  • Due to the rapid development of IoT(Internet of Things) technology, traditional taxis are connected through dispatchers and location systems. Typically, modern taxis have embedded with GPS(Global Positioning System), which aims for obtaining the route information. By analyzing the frequency of taxi trip events, we can find the frequent route for a given query time. However, a scalability problem would occur when we convert the raw location data of taxi trip events into the analyzed frequency information due to the volume of location data. For this problem, we propose a NoSQL based top-K query system for taxi trip events. First, we analyze raw taxi trip events and extract frequencies of all routes. Then, we store the frequency information into hash-based index structure of MongoDB which is a document-oriented NoSQL database. Efficient top-K query processing for frequent route is done with the top of the MongoDB. We validate the efficiency of our algorithms by using real taxi trip events of New York City.

  • This study suggests PSO(Particle Swarm Optimization) algorithm that optimizes the snowplow route allocation and the location of the snow control material storage to improve the efficiency in snow removal works. The modified PSO algorithm for improving the search capacity is proposed, and this study suggests the solution representation, the parameter setting, and the fitness function for the given optimization problems. Computational experiments in real-world case are carried out to justify the proposed method and compared with the traditional PSO algorithms. The results show that the proposed algorithms can find the better solution than the traditional PSO algorithms by searching for the wider solution space without falling into the local optima. The finding of this study is efficiently employed to solve the optimization of the snowplow route allocation by minimizing the workload of each snowplow to search the location of the snow control material storage as well.

  • Many routing algorithms, proposed for ad-hoc wireless networks, we based on source routing scheme and shortest path route has short lifetime especially in highly dense ad-hoc wireless networks. So some routing protocols such as SSA and ABR are considering the link stability and try finding more stable route. In this paper we propose a new routing algorithm considering utilization metric based on SSA routing algerian in Ad-Hoc networks. To reduce the bottleneck by specific metric of SSA, proposed scheme makes load balancing in networks by distributing the connections to several routes. For the evaluation of the performance we compare our scheme with existent routing protocol AODV and SSA. And the results, obtained using the ns-2 network simulation platform, show good performance that reduced the number of reconstructions remarkably by distributing the whole traffic to several routes when there are several stable routes.

  • Given a starting point, destination point and various Points Of Interest (POIs), which contain a full or partial order, for a user to visit we wish to create, a sequenced route from the starting point to the destination point that includes one member of each POI type in a particular order. This paper proposes a method for finding the approximate shortest route between the start point, destination point and one member of each POI type. There are currently two algorithms that perform this task but they both have weaknesses. One of the algorithms only considers the distance between the visited POI (or starting point) and POI to visit next. The other algorithm chooses candidate points near the straight-line distance between the start point and destination but does not consider the order of visits on the corresponding network path. This paper outlines an algorithm that chooses the candidate points that are nearer to the network path between the start point and destination using network search. The algorithm looks for routes using the candidate points and finds the approximate shortest route by assigning an adaptive priority to the route that visits more POIs in a short amount of time.

  • 3D based information is demanded increasingly as cities grow three dimensionally and buildings become large and complex. The use of 3D GIS is also getting attention as fundamental data for ubiquitous computing applications such as location-based guidance, path finding and emergency escaping. However, most 3D modeling techniques are focused on the visualization of buildings or terrains and do not have topological structures required in spatial analyses. In this paper, we introduce a method to incorporate topological relationship into 3D models by combining 2D GIS layers and 3D model. We divide indoor spaces of a 3D model into discrete objects and then define the relationship with corresponding features in 2D GIS layers through database records. We also show how to construct hallways network in the 2D-3D integrated building model. Finally, we test different cases of route finding situations inside a building such as normal origin-destination path finding and emergency evacuation.

  • It is widely known that the dynamic optimal path algorithm, adopting real-time path finding, can be supporting an optimal route with which users are satisfied economically and accurately. However, this system has to search optimal routes frequently for updating them. The proposed concept of optimizing search area lets it reach heuristic optimal path rapidly and efficiently. Since optimal path should be increased in proportion to an distance between origin and destination, tremendous calculating time and highly efficient computers are required for searching long distance journey. In this paper, as a result of which the concepts of partial solution and representative path are suggested. It was possible to find an optimal route by decreasing a half area in comparison with the previous method. Furthermore, as the size of the searching area is uniform, comparatively low efficient computer is required for long distance trip.

  • Service discovery is the technology of finding needed services in networks, and a key point in pervasive computing environments. This paper presents a novel service discovery protocol: ASESDP(AIP and SRR Enhanced Service Discovery Protocol). In ASESDP, tow schemes are proposed to enhance its performance: AIP(Advertisement Information Piggybacked) and SRR(Shortest Reply Route). In AIP, parts of advertisement information are piggybacked in the service reply packet, which makes the advertisement information propagating along the reply path, and spreads its transmission area. In SRR, in order to reduce the service response time, the shortest reply route is chosen to forward the service reply packet to the source node sending the service request. With the theoretical analysis and Glomosim simulation results, it is verified that ASESDP can reduce the number of service request packets, save the response time, and improve the efficiency of service discovery.

  • A* algorithm is widely used in optimal car route search which is a kind of informed search, since the locations of starting and ending points are known a priori. Unidirectional A* algorithm requires considerable search time but guarantees a optimal path, bidirectional A* algorithm does not guarantee a optimal path and takes even longer search time than unidirectional search to guarantee a optimal path. In this paper, a new bidirectional A* algorithm which requites less search time and guarantees a optimal path is proposed. To evaluate the efficiency of the proposed algorithm, several experiments are conducted in real road map and the results show that the algorithm is very effective in terms of finding a optimal path and search time.

  • An interest-based P2P constructs the peer connections based on similarities for efficient search of resources. A clustering technique using peer similarities as data is an effective approach to group the most relevant peers. However, the separation of groups produced from clustering lowers the scalability of a P2P network. Moreover, the interest-based approach is only concerned with user-level grouping where topology-awareness on the physical network is not considered. This paper proposes an efficient scalable search for the interest-based P2P system. A scalable multi-ring (SMR) based on fuzzy clustering handles the grouping of relevant peers and the proposed scalable search utilizes the SMR for scalability of peer queries. In forming the multi-ring, a minimized route function is used to determine the shortest route to connect peers on the physical network. Performance evaluation showed that the SMR acquired an accurate peer grouping and improved the connectivity rate of the P2P network. Also, the proposed scalable search was efficient in finding more replicated files throughout the peer network compared to other traditional P2P approaches.
