Er과 Yb이 동시 도핑된 YCa4B3O10의 광 특성 (Optical Characteristics of Er and Yb co-doped YCa4B3O10)

  • Optical characteristics of $YCOB(YCa_4B_3O_{10})$, known as a crystal of self frequency doubling, was investigated when Yb and Er ions were co-doped 20 % and 2 %, respectively. The absorption cross section of Er,Yb:YCOB crystal at $1.0\;{\mu}m$ was larger than that of Yb:YCOB, which means that the former was profitable for more energy absorption than the latter. The fluorescent lifetime at $1.5\;{\mu}m$ was measured to be 1.27 ms at room temperature, and lengthened to 1.54 ms and 1.62 ms at low temperatures of 77 K and 6 K, respectively. The line widths of fluorescent spectrum at $1.5\;{\mu}m$ were getting narrower as lowering temperature. However, we didn't observe a temperature dependent peak wavelength shift.

Raman Frequencies Calculated at Various Pressures in Phase I of Benzene

  • We calculate in this study the pressure dependence of the frequencies for the Raman modes of A ($A_g$), B ($A_g$, $B_{2g}$) and C ($B_{1g}$, $B_{3g}$) at constant temperatures of 274 and 294K (room temperature) for the solid phase I of benzene. Using the mode Gr$\ddot{u}$neisen parameter of each lattice mode, which correlates the pressure dependence of the crystal volume and the frequency, the Raman frequencies of those modes are computed for phase I of benzene. Our results show that the Raman frequencies of the three lattice modes (A, B and C) increase as the pressure increases, as expected. The temperature effect on the Raman frequencies is not significant, which can be explained by the experimental measurements.

Thermoelastic Behaviors of Fabric Membrane Structures

  • The thermoelastic behaviors of an inflatable fabric membrane structure for use in a stratospheric airship envelope are experimentally and numerically investigated. Mechanical tensile properties of the membrane material at room, high, and low temperatures are measured using an $Instron^{(R)}$ universal testing machine and an $Instron^{(R)}$ thermal chamber. To characterize the nonlinear behavior of the inflated membrane structure due to wrinkling, the bending behavior of an inflated cylindrical boom made of a fabric membrane is observed at various pressure levels. Moreover, the envelope of a stratospheric airship is numerically modeled based on the thermoelastic properties of the fabric membrane obtained from experimental data, and the wrinkled deformed shape induced by a thermal load is analyzed.

  • L-Arginine semi-oxalate (LASO) single crystal has been grown by solution growth technique at room temperature. The crystal structure and lattice parameters were determined for the grown crystal by single crystal X-ray diffraction studies. Photoluminescence studies confirm the violet fluorescence emission peak at 395 nm. Optical constants like band gap, refractive index, reflectance, extinction coefficient and electric susceptibility were determined from UV-VIS-NIR spectrum. The dielectric constant, dielectric loss and ac conductivity of the compound were calculated at different temperatures and frequencies to analyze the electrical properties. The solid state parameters such as plasma energy, Penn gap, Fermi energy and polarizability were calculated to analyze second harmonic generation (SHG). Nonlinear optical property was discussed to confirm the SHG efficiency of the grown crystal.

온돌면(溫突面)의 방열량(放熱量) 산정방법(算定方法)에 관한 연구(硏究) (A Calculation Method on Heat Flux from Ondol Floor Surface)

  • Until recently there was a lack of reliable performance data for the design and operation of Ondol heating systems. This paper presents a calculation method on heat flux from Ondol floor surface. Total heat flux from floor consists of radiation and convection component. In order to analyse the characteristics of both radiation and convection heat flux, each surface temperature is measured and several temperatures near each wall are measured vertically and horizontally in a practical Ondol heating space. Radiation heat flux is calculated and analysed by Gebhart's Absorption Factor Method with the consideration of instantaneous radiant exchanges. Convection heat output is derived from the vertical temperature profiles near floor. The vertical temperature profiles could be expressed by nonlinear regression equation models and convection coefficients could be estimated by the equations. As a result, radiation, convection and total heat flux are suggested by the expression of difference between floor surface and room air temperature.

방사선조사에 의한 한국산탁주 및 약주의 shelf-life 연장에 관한 연구 (Studies on radiation preservation of fermented Korean rice-wine (Tak Joo and Yak Joo))

  • The rapid deterioration of fermented rice-wine, called Tak Joo and Yak Joo, is one of the serious problems for brewing and marketing in Korea. In this study the biochemical and microbiological investigations have been performed for extension of shelf-life of the rice-wine by the method of combined heat and radiopasteurization. Major microflora in this wine is proved as Saccharomyces cereoisiar, which is destroyed by h-at treatmznt ($70^{\circ}C$, 10 min.) combined with gamma-irradiation of 240 K, rads doses. The changes of chemical constituents of them were investigated during the storage period at room temperatures of summer days($33^{\circ}C$). The results of sensory test for gamma-irradiated rice-wine with lower doses show no significant unfavourable off-odor nor color change compared with the fresh rice-wine. Therefore, it is revealed that the combined process makes possible extension of shelf-life of fermented rice-wine in markets without any deterioration and loose of its particular tastes at least for three weeks.

주거 건물의 복사냉방시스템 적용에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Application of the Radiant Floor Cooling System in Residential Building)

  • The objective of this study is to demonstrate the potential of radiant cooling systems using Ondol as an alternative cooling system in residential buildings. For this purpose, computer simulation and model experiments have been performed for the system performance analysis regarding comfort, floor surface condensation, and supply water temperature. The results of this study is the following: In radiant floor cooling system, room air temperatures were maintained within the set temperature range of $\pm$1$^{\circ}C$ without any discomfort condition. And taking into account only the condensation occurrence, it was possible to achieve radiant floor cooling for a period of about 77% of the total cooling period in weather condition of Seoul. The minimum supply water temperature is about 15$^{\circ}C$, so renewable energy system such as ground heat exchange system can be used as an alternative in cooling source. Also, floor surface condensation can be prevented by integrating with the dehumidification system.

저장 온도 및 가열 방법이 밀가루겔 및 식빵의 조직 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Storage Temperatures and Heating Methods on the Textural characteristics of Wheat Flour Gels and Loaf Bread)

  • Effects of storage temperature at 18oC and 5oC for 9 days and heating conditions on textural char acteristics in strong wheat flour gels were investigated using a Instron after microwave (2450MHz, 700W). Heating condition did not affect the texture property in the wheat flour gels, but the frozen storage was very effective to prevent the hardening of the samples. Hardness, adhesiveness, and gumminess in the wheat flour gels decreased in increasing moisture content from 45% to 55%, but there was little change in cohesiveness. The storage at room temperature for 2 hours resulted in increased hardness in the heated wheat flour gels. PE wrap package of the wheat flour gels prevented weight loss by 3~6% and hardening effectively. Sugar, or sugar and shotening resulted in increased hardness in loaf bread. The hardness and weight loss in loaf breads were markedly changed by the heating time with microwave. The most critical time point was around 4 minutes following the heating.

  • As the building is becomes bigger and larger, it can lead to big damage in case of fire. Also, tunnel, machine room and underground joint are spaces that can cause high temperature fire above 1,350℃ in case of fire. Therefore, a refractory material is need that can be withstand in high temperatures for long time. One side, the composition of oyster shell is CaCO3 of 90% or more. It is expected that it will be possible to use it as a high calcium natural material which is the material of the refractory board. According to, Study on bending, compressive strength of mortar according to temperature and heating time change using classified oyster shell as aggregate.

Liquid Phase Deposition of Transition Metal Ferrite Thin Films: Synthesis and Magnetic Properties

  • We report on the synthesis of highly uniform, single phase zinc and cobalt thin films prepared by the Liquid Phase Deposition (LPD) method. X-Ray diffraction, TGA and EDX measurements support the assumption that the as deposited films are constituted by a mixture of crystallized FeOOH and amorphous M(OH)$_2$ (M=Co, Zn) which is converted upon heat treatment in air at 600?C into the corresponding zinc ferrites. The films with adjustable chemical compositions are identified with a crystal structure as spinel-type and present a spherical or rod-like microstructure, depending on the both the nature and concentration of the divalent transition metal ions. Zinc ferrite thin films present a superparamagnetic behavior above blocking temperatures which decrease with increasing the Zn content and are ferromagnetic at 5 K with coercivities ranging between 797.8 and 948.5 Oe, whereas the cobalt ferrite films are ferromagnetic at room temperature with magnetic characteristics strongly dependent on the chemical composition.
