  • This paper informs the standard guideline of electrical inspection for the University laboratories and R&D institutes. A routine electrical inspection is there to prevent an electric shock and electrical fire accident in the Lab. The main issue of this paper is to check the problem of a routine electrical inspection and this paper provides a detailed guideline of a checklist for the Lab which do not have detailed instruction. It mentions the standard model of an effective routine inspection to upgrade the weak electrical environment in the Lab. One of the main purposes of this paper is to develop a routine checklist to control the electrical environment in the Lab. The evaluation checklist we develop will then be applied to every Lab. Introducing an electrical safety checklist builds a clear standard guideline for a real safety check. This will be used as a regular routine check-up for every Lab. The goal of this paper is to enforce safety from electrical accidents in the lab and it will provide safety guidelines for every Lab.

  • The object of this study is to determine checklists of agriculture reservoirs which local government managed at routine inspection by Analysis Hierarchy Process (AHP). Suggest definition of agriculture reservoirs and distinguish type of destruction of reservoirs through the analysis of domestic reservoirs or overseas. Draw damage factors of reservoirs from survey on specific area. Combine type of destruction and damage factors of reservoirs for decision of evaluation type of reservoirs. Then, determine optimized routine inspection checklists for agriculture reservoirs and reservoirs by means of AHP considering a weighting.

  • Due to the aging, advancement, and complexity of chemical facilities, non-routine work such as facility inspection, repair, or maintenance work is increasing. Of the 1,483 accidents that occurred over the past 10 years at chemical product manufacturing sites subject to PSM, accidents that occurred during non-routine work accounted for 56% (932 Cases) of the total. It can be seen that more accidents occur during non-routine work than during routine work. In particular, in order to improve the economy and efficiency of factory operation, there are cases where some facilities are stopped without stopping the entire factory and then inspection, repair, or maintenance work is performed while isolated from the operating facilities. Therefore, first, a safe isolation method must be selected by establishing an isolation standard (Baseline Isolation Standard) based on the chemicals handled, operating conditions, and risk level of the equipment in the chemical plant. Second, since current domestic laws and standards do not suggest the need for specific quarantine standards, it is necessary to institutionalize the preparation of quarantine standards. Technical and institutional improvements are needed to prevent fires, explosions, and poisoning accidents caused by leaks of chemical substances.

  • The present study proposed three inspection reliability indices which compared inspection results evaluated at in-depth(routine) inspection and in-depth safety inspection; Nominal inspection reliability index, Real inspection reliability index, and DS nominal inspection reliability index. The methods to improve the inspection reliability were also proposed. Since bridge inspection process is critical to ensuring the safety of bridges and identifying repair and maintenance needs, the quality of the inspection data produced from the inspection process is very important. Consequently, the inspection reliability indices were suggested to evaluate quality of current inspection practices. Specifically, approximately 85% of inspection errors evaluated by the DS nominal inspection reliability index are within 1 rating grade(equal to or less than damage score ${\pm}0.1$). In order to improve the inspection reliability, transportation agency should implement QC(Quality Control) practices and develop professional expertises of inspectors by higher requirements for inspectors, on-off line inspection training and etc.

  • Most structures experience deterioration after construction. A routine inspection and maintenance must be accomplished for the efficient use of the structures. The routine inspection will play a major role on the determination of maintenance period and method. This study aims development of an automated tunnel inspection system based upon a 3 dimensional laser scanner. As for the initial stage of the project, a prototype tunnel scanner has been developed. The development of a tunnel scanner prototype follows comparison between image scanning and laser scanning system and investigation on the applicability and adaptivity of the scanners to the railway tunnel scanner. The applicability of the laser scanner on the railway tunnel has been confirmed from the pilot test by using commercialized general purpose close range laser scanner and applicability of a laser scanner as a railway tunnel scanner has been checked. From the result, a prototype of railway tunnel scanner has been built and the calibration of the system was carried out. Finally the developed tunnel laser scanner has been applied to different shapes and sizes of tunnels in use.

  • Borescopes facilitate the inspection of areas inside machines and systems that are not directly accessible for visual inspection. They offer real-time, up-close access to confined and hard-to-access spaces without having to dismantle or destructure the object under inspection. Borescopes are ideal instruments for routine maintenance, quality inspection and monitoring of systems and structures. The main application being fault or defect detection, it is useful to have measuring capability to quantify object dimensions in a target area. High-end borescopes use multi-optic solutions to provide measurement information of viewed objects. Multi-optic solutions can provide accurate measurements at the expense of structural complexity and cost increase. Measuring functionality is often unavailable in low-end, single camera borescopes. In this paper, a single camera measurement solution that enables the size estimation of viewed objects is proposed. The proposed solution computes and overlays a scaled grid of known spacing value over the screen view, enabling the human inspector to estimate the size of the objects in view. The proposed method provides a simple means of measurement that is applicable to low-end borescopes with no built-in measurement capability.

  • The breeding of domestic rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) for human consumption has a long tradition in China. Infections that can affect the production of meat or even be transmitted from animals to humans are important to monitor, especially for public health reasons as well as for their impact on animal health. Thus, a total of 1,132 domestic rabbit sera from 4 regions in China were collected for serological screening for Encephalitozoon cuniculi and for Toxoplasma gondii by ELISA and modified agglutination test (MAT), respectively. Antibodies to E. cuniculi were detected in 248/1,132 (21.9%) sera tested while antibodies against T. gondii revealed a seroprevalence of 51/1,132 (4.5%). We believe that the present results are of epidemiological implications and public health importance due to the acknowledged susceptibility of humans to E. cuniculi and T. gondii infections. Therefore, routine screening tests of domestic rabbits are proposed considering the zoonotic potential of these parasites.

  • Purpose: Clinical laboratory in hospital has taken a great role in protection of chronic disease. as well as diagnosis and treatment, And laboratory layout has been considered by the management and laboratory section more than the function and workflow. Methods: So this study figures out the workflows of laboratory sections in the recently upgraded Laboratory Medicine, and searches the functional relationships and spatial block diagram between each disciplines as follows. Literature review and expert adviser has been conducted. Results: 1) Laboratory type of Laboratory Medicine is divided into routine and specialized laboratory according to the workflow by automated or specialized test. 2) The general workflow consists of specimen collection, specimen classification, test by discipline, test report, and specimen disposal. 3) Though the function of each laboratory section is very complicated and specific, the characteristics and the workflow can be shown in detail by each lab through [Figure 4], [Figure 5], [Figure 6], [Figure 7], and [Figure 8]. 4) Functional relationship diagram can be displayed to the adjacency and relation between each laboratory and support spaces. 5) The spatial block diagram could be presented as shown in [Figure 10], in which the emergency lab lay in front side, routine lab in the central open area, and specialized lab in the behind side. Implications: This study can be used as a useful data in planning and designing a Laboratory Medicine Department.

  • During a routine inspection of a large pump motor at power plant, white powder was found on the surface of the stator end windings. Visual inspection and high voltage insulation diagnosis was performed to determine whether this motor is available. The purpose of this paper is to understand the insulation properties of white powder found on high voltage stator and to know prevention of insulation weakness.
