  • 우리나라 서해안 해역에서의 유동은 조류, 조석잔차류, 밀도류, 취송류가 탁월하여 서해안 연안 해역의 수온, 염분 분포는 기본적으로 이러한 유동장에 의하여 지배되고 있다. 따라서 연안 해역의 물질의 분산, 어류의 난치어들과 같은 생물의 이동분산을 예측하려면 우선 유동,수온, 염분분포 등 물리요소의 분포를 정량적으로 재현할 수 있는 수치 Model의 작성이 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 새만금간척사업에 따른 전북 연안 해역의 조류, 조석잔차류, 밀도류, 취송류 등의 유동 변화는 수산자원의 재생과 자원관리, 평가 등 자원 변동의 기구를 명확히 하기 위하여 중요하다고 판단되어 전북 연안 해역의 조류, 조석잔차류, 밀도류, 취송류 등이 포함된 잔차류의 특성을 알아보고자 한다.

  • A robust damage detection method using short-time Fourier transform and beating phenomena is presented as an estimating tool of the healthiness of large structures. The present technique makes use of beating phenomena that manifest themselves when two signals of similar frequencies are added or subtracted. Unlike most existing methods based on vibration signals, the present approach does not require an analytic model for target structures. Furthermore, the main advantage of the proposed method compared to the competing diagnostic method using vibration data is its robustness. The proposed method is not affected by the amplitude of exciting signals and the location of exciting points. From a measuring view point. the location of sensing point have no influence on the performance of the present method. With a view to verifying the effectiveness of this method. a series of experiments are made and the results show its possibility as a robust damage diagnostic method.

  • Reaching fault tolerance in technological systems requires to detect malfunctions. This paper presents a diagnostic method that is robust with respect to unknown-but-bounded uncertainties of the dynamical model and the measurements. By using models of the faultless and the faulty behaviours, a state-set observer computes polyhedral sets from which the consistency of the models with the interval measurements is determined. The diagnostic result is proven to be complete, i.e., the set of faults obtained by the diagnostic algorithm includes the actual fault. The algorithm is illustrated by an application example.

Diagnostic Study of Problems under Asymptotically Generalized Least Squares Estimation of Physical Health Model

  • This study examined those problems noticed under the Asymptotically Generalized Least Squares estimator in evaluating a structural model of physical health. The problems were highly correlated parameter estimates and high standard errors of some parameter estimates. Separate analyses of the endogenous part of the model and of the metric of a latent factor revealed a highly skewed and kurtotic measurement indicator as the focal point of the manifested problems. Since the sample sizes are far below that needed to produce adequate AGLS estimates in the given modeling conditions, the adequacy of the Maximum Likelihood estimator is further examined with the robust statistics and the bootstrap method. These methods demonstrated that the ML methods were unbiased and statistical decisions based upon the ML standard errors remained almost the same. Suggestions are made for future studies adopting structural equation modeling technique in terms of selecting of a reference indicator and adopting those statistics corrected for nonormality.

국제유가와 소비자물가의 변동 (The Relationship between World Oil Price and Consummer Price Index in Korea)

  • This paper investigates the existence of a long-run relationship between world oil price and consumer price index for Korea during 1983~1999. The cointegration and error correction modelling approaches have been applied. Empirical results suggest that there exists a long-run relationship among world oil prices. consumer prices, M2 and a production gap variable. The dynamic behavior of the relationship has been investigated by estimating a error correction model, in which the error correction term have been found significant. The error correction model has also been found to be robust as it satisfy almost all relevant diagnostic tests.

A Model-generated Circulation in the Yellow Sea and the East China Sea: I. Depth-mean Flow Fields

  • This paper presents the depth-mean monthly variation in the circulation of the Yellow Sea and the East China Sea computed using a robust diagnostic model. The mixed three-dimensional finite-difference Galerkin function model developed by Lee et at. (2000, 2001) has been extended to take into account baroclinic effects and then used to calculate the depth-mean flow fields as part of the results. In addition to M2 tide and oceanic flows previously considered, the model has been driven by the monthly mean wind stresses from Na and Seo (1998), the density gradient calculated based on by GDEM data set released by US Navy. Model results are very encouraging in that many of observed features including Jeju Cyclonic Gyre and frontal eddies along the shelfside of the Kuroshio main stream and west of Kyushu, are satisfactorily reproduced and are expected to be of value in interpreting observations in various oceanograhic disciplines.

새만금간척 전.후 잔차류의 계절변화에 관한 연구 (A study of seasonal variation of the residual flow before and after Saemangeum reclamation)

  • 새만금간척지역은 동경 $126^{\circ}10'{\sim}126^{\circ}50'$와 북위 $35^{\circ}35'{\sim}36^{\circ}05'$ 위치하고 있다. 새만금간척지역은 대조차가 5.6m 이고 최대 조유속은 $1.41m\;s^{-1}$ 이다. 조간대 침전물의 대부분은 금강, 만경, 동진강으로부터 유입되고 있다. 이 지역의 저질은 실트질 모래로 구성되어 있다. 동절기의 바람은 북서풍이 우세하다. 새만금간척면적은 40,100ha 이고 방조제의 길이는 33km이다. 본 연구의 목적은 강 진단모델과 예보모델에 의하여 간척전 후의 잔차류의 계절변화를 규명하는 것이다.

  • Bivariate distributions play a fundamental role in survival and reliability studies. We consider a regression model for bivariate survival times under right-censored based on the bivariate Kumaraswamy Weibull (Cordeiro et al., Journal of the Franklin Institute, 347, 1399-1429, 2010) distribution to model the dependence of bivariate survival data. We describe some structural properties of the marginal distributions. The method of maximum likelihood and a Bayesian procedure are adopted to estimate the model parameters. We use diagnostic measures based on the local influence and Bayesian case influence diagnostics to detect influential observations in the new model. We also show that the estimates in the bivariate Kumaraswamy Weibull regression model are robust to deal with the presence of outliers in the data. In addition, we use some measures of goodness-of-fit to evaluate the bivariate Kumaraswamy Weibull regression model. The methodology is illustrated by means of a real lifetime data set for kidney patients.

  • This paper proposes an analytical redundancy technique for fault diagnostics of the sensor in steer-by-wire system. We use incorporating vehicle dynamics modeling into the design of a diagnostic system for steer-by-wire system. The use of a model of vehicle dynamics improves the speed and accuracy of the diagnoses. The proposed fault diagnostics algorithm is based on parity-space methods to generate residuals. To reduce the effects of modeling uncertainty and dynamic transients, the residuals are subject to filtering. We construct diagnostic system consisting residual threshold for detection and isolator with using the directional residual vector.

1/2$^{\circ}$해상도의 진단적 전구 해수순환모형 연구 (Robust Diagnostic World Ocean Circulation with Half-Degree Resolution)

  • GFDL의 진단적 모형인 MOM(Modular Ocean Model)을 이용한 전구 해수순환이 연구되었다. 모형의 수평 해상도는 1/2$^{\circ}$이며, 수직으로는 21개의 층을 가지고 있다. 열염 관측자료로는 Levitus등(1994)의 자료를, 바람응력자료는 Hellerman과 Rosenstein(1983)의 자료를 사용하였다. 대표적인 분할지역을 가로지르는 수평적 유량 및 열염이송이 모형결과로부터 계산되었다. 초기결과로서 다음과 같은 사실을 알 수 있었다. 대서양, 인도양 및 태평양에서 적도를 통한 수송량이 매우 작았지만 적도를 횡단하는 대서양지역의 열수송은 관측결과에 의하면 북향이었는데 이는 명백히 상층의 난류를 보상하는 북대서양 심해에서의 남향 흐름의 영향이다. 본 연구에서 계산된 태평양 적도지역의 연평균 열수송량은 Philander등(1987)에 의해 계산된 값보다는 작은 값을 보였는데 태평양의 열수송에서 Indonesian Throughflow의 중요성을 말해주는 것으로 보인다. 본 연구에서는 인도네시아 군도를 통한 열수송량이 -0.5PW 정도로 계산되었는데 북대서양과 태평양에서의 극방향 열수송과 비견될 만한 양이다. 구획5와 구획6해역의 열수송의 차이는 아굴라스 해류가 전구 해양의 열평형에서 차지하는 중요한 역할을 제시하였다.
