Complementary trees are two spanning trees rooted at the sink node satisfying that any source node's two paths to the sink node on the two trees are node-disjoint. Complementary trees routing strategy is a special node-disjoint multi-path routing approach. Several complementary trees routing algorithms have been proposed, in which path discovery methods based on depth first search (DFS) or Dijkstra's algorithm are used to find a path for augmentation in each round of path augmentation step. In this paper, a novel path discovery method based on multi-tree-growing (MTG) is presented for the first time to our knowledge. Based on this path discovery method, a complementary trees routing algorithm is developed with objectives of low average path length on both spanning trees and low complexity. Measures are employed in our complementary trees routing algorithm to add a path with nodes near to the sink node in each round of path augmentation step. The simulation results demonstrate that our complementary trees routing algorithm can achieve low average path length on both spanning trees with low running time, suitable for wireless sensor networks in industrial scenarios.

본 논문은 single path로 구성되는 AODV 프로토콜의 route failures시 문제점을 보완한 Associativity Based Redundancy path Routing(ABRR) 및 Alternate Redundancy path Routing(ARR) schemes을 제안한다. 첫째, ABRR은 main path상에 있는 각 노드들은 associativity based stable node 정보를 이용하여 path broken 이전에 local redundancy path을 구성하여 path broken시 local routing없이 route을 복구할 수 있게 하고 둘째, ARR은 sourceinitialed route discovery에 의해 alternate path을 구성하여 ABRR 그리고 local routing에 의해 main route recovery 실패 시 alternate path을 main path로 전환하여 control traffic overhead 및 전송 delay을 줄이게 한다.
In MANET(Mobile Ad-hoc Network), unlike in wired networks, a path configuration should be in advance of data transmission along a routing path. Frequent movement of mobile nodes, however, makes it difficult to maintain the configured path and requires re-configuration of the path very often. It may also leads to serious problems such as deterioration of QoS in mobile ad-hoc networks. In this paper, we proposed a Reactive Routing Keyword (RRK) routing procedure to solve those problems. Firstly, we noticed it is possible in RRK routing to assign multiple routing paths to the destination node. We applied this feature into active networks and SNMP information based routing by storing unique keywords in cache of mobile nodes corresponding to present and candidate routings in a path configuration procedure. It was shown that the deterioration of QoS which may observed in Dynamic Source Routing(DSR) protocol was greatly mitigated by using the proposed routing technique.

Routing in ATM network is set up by combination of both virtual path routing and virtual channel routing. While virtual channel is similar concept to virtual circuit of data networks, virtual path is a special concept which is not used in traditional data networks. Virtual path can rearrange in structure and size by simply changing virtual path routing tables and giving the network the capability to eash allocate network resources according to the demand needs. This paper provides reconfiguration models of virtual path network which give the bandwidth of link and the routing path for each traffic class. The reconfiguration models are network optimization problems of multicommodity network flow type. The numerical examples are also included.

This paper proposes the routing path selection mechanism for source routing-based PtMP (Point-to-Multipoint) call in ATM switching system. Especially, it suggests PtMP routing path selection method that can share the maximum resource prior to the optimal path selection, guarantee the reduction of path calculation time and cycle prevention. The searching for the nearest branch point from destination node to make the maximum share of resource is the purpose of this algorithm. Therefore among neighbor nodes from destination node by back-tracking, this algorithm fixes the node crossing first the node on existing path having the same Call ID as branch node, constructs the optimal PtMP routing path. The optimal node to be selected by back-tracking is selected by the use of Dijkstra algorithm. That is to say, PtMP routing path selection performs the step of cross node selection among neighboring nodes by back-tracking and the step of optimal node selection(optimal path calculation) among neighboring nodes by back-tracking. This technique reduces the process of search of routing information table for path selection and path calculation, also solves the cycle prevention easily during path establishment.

RIP, EIGRP, OSPF are the interior gateway protocol for sending and receiving routing information among routers in AS(Autonomous System). Various path selection methods using the metric in regard to them have been studied recently but there are few examples that the contents learners understand theoretically are verified by the practice. The Best Path is determined by calculating the Cost value based on the relevant topology of each routing protocol. After implementing the virtual network, it is certain that the results tracking and verifying the relevant path selection of each routing protocol are consistent with the Best Path. If methods suggested in this paper are applied properly, the relevant path selection process of routing protocol can be understood systematically. And it is expected that the outstanding results of learning will be able to be achieved.

In most cases, the routing policy of networks shows a preference for a static one-to-one mapping of communication pairs to routing paths, which offers adversaries a great advantage to conduct thorough reconnaissance and organize an effective attack in a stress-free manner. With the evolution of network intelligence, some flexible and adaptive routing policies have already proposed to intensify the network defender to turn the situation. Routing mutation is an effective strategy that can invalidate the unvarying nature of routing information that attackers have collected from exploiting the static configuration of the network. However, three constraints execute press on routing mutation deployment in practical: insufficient route mutation space, expensive control costs, and incompatibility. To enhance the availability of route mutation, we propose an OpenFlow-based route mutation technique called Polymorphic Path Transferring (PPT), which adopts a physical and virtual path segment mixed construction technique to enlarge the routing path space for elevating the security of communication. Based on the Markov Decision Process, with considering flows distribution in the network, the PPT adopts an evolution routing path scheduling algorithm with a segment path update strategy, which relieves the press on the overhead of control and incompatibility. Our analysis demonstrates that PPT can secure data delivery in the worst network environment while countering sophisticated attacks in an evasion-free manner (e.g., advanced persistent threat). Case study and experiment results show its effectiveness in proactively defending against targeted attacks and its advantage compared with previous route mutation methods.

In this paper, we propose two new routing schemes for double-layered peer-to-peer systems; a shorter-lower mobility routing scheme and a reverse path routing scheme. The shorter-lower mobility routing scheme first chooses shortest routing paths among possible routing paths and selects the path associated with the relay peer who has lower mobility to improve the reliability of the system. The reverse path routing scheme carries out unicasting (instead of multicasting) based on the reverse path information that can be obtained during the initial file search to further reduce network traffic. The experimental results showed that a double-layered peer-topeer system with the proposed hybrid scheme improved the reliability of the system about 1.5% over the hop count scheme and reduced network traffic by about 0.5% compared to the hop count scheme.
In large networks, maintaining precise global network state information is impossible. The imprecise network state information has significant impacts on Quality-of-Service(QoS) routing and path establishment. In this paper, we develop analytical models for investigating the QoS routing schemes that are designed to tolerate imprecise network state information, and study the performance of various QoS routing schemes, including randomized routing, multi-path routing, and probability based routing, using both the models and simulations. We further propose a new mechanism, called local rerouting, that improves the effectiveness of QoS path establishment in the presence of imprecise global network state information. Local rerouting is orthogonal to existing schemes for dealing with imprecise state information and can be used in conjunction with them to alleviate the impacts of the imprecise information. The results of our performance study indicate that local rerouting is robust and effective.

Routing paths are mightily important for the network security in WSNs. To maintain such routing paths, sustained path re-selection and path management are needed. Region segmentation based path selection method (RSPSM) provides a path selection method that a sensor network is divided into several subregions, so that the regional path selection and path management are available. Therefore, RSPSM can reduce energy consumption when the path re-selection process is executed. However, it is hard to guarantee optimized secure routing path at all times since the information using the path re-selection process is limited in scope. In this paper, we propose partial path selection method in each subregion using preselected partial paths made by RSPSM for routing path optimization in SEF based sensor networks. In the proposed method, the base station collects the information of the all partial paths from every subregion and then, evaluates all the candidates that can be the optimized routing path for each node using a evaluation function. After the evaluation process is done, the result is sent to each super DN using the global routing path information (GPI) message. Thus, each super DN provides the optimized secure routing paths using the GPI. We show the effectiveness of the proposed method via the simulation results. We expect that our method can be useful for the improvement of RSPSM.
