액체로켓 터보펌프의 임계 속도 해석 (Critical Speed Analysis of the Liquid Rocket Turbopump)

  • 30톤 추력급 터보펌프에 대한 회전체 동역학 해석이 수행되었다. 연료펌프와 터빈에 의해서 유발되는 공력 및 수력 하중이 볼 베어링과 비접촉식 실의 강성 및 감쇠 예측을 위하여 고려되었다. 임계 속도의 분리 안전 여유와 회전체 부품의 팁 변위를 예측하기 위하여 임계 속도 해석과 질량 불평형 응답 해석이 수행되었다. 정확한 해석을 위하여 3차원 유한요소법을 사용하였고 1차원 전달함수 행렬법의 결과와 비교하였다. 탄성 링을 추가적으로 장착함으로써 베어링 지지부의 강성 제어를 통하여 충분한 공진 분리 여유의 확보가 가능함을 확인하였다.

  • There are many types of speed reducer for industrial uses. However the cycloid speed reducer is widely used in manipulators based on excellent performance of low backlash, high reduction ratio and compact size. It is essential to use precision speed reducer for accuracy of position controls on robot systems and electric vehicles. The cycloid speed reducer has a eccentric rotating motion and offset to avoid some problem of assembly, so it has a disadvantage for vibration. In this paper, a multi-body dynamic model is developed for a cycloid speed reducer and the dynamic behaviors of the reducer are investigated. The cycloid speed reducer consists of cycloidal plate gears, housing gear, input shaft, output pin and shaft, and eccentric bearings. Using a CAD program, each component of cycloid reducer is modeled based on the offset and eccentric. Multi-body simulations using Recurdyn and test using a rig tester are performed. As a result, the pin reaction force and the amplitude of housing displacement are increased by the larger offset and smaller eccentric value of cycloid reducer.

플럭스 펌프 적용을 위한 대용량 초전도 풍력발전기 파라미터 튜닝 (Parameter tuning of a large-scale superconducting wind power generator for applying a flux pump)

  • A flux pump (FP) can inject the DC current into high temperature superconducting (HTS) field coils of a HTS rotating machine without slip ring and current lead. However, it has limits to improve the value of DC current, and has time constants of DC current according to inductances of the HTS field coils. When a large-scale HTS generator with the FP is designed, a proper point about the inductance, field current, and time constant is demanded to decide parameters of the generator. In this paper, a parameter tuning skill of a large-scale superconducting wind power generator for applying a FP has been proposed. The design of the FP has been fixed, and 12 MW HTS generators have been variously designed by adjusting parameters related with the inductance of the HTS field coil. The induced current values have been calculated based on the FP design. The time constants of the induced currents depending on the DC current values and inductances of the generator have been represented. The results of the parameter tuning of the HTS generator have been discussed in detail.

대형마찰용접을 이용한 로타샤프트 제조공정개발 (Development of Rotor Shaft Manufacturing Process using a Large Friction Welding)

  • Inertia welding is a solid-state welding process in which butt welds in materials are made in bar and in ring form at the joint face, and energy required for welding is obtained from a rotating flywheel. The stored energy is converted to frictional heat at the interface under axial load. The quality of the welded joint depends on many parameters, including axial force, initial revolution speed and energy, amount of upset, working time, and residual stresses in the joint. Inertia welding was conducted to make the large rotor shaft for low speed marine diesel engine, alloy steel for shaft of 140mm. Due to material characteristics, such as, thermal conductivity and high temperature flow stress, on the two sides of the weld interface, modeling is crucial in determining the optimal weld parameters. FE simulation is performed by the commercial code DEFORM-2D. A good agreement between the predicted and actual welded shape is observed. It is expected that modeling will significantly reduce the number of experimental trials needed to determine the weld parameters.

  • It is known that ball bearings mounted in housing or on shaft are playing a key role to keep it running smoothly. The roundness of a housing bore on which bearing outer ring is mounted with interference has directly affected the running accuracy of bearing. The running accuracy of bearing, therefore, can extend the significant influence to the rotating machinery as well. In this paper, bearing's vibration and fatigue life considering raceway roundness of ball bearing before and after mounted in housing bore are theoretically estimated. To perform analysis, a simple three degrees of freedom model was proposed and then Newton-Raphson iterative method was introduced to be utilized in the analysis. The results show that the vibration magnitude of ball bearing fitted into housing unit is appeared considerably larger than the one of its pre-assembling. And theoretical $L_{10}$ life which ninety percent of the bearing population will endure decreased in about fifty percent.

Electrochemical Study of [Ni63-Se)2μ4-Se)3(dppf)3] Cluster and Its Catalytic Activity towards the Electrochemical Reduction of Carbon Dioxide

  • The redox behavior of a [Ni6(μ3-Se)2(μ4-Se)3(Fe(η 5-C5H4P-Ph2)2)3] (= [Ni-Se-dppf], dppf = 1,1-bis(diphenylphosphino) ferrocene) cluster was studied using platinum (Pt) and glassy carbon electrodes (GCE) in nonaqueous media. The cluster showed electrochemical activity at the potential range between +1.6 and ?1.6 V. In the negative region (0 to ?1.6 V), the cluster exhibited two-step reductions. The first step was one-electron reversible, while the second step was a five-electron quasi-reversible process. On the other hand, in the positive region (0 to +1.6 V), the first step involved one-electron quasi-reversible process. The applicability of the cluster was found towards the electrocatalytic reduction of CO2 and was evaluated by experiments using rotating ring disc electrode (RRDE). RRDE experiments demonstrated that two electrons were involved in the electrocatalytic reduction of CO2 to CO at the Se-Ni-dppf-modified electrode.

  • A vehicle's differential gear is a device designed to allow the vehicle's outer wheels to turn faster than the inner wheels when turning on a curve. The differential gear case is the main component of the differential gear system, which is composed of ring gear, pinion gear and side gear, and is fastened by pinion shaft pins. The differential gear case rotates when the vehicle is running, so balancing calibration is very important. In this study, a balancing machine that can diagnose and correct the differential gear case and mass imbalance of various rotating bodies was designed. The differential gear case was rotated at high speed to accurately diagnose the location and value of the unbalanced mass, and it was designed to be balanced and corrected by removing the unbalanced mass by drilling. After calibration, it was confirmed that the unbalanced value of all the measured samples was reduced to less than 180g.mm, and the unbalance reduction ratio was improved to 60~70%.

Quantum-chemical Study of Effects of Alkoxy Substitution on the Conformations and Electronic Properties of Poly(p-phenylenevinylenes)

  • We have performed a quantum-chemical investigation on the conformations and electronic properties of a variety of methoxy-substituted poly(p-phenylenevinylenes) (PPVs) to elucidate the effects of alkoxy substitution. Geometrical parameters for the polymers were fully optimized through Austin Model I (AM I) semi-empirical Hartree-Fock (HF) band calculations. Electronic properties of the polymers were obtained by applying the AM I optimized structures to the modified extended Huckel method. To confirm validity of the AM I conformational results, we also carried out ab initio HF calculations with the 6-31G (d) basis set for a variety of methoxy-substituted divinylbenzenes. It is found that the potential energy surfaces of alkoxy-substituted PPVs are quite shallow around the planar conformations, suggesting that the prepared films possess a variety of conformations with different torsion angle in the solid state, depending on the synthetic conditions. When two alkoxy groups are concurrently substituted at the adjacent sites in the phenylene ring, these groups are subject to rotating around the C(sp2)-O bonds by 70-80° to avoid the strong steric repulsion between them. Consequently, the overlap between the π-type p orbital of oxygen and the π molecular orbitals of the polymer decreases. This leads to a wide gap and a high oxidation potential for tetramethoxy-substituted PPV, compared to those of dialkoxy-substituted PPV.

이동형 전파측정시스템에서 슬립링을 적용한 방향탐지 안테나 마스트 회전 방법에 관한 연구 (A Study on Rotation Method Appling Slip-ring of Direction Finding Antenna Mast for Mobile Radio Wave Measurement System)

  • 이동형 전파측정시스템은 차량 탑재형으로, 단독임무수행이 가능하도록 설계되었다. 이동측정의 업무 특성상 기동성 확보가 필요하며, 이를 위해서는 안테나의 배치와 매립 방법에 대해 고려할 필요가 있다. 본 논문에서는 이동형 전파측정시스템의 방향탐지 정확도 측정방법개선을 위한 설계를 소개한다. 서보모터(Servo Motor)와 슬립링(Slip-Ring)을 활용하여 방향탐지안테나 마스트를 자체적으로 360도 회전하는 방법에 대해 분석하였고, 기동성과 내구성을 고려했을 때 슬립링을 활용하여 마스트를 회전시키는 방법으로 설계하였다. 이러한 설계를 통해 방향탐지 정확도 측정방법에서 턴테이블(Turn-Table)이 필요 없게 되어 지역적 의존성을 제거하였다. 즉, 전파무반사환경을 충족하는 챔버나, EUT를 공중에 매달리게 만든 후 시험을 수행할 필요가 없어지게 된다. 또한 턴테이블상의 피실험체의 영점조정 및 피실험체의 마운트 절차가 단축되어 생산성의 향상을 꾀할 수 있다. 내구성 강화를 위해 RF케이블 조립체를 마스트 내부로 포선하는 방법을 사용하였고, 설계내용에 따라 RF케이블의 길이가 짧아지는 효과로 인해 케이블 손실의 개선효과를 볼 수 있다. 또한 같은 현상으로 인해 시스템 전체의 무게가 줄어들어 기동성의 향상도 꾀할 수 있다.
