Performance Comparison of 2D MUSIC and Root-MUSIC Algorithms for Anti-jamming in GPS Receiver (GPS 재밍 대응을 위한 2차원 MUSIC과 Root-MUSIC 알고리즘의 성능 비교)

  • GPS is vulnerable to jamming because of extremely low signal power. Many anti-jamming techniques are studied for complement this vulnerability. Anti-jamming techniques using array antenna are most effective technique and these techniques are required the DOA estimates. MUSIC algorithm and Root-MUSIC Algorithm are typical algorithms used in DOA estimation. Two algorithms have different characteristics, so the choice of an algorithm may depends on many factors such as the environment and the system requirements. The analysis and performance comparison of both algorithms is necessary to choose the best method to apply. This paper summarizes the theory of MUSIC and Root-MUSIC algorithms. And this paper extends both algorithm to estimate two-dimensional angles. The software simulator of both algorithms are implemented to evaluate the performance. Root-MUSIC algorithm has the computational advantage on ULA. MUSIC algorithm is applicable to any antenna array. MUSIC shows better estimation performance when number of array element is small while the computational load of MUSIC is much higher than Root-MUSIC.

  • This paper proposes a root-assisted MUSIC algorithm which uses a combination of the MUSIC and the root-MUSIC algorithm. This algorithm consists of two steps. Firstly, a coarse DOA is computed by the root-MUSIC algorithm. Secondly, a precise DOA estimation is carried out by the MUSIC algorithm in the reduced searching range. This paper analyzes the accuracy and the resolution performance of the proposed DOA estimation method using a software simulation platform.

  • In this thesis, Improvisation of Jazz Vocal that can be characterized as Jazz music, namely practice of Scat suggest that way of applied approach that root position of chord and chord tones. Scat plays a solo using reproduced tunes of meaningless scat syllable that is not use the lyrics and melodies, which are written in a score. For this, Using the root position of chord is a reference point that Jazz vocal constructs a musical melody. Singing person can develop that reference point from simple scat to develop increasingly complex scat and can express that musical expression and communion. It analyzed the music functionally with a standard Jazz music 'All of me' as the center from composition of chord tone that improvise song to bass line, bass scat, analysis of chord tones arpeggio and expression. In this thesis, the improvisation of a Jazz vocal that may seem somewhat abstruse and complex could be relatively easy to construct through a gradual approach.

An Efficient Direct Signal-Based Direction of Arrival Estimation Using Uniform Rectangular Array

  • This paper proposes a computationally efficient 2-D direction-of-arrival (DoA) estimation method with a uniform rectangular array (URA). This method is called the direct signal-based method in the sense that it is based directly on the phase relationships among the signals arriving at each antenna of an antenna array rather than their correlation matrix. According to the simulation results, it has be shown that the direct signal-based method, with much less computations than any existing methods, yields the performance comparable to that of the MUSIC (MUltiple SIgnal Classification) method in terms of the root-mean-squared error (RMSE) and the maximum absolute error.

  • OFDM 전송방식에 있어서 중요한 주파수 옵셋 추정을 하는데 있어서 기존의 FFT 방법이 가지고 있는 문제점을 보완하는 알고리즘이 많이 연구되고 있다. FFT의 정수배 옵셋외에 소수배 옵셋이 생겼을때 제대로 추정해 낼 수 없는 점을 보완하는 High resolutional technical 알고리즘을 보면 MVDR, MUSIC, root MUSIC, PISARENCO 등이 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 알고리즘 중에 MPM(Matrix Pencil Method)를 이용하여 FFT의 문제점을 보완하고 옵셋 추정을 시뮬레이션 해 보았다.

A Study on Accurate Angle Estimation of Multiple Targets for Digital Beam Forming Automotive Radar (DBF 차량용 레이더를 위한 다중 표적의 정확한 각도 추정 연구)

  • In order to satisfy several conditions with respect to size, weight, and costs, automotive radars use an antenna consisting of a small number of receiving channels. If RELAX technique is applied to the automotive radars, angles of targets located in antenna beam can be estimated as well as the number of the targets. However, a small number of receiving channels in the antenna leads to inaccurate spectral estimation in angle domain, which in turn degrades performance of RELAX technique. Therefore, in this study, root-MUSIC technique coupled with MDL criterion is introduced to decide accurate angles of targets in antenna beam. In simulations, we show superior performance of proposed scheme using simulation results when three point targets are located in antenna beam.

  • Consumers changed to the subject to produce a digital contents as data transmission technique is advanced and a digital machine is diffused variously. Users are interested greatly in a user creative movie (UCM) production among various online contents. The UCM production method which uses the music and picture is the method that users make the UCM more easily. However, the UCM production service has the problem that any association does not exist in the music and picture and that the picture changes according to fixed time interval without the relation at a music rhythm. To solve this problem, we propose the UCM production method which uses a music analysis and picture analysis in the paper. A music analysis finds a picture change time according to the rhythm and a picture analysis finds the association of the picture. A music analysis finds strong parts of the sound which uses Root-Mean-Square (RMS). And a picture analysis classifies the picture as a scenery picture and people picture which uses structure simplicity of the picture(SSP) and face region detection. A picture analysis got correct result of 86.4% in the experiment and we can finds the association at each picture and arranges the sequence which the picture appears. Therefore, if we use a music and picture analysis at the UCM production, users may make natural and efficient movie.

  • Deep learning is used as a creative tool that could overcome the limitations of existing analysis models and generate various types of results such as text, image, and music. In this paper, we propose a method necessary to preprocess audio data using the Niko's MIDI Pack sound source file as a data set and to generate music using Bi-LSTM. Based on the generated root note, the hidden layers are composed of multi-layers to create a new note suitable for the musical composition, and an attention mechanism is applied to the output gate of the decoder to apply the weight of the factors that affect the data input from the encoder. Setting variables such as loss function and optimization method are applied as parameters for improving the LSTM model. The proposed model is a multi-channel Bi-LSTM with attention that applies notes pitch generated from separating treble clef and bass clef, length of notes, rests, length of rests, and chords to improve the efficiency and prediction of MIDI deep learning process. The results of the learning generate a sound that matches the development of music scale distinct from noise, and we are aiming to contribute to generating a harmonistic stable music.

  • 센서 array 신호처리에서 DOA(direction of arrival)의 추정에 사용되고 있는 root-MUSIC, TLS-ESPRIT 등과 같은 고해상도 스펙트럼 추정 기법들은 과다한 연산량으로 인하여 실시간 구현이 어렵고, 신호들의 DOA가 근접한 경우에서는 추적 성능이 매우 불안정하게 된다. 이러한 문제점에 대한 대안으로 여러 형태의 부공간 추적 개념을 사용하는 수치기법이 제안되어 왔다 [2], [4], [6]. 본 논문에서는 이들 부공간 추정 기법들을 LS-ESPRIT 기법에 접목하여 그 성능을 비교하고, 개선 방안을 제시하였다.

  • 많은 해 동안 기타를 배우는 학생들은 거의 한 가지 방식으로 기타 지판을 습득해왔다. 바로 '근음기준 코드 톤 방식'이 그것인데 기타 상에서의 코드 톤 모양을 이해하는 데는 매우 유용한 방식이기도 하다. 그러나 오랜 음악 교육 경험에서 가이드 톤 기준 방식과 비교해 볼 때 근음기준 연습 방식에서 문제점이 발견되었다. 따라서 어떤 방식이 학생들이 멜로디적인 즉흥연주를 할 때 더 효과적인지 증명하기 위한 실험이 이루어졌다. 이 연구에서는 기타교육에 대한 해답을 얻고자 함이 아니라 초기 연습이 어떻게 멜로디적인 연주와 음악적인 연주에 영향을 주는지에 그 초점이 있다 하겠다.
