Development of Transmission Pricing Package Based on Unified Modeling Language (UML 기반의 송전요금계산 패키지 개발)

  • This paper presents an application of Unified Modeling Language(UML) software technique for developing transmission pricing evaluation package. Also, this paper describes a transmission pricing algorithm applicable to a large-scale power system. The usage-based transmission pricing mechanism is very complex since it requires power flow analysis, fault current analysis, sensitivity evaluation of a transmission line, penalty factors calculation, transmission asset databases, and cost allocation rules, etc. For the efficient and flexible development of the transmission pricing package, a UML. approach is applied, which is composed of a use-case diagram, interaction diagram, class diagram, and package diagram using Rational Rose Unified Process(RUP). The designed transmission pricing package can be efficiently modified and reused as the market environments evolves since it is designed by Object-Oriented Programming(OOP).

  • Currently there are numerous papers in which many new kinds of customizing stereotypes by UML extension mechanism for different application environments such as real-time system, Geographic Information System (GIS) and so on are proposed. However , these stereotypes that represent different type model elements such as class, association, generalization and so on have not yet been seen in one of the most popular visual modeling tool for software development, Rational Rose. Therefore, in this paper, a design of extended iconic stereotype for GNSS application in the UML class diagram and its implementation as a tool of StereotypeCreator for Rational Rose will be presented.

Rip Current Sensitive Analysis Using Rose Diagram for Wave-Induced Current Vectors at Haeundae Beach, Korea (해빈류 벡터 장미도를 통한 해운대 해수욕장의 이안류 민감도 분석)

  • Rip current forecasts, based on intensity, are marked in four levels—notice, watch, warning, and danger. However, numerical results are represented by current vectors, whose magnitudes are then converted into predictive levels. In the present study, the rose diagram is adapted as a determinative forecasting index and examined for the case of an ideal rip channel consisting of surface, bottom, and averaged currents. Further, it is employed in the sensitivity analysis of wave-induced currents generated by wave conditions at the Haeundae Beach. The simulation of surface onshore and bottom undertow currents is accomplished by including a mass flux term in the wave-averaged continuity equation.

  • This paper presents a methodology for the application of Unified Modeling Language (UML) to develop the new load management system. Development of new load management system in competitive electricity market is very complex since it requires too much data of power system. For the efficient and flexible design to develop of new load management system, a UML approach in applied which is composed of a class diagram, package diagram using Rational Rose Unified Process.

  • Wavelet approach is regarded as a useful methodology for geo-environment analysis with respect to spatial objects with periodicity and spatial pattern, compared to autocorrelation analysis, Fourier analysis, variogram analysis and so on. However, there are a few case studies for geo-lineament characterization with the actual geo-based information such as remotely sensed imagery and DEM. In this study, wavelet approach in the Uiseung caldera region are carried out to delineate characterization for geolineament spatial pattern. There are high possibilities of the development of radial lineaments from the centre of round crater due to the eruption of a volcano and the subsidence of a crater. We have grasped the directionality of the whole linear structures of the caldera via rose diagram, and then performed wavelet analysis on the profiles of orthogonal directions for main directions of the lineaments. The result of this study is likely to be used as a fundamental data in order to grasp the outline of caldera structure prior to the close estimation

  • Field sampling requires statistical description to draw inferences from data. Field data, or linear structures, are commonly analyzed by the graphical presentations, such as streonets and rose diagrams. For this purpose the DROPOL program is developed to analyze the data more efficiently with personal computer. DROPOL program written in FORTRAN 77 plots the structural data in points, poles or great circle on equalarea (Schmidt net) or equal-angle (Wulff net) projection surface. It is also capable to project the data from upper or lower hemisphere of stereonet and to draw pole contour diagrams from the plotted data. The rose diagram, representing the frequency of the strike and dip angle, can also be drawn in general or smooth type using $5^{\circ}$ or $10^{\circ}$ degrees interval.

  • UML cannot meet all the requirements offered in different software system for diverse application domain. GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) application domain is an especial environment that requires precise measurement and precision calculation of real-world geographical entities with the help of GPS (Global Position System) in both temporal and spatial factor. Therefore in the paper new extended iconic stereotypes for better modeling GNSS application in the UML Diagram are proposed, and the implementation of a program called StereotypeCreator, which is able to create iconic stereotypes used in one of the most popular visual modeling tools for software development, Rational Rose, will be also proposed.

  • Objectory Process를 바탕으로 한 Rose는 실 프로젝트의 개발을 위한 단계에 대한 구체적인 절차제시 및 세부적인 지침의 부족으로 실제 업무 개발 시 혼란을 초래할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 Objectory Process를 확장하여 개발자를 위한 객체지향 소프트웨어 개발 방법론을 제시한다. 그리고, UML Diagram과 세부적인 명세서 작성방법 및 산출물을 명시하고, 이와 같은 정보들 저장 및 검색을 관리 할 수 있는 효율적인 객체지향 소프트웨어 개발 방법론을 제시한다.

Distribution Characteristics of Ambient Heavy Metals based on the Emission Sources and their Carcinogenic Risk Assessment in Ulsan, Korea (발생원에 근거한 울산지역의 대기중금속 분포특성 및 발암위해성 평가)

  • This study has been conducted to evaluate the influence of ambient heavy metals to the air quality and to find their sources in Ulsan. Korea. The distribution characteristics of ambient heavy metals with wind direction were investigated by using pollution-rose diagram. Carcinogenic risk for five trace heavy metals (Pb. Cd, Cr, Mn, and Ni), which are classified to carcinogenic material by US EPA, are assessed according to the classification system of USEPA and WHO. According to pollution-rose calculation on pollutants sources, Pb and Cu in Deoksin, which is an adjacent to Onsan industrial complexes, were $0.1058\;and\;0.3242{\mu}g/m^3$. These concentration levels are the highest at all sampling sites. From this result we could confirm that it was affected by Onsan industrial complex that is located northeast of Deoksin.,And the maximum concentration of Cd, Cr, and Ni were $0.0306,\;0.0102,\;and\;0.0146\;{\mu}g/m^{3} in Yeocheon respectively. Because Yeocheon is in the Mipo industrial complexes, which have many combustors, incinerators, and manufacturing facilities compared to other regions. In carcinogenic risk assessment, Pb, Ni, and Mn concentration level at six sampling sites were lower than the risk level guideline values ($10^{-5}$) of WHO. However, $Cr^{6+}$ and Cd concentration in Yeocheon were 60% and 205% higher than the guideline values of WHO. Therefore it is very important that the emission from industrial complexes were carefully managed and controlled to improve air quality in residential area.

Monitoring Variation of Tidal Channels associated with Shihwa Reclamation Project using Remote Sensing Approaches (원격탐사기반 시화호 간척사업과 갯골변화 관찰)

  • This study analyzed variation of tidal channels associated with Shihwa reclamation project for corresponding observation period based on remote sensing approaches. The project period was subdivided to developing period, closed period, and open period based on developing and management plan of Shiwa lake, and number, length, width, and direction of tidal channels for each period were analyzed using CORONA, Landsat 5 TM, Landsat 7 ETM+, and orthorectified aerial photographs. Number of tidal channels decreased from developing to opening period while $3^{rd}$ order channles did not show noticeable changes. The length of tidal channels decreased during developing to closed period, and increasing trend of $2^{nd}$ and $3^{rd}$ order channels was observed for the opening period. The average widtrh of $2^{nd}$ and $3^{rd}$ order channels decreased from developing to closed period, and increased during open period. The direction of tidal channels showed NW and NE direction in general, while the rose diagram showed deacrased frequency of NE direction and increased frequency of NW direction during the open period. These variations in tidal channels are considered to be related to changes in tidal energy environment, where stable energy environment before the project was changed to disconnection of tidal energy by closed environment, and re-connection of the energy during the open period.
