reforms provided in the related law and rules, the most vexing leftover issues are caused of the lack of "rule of law" in China. This situation imply the risk of pervert 'Public Policy' as the ground for refusing enforcement of arbitral awards. Some cases reflect the fear. But it is unclear whether those cases caused from the lack of "rule of law" in China. Same uncertainty present between Hon Kong-China under th one country-two legal system after the return of Hong Kong to China on 1 July 1997. While China is striving to improve its enforcement mechanism in regard to the enforcement of arbitral awards, it can only be expect following the establishment of rule of law in the future.
